In fact, in the premiere, we’ll see him smiling, laughing, and canoodling on the beach with at-long-last ladylove Cuddy. Clearly this can mean only one thing: The relationship is doomed, right? “I don’t think [so], necessarily,” Hugh Laurie tells me. “But let’s face it, neither of these characters has a clean license.
“‘Buckle up,’” he adds, “would be my advice.”
Lisa Edelstein, who plays House’s significant other, shares her costar’s trepidation. “I was terrified of saying ‘I love you,’” she admits. “But I think that in the final scene of season 6, Cuddy makes it clear that she’s ready to go for it.”
Laurie is ready too, weird as it may feel to him. “Even the appearance of happiness [in House] has taken some getting used to,” he says. “I had a week of happiness training before the season started up, and I’m whistling more than usual.”
Is his small-screen counterpart whistling more than he did, say, when he was with Sela Ward’s Stacy? “I’ve always thought of House as a romantic, and I don’t think romantics are much given to comparing,” Laurie demurs. “But speaking as a friend of House, he seems to be attracted to strong women. He likes to get as good as he gives—and I mean that in as many senses as are suitable for a family readership.”

me and my girlfriend are loyal House watchers. More me then her. I have watched every single episode and more then once that I could tell you the whole episode within the first 10 seconds or it. most of the time less.besides being entertaining and funny, it is a bit educational. enough that i will actually look up on my own what the disease is and more about it. people will say the show is repetitive, but what show isnt? CSI is the most watch show on earth right now with what like 2 other branch offs (NY and Miami) and it is tha same way. House FOREVER!!!

it’s been confirmed by people close to the show(don’t remember if it was show runners or stars) that it was real. no more fakeouts. they couldn’t get away with that twice anyways…
But that’s basically what happens in hospitals… you get a patient and you have to treat them, then you get another patient, and so on and so forth. How else can they change it about?
The format of it. Bones is a good example of a show that is very much a procedural but doesn’t feel forced or predictable at every act. Also, CSI, for example – big jump between that and The Wire, no? Both cop shows though.
I disagree, a bit. Procedurals very much follow a procedure. Case is presented, dead identified, suspects identified, guest stars introduced, first 1-2 suspects don’t pan out, in the end the one guest star you recognize is the murderer.

In the beginning of the final episode House has a bloodied hand. Then the flash -back begins. At the end of the episode his hand is not bloodied. Did anyone notice this? I think his love affair with Cuddy is indeed a hallucination due to this discrepancy. Anyone?

True but what was fun and interesting THIS past season was we saw a different House – a House with feelings and emotions. We saw him interact more humanely to his friends and even the patients. THAT is what broadened the Disease of The Week storylines.
I agree it’s time to change things up a little for House. I don’t think I could have watched another whole season of him popping vicodin. It’s the challenge for the writers of the show to allow House to be happy and still create a “mix-up” with the rest of his crew. He can still be outspoken, even if he’s happy. I’m just excited to see where this goes!
You forgot a step in the format: patient almost dies and then House has a revelatory moment while talking to Wilson and runs (okay, limps really fast) to the patient’s room to save his life.

LOL That’s the same Cameron saw as an immunologist. Foreman allways sees neurological. Only chase seems to come up with different ideas (and has, on occasion, solved the case instead of House). House said himself that when you get a sick patient, the cardiologist will say it’s a heart problem, the oncologist will say it’s cancer, and so forth.

Ignore “K”‘s comments. Ranger is spot on. EVERY show’s characters have to move forward within the storylines. Even Kirk and Spock’s characters grew on the TV show and in the movies.

First, I have to say that Hugh Laurie is brilliant. Second, the show’s success is at least 90% Laurie. So, I don’t really care about the storyline as long as Mr Laurie get a chance to show his talent. I wish House could turn into a blow up comedy. love when he play gigs, like in a sketch.

I agree. The Taub story arc was getting me ticked off. It’s rather dull, in my opinion, and a Chase one would be m,ore interesting. But now that there’s finally some real Huddy in the show, I hope they actually focus a bit on that and not ignore it to focus on Thirteen and the reason for her ‘vacation.’

i dont think it would last. not as long as we think. i think the show will go pretty stale if they do work out. its exciting now because well he is going threw his own personal turmoil is inner turmoil. so i think what the writers will do is have them last for a little bit, break it off and at the end of the series have them get back together. but all you also have to realize this show is largely based on Sherlock Holmes largely inspired by it. so tell me this does Sherlock have a wife??

I disagree that Hugh is a “Huddy.” He has to sell “Huddy” because that’s what TPTB are determined to give us, and that’s all Ausiello bothers asking about these days. What else can Hugh possibly say? There are a lot of people who are not on board with this at all; it’s his job to try and sell it to us so the show can regain some of their lost viewers.

Dear AbileneRN, I’m afraid I’m not the only one here tuning out. The ratings are down by nearly half, falling to as low as the early part of the 1st season.
For a lot of people, the show’s balance of medical mystery and human drama has become way lobsided. Maybe the writers find it easier to write human drama than medical mystery, but ratings seem to agree with me.

I think this is going to be a really interesting season. We’ll get to see a new side of House which we’ve only seen glimpses of before. The show would be too predictable if House just continued to be the same grumpy miserable person for 6 years without anything new happening in his life. The medical mysteries are an important part, but are not enough to sustain the interest of the viewers for 6-7 seasons. And yaaay for Hugh Laurie being a Huddy!!

It is just a show and they can have whatever storylines they want. If you want to think a character is beautiful or that both these people like working with the other that is your right. All I know is what I have seen in the person’s own handwriting which tells a very different story. Actors act especially when giving interviews and doing things in public. What they say in places they think no one but the recipient will ever see or read is far more likely to be the truth.

Everyone here is just jumping to conclusions about what the letters say and obviously do so without bothering to read them. Funny how people cannot tell a joke and things said to try to boost a shows rating or get people to hang in there when they are dropping like flies, from the truth. People are paid to paint the picture the show wishes to maintain, even when it is completely opposite to their own thoughts and opinions. Whether you like the storyline or not, the thoughts being expressed jokingly here are as far from the “with proof” comments that are in black and white in written sources that were not meant to make it to the public view. Those handwritten letters and memos are the concrete proof.

I don’t vouch for any of it, but in the past the scrips were very similar to what appeared on the show. The letters on the other hand are a different matter as the handwriting can be authenticated.

I don’t have it just read it. The person who took it in the first place has posted it several times and each time it has been taken down again. No doubt it will be back up again soon. There are also a couple of blogs where people who work on the show have been having a discussion about the subject, and they had excerpts from the things too.

I never said I knew what was in his head, only that I read what he wrote. I know who you are freelancer, and could care less. I watch and like the show, and it has no bearing on me whether people believe me or not. Plenty of people have read and are discussing the letters, and I am sure that some of them must have saved them on their computers and can likely post them here for everyone to see, but I did not save them.
The fact that you “could care less” pretty much proves my point. Again, feel free to draw your own conclusions on said letters, but don’t presume that those conclusions are also facts and spread those around, because they certainly couldn’t be further from the truth.

I find it very interesting that freelancer is here attempting to stand up for the show and defending the actors like an upstanding citizen, and dismissing other people’s opinions and comments, while at the same time doing things which the show execs and actors, including Hugh Laurie have spoken out against, namely releasing spoilers, which they have classified as being damaging to the show. I do believe one person mentioning it awful feeling they had a traitor in their midst.
Actually, freelancer is being just as bad as Boo. Freelancer, as close as you may be to TPTB (and don’t think just because of your screenname I’m convinced), but that doesn’t mean you know then innermost workings of Hugh Laurie’s head. He once expressed that as game as he would be with House in a relationship with either Cuddy/Wilson/Cameron, he felt Cameron was too young for him and was a bit uncomfortable with that idea. He never said anything negative regarding a possible relationship with Wilson or Cuddy, in fact, he said that, as an actor, he’s up for anything; as a viewer, he’d like to see House with Cuddy. I find this whole thing rediculous! This is like a kindergarten class! Adults tearing up and arguing about an entertaining show. This show is there for our enjoyment, like so many others every night. Now we are getting into “handwritten letters and memos” that are out there SOMEWHERE!! Give it a break Boo and go watch your detective shows!!!
So enlighten us. Show the proof. If these alleged “verified” papers existed, it would be posted everywhere.They may be taken down & put up again but they would be somewhere. People SAVE these things. The only reason to hide it is because there is no such thing & never was. Prove it or drop it.
