And I do not want to change your opinion! I am going with withdrawals waiting for Book 10 and Season 3 as so many others. I am dying to find out who kidnapped Bill. For some reason I think it is Debbie Pelt? Why, because on TB, Bill released Lorena. How did Bill get the ring, plane tickets and dress so quickly after helping kill off the maenad and staying with Sookie until just before dawn. Maybe he was engaged to Debbie on the show. Heck who knows, just throwing it out there.
Debbie is the only character I can think of in book 3 to do such a thing like Lorena. What do you think?

Amelia was ok, but I didn't really like or understand how she ended up in Bon Temps! I'm sure that if they do introduce her AB will figure out a better way of doing it then CH did. Love the series! The books are an ok fun read, but the TV series is SO much better!

I agree that was the hardest for me to get into. Although I do really like Alcide and the story with Debbie. I hope they do sort of cram a couple of books into this season.

It's already been announced that the "Ugly Betty" guy is playing "Cooter," so I'm guessing he's the Club Dead were. Though it could be totally different story he's in considering how AB changes everything. Harris' books aren't Austin and aren't meant to be but she's a whole and I mean a WHOLE lot better than Stephanie Meyer. And I agree with Donna. I know a whole lot of people who have been reading the books after season 2. Just look at the New York Times bestseller lists. At least 5 of them are still in respectable slots. Once the new box set comes out I'll bet there'll be a slew more who get them for xmas. That 95% figure is falling! And it's a bull factoid anyway, as they use it when it suits them and then when defending changes the other way say "If we went by the books there would be no surprises." If only 5% of the people have read the books what difference would that make?

I so agree. The story lines that Ball is pulling out of his butt are kinda campy. I know he wants to be fresh and keep the material new because so many of us have read the books. But really he should stick to the main points more of the books. Like the triangle between Sookie, Bill and Eric. And how she's w/ Bill but is interested in Eric and then all her other suitors. As well as the mystery/ who done it aspects of the books. But I do give props to Ball for the creation of Jessica and her storyline w/ Hoyt. As well as the change in Sam's family history. And the development of Tara. So some good Ball's done and some bad...

The more I read about who's being cast and for what roles, the more I'm cringing. Sorry, people, but the books are far superior in character and story quality than this schizophrenic mess AB is making of established material that he obviously doesn't know how to handle. The characters are becoming more and more shallow and stereotyped, and in the case of the two leads, Sookie and Bill, BORING, within grossly contrived storylines. I'll give season three a try only because I enjoy seeing Alexander Skarsgard's valient efforts at making the superficially written version of Eric Northman that AB has settled on into an acting work of art. But even I can stand just so much bad writing.

Yes, I know in the book this happens (Eric saving her life from LongShadow - I read the books) but like I say before, on screen would not work, first the audience need to connect emotionally with the characters and for this reason they must show the things in a clear way. So when people understand and all that make sense to them, they can assimilate the layers which each one have... And I appreciate the shadows presence in every character (and in real life too, there's not only black or white) My point is: I understand those changes and I think that is very clever... That catch the audience and turn everybody addicted in this show!
And about the statistics, maybe I were wrong because in Brazil, people doesn't read so much - it's what the statistics say (in general, of course), but considering the millions who watched the Season 2 with the number of sold books, I don't think they are majority. I think some people let the admiration on Eric not to consider others interpretations and expectancies! Well, thanks for the conversation, I enjoyed! Ohhh, and I don't wanna change your opinion, just exploring the topic...
