You can fuhgeddabout widespread rumors that says Desperate Housewives is on the verge of whacking Drea de Matteo.
A Housewives insider insists there’s no truth to a report in The National Enquirer claiming the Emmy winner is being written off the show for budgetary reasons.
Per my source, the terms of de Matteo’s Housewives contract — which calls for her to appear in 20 of this season’s 23 episodes — remain unchanged.

I would argue season four is the best. Strong mystery, the tornado, Nathan Fillion, Katherine before she became nearly insufferable, the cancer storyline and that brave, brave flash forward.

Yeah, I’m glad she’s sticking around. The story is tired – we’ve seen the neighbor with a secret thing a million times now, most recently with Katherine – but Drea brings some life to what was becoming tired.
I’m loving Angie way more than Gaby or Lynette these days.
