Image Credit: Lester Cohen/WireImage.comCourteney Cox is cooking up something bigger than a title change to lure viewers to the undiscovered gem that is her ABC comedy Cougar Town: Jennifer Aniston!
After a year’s worth of will-she-or-won’t-she speculation, Aniston is nearing a deal to reunite with her former Friends costar (and real-life BFF) in an early episode of the show’s second season (premiering on Sept. 22), sources confirm to me exclusively.
ABC declined to comment, while Cougar Town executive producer Bill Lawrence would only say, “I would love for it to happen but there’s nothing to talk about yet.”
This would mark only the second time the pair have worked together on a scripted series since Friends went off the air in 2004. Their first reunion was in 2007, when they reteamed for an episode of Cox’s FX dramedy Dirt.
Cox’s other female Friend, Lisa Kudrow, guest-starred as an angry dermatologist during the show’s first season. There’s no word on who Aniston would be playing.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
The show is a delight and deserves much more acclaim and viewers then it is getting so if Jennifer can boost ratings, then I’m all for it. I can’t wait for this show’s return, even without Anniston.
i am a young and handsome man from us.
i just wonder if i can meet a mature women here,
because i am at the beginning of my career and i need someone’s support..
i uploaded my hot photos on S u g a r m o m m a M e e t .C’ o m …. under the name piccolo ,
maybe you want to check out my photos first!
That’s whas my first reaction!!!lol
Don’t get me wrong, i like Jennifer Aniston, but she need to stick to television. She’s been trying for years to be a “Movie Star” and it’s just not going to happen!
Where have you been???? I’ve seen several of her movies and love them. I would consider her a wonderful movie star!!!!
I would love for this to happen!
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
I love both of them!!! <3
PLEASE!!!!!
obsessed
I would be more excited if they were reuniting for more Friends but whatevs.
Have to realize they’re all over 40 now, so don’t expect the 90s to return.
because if they weren’t over 40, the 90s would totally return.
because once you turn 40, you no longer have friends
She should play one of Travis’s professors who he has a crush on
Thats actually a great idea
who knows
fingers crossed!
excellent. love.
I just hope she can fit in with the tone of the show, if she does it. Sheryl Crow’s arc was bad because she just had no onscreen personality, especially when among all the other talented charismatic characters in the Cul De Sac Crew.
i think she can, especially because she already has familiarity and chemistry with courtney cox
STOKED!
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS!!!! SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!
i hope she and courtney play rivals of some sort. ooooooh or maybe she can be barb’s daughter. the ages don’t work, but it would be great.
They would be awsome rivals but it would be even better if they were rivals but also sisters x) that way she could try to get greyson just to make her sister sweat or something
it would be hilarious !
SWEET! Love it!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! life would be complete. i dream of a special 1 hour episode where all the friends were together somehow in some miraculous way. but until then, i’ll take this.
A show about an older woman who can’t land a man. Kind of a stretch for Jennifer.
Jules has a man….
I consider her to be very CAREFUL in choosing a man she wants to keep. VERY SMART!
Who says she even WANTS to land a man? Aniston has had a number of relationships since OMG Angelina Jolie like totally stole her man (so tired of that storyline), but even if she hadn’t, so what? I don’t care for the implication that women need men to be happy and are always trying to “land” a man. (This coming from a twentysomething married woman who is super dependent on her husband, by the way!) I just don’t like when people seem to think that a woman is incomplete without a man and that it somehow reflects negatively on her, as if there’s some inability or something wrong going on with the woman. Good for Jennifer Aniston for, as Curious noted, being careful and smart in her selections. (Well, was John Mayer really a smart selection? Yechhh.)
I thought the original commenter was just being sarcastic. Obviously the tabloids recurring storyline for JA is her barren-ness/manless-ness/woe-is-me ridiculousness. If I were Bill Lawrence I would actually play with that if JA did guest star.
