Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’d say there’s a fair amount of anticipation surrounding this week’s Observer-centric episode of Fringe. I’m also fairly confident that, given the chance, you’d much rather watch the entire installment now instead of waiting until Thursday. But since that’s not going to happen, I present you with the next best thing: An exclusive first look at the eppy’s first three adrenaline-pumping minutes…
Pretty creepy-cool, right? Fox certainly thinks so. The network is pulling out all the stops to spread the word about the episode — and that includes dispatching a dozen or so “real” flesh-and-blood Observers around the U.S. later this week. To track the chrome-domed ones, visit www.facebook.com/theobserver. And please, if you like what you just saw, tell a few friends. While Fringe enjoyed a nice ratings bump last week, I’m not going to rest easy until the show climbs back into the 7 or 8 million-viewer range. And I think this episode has the potential to do that.
Did the teaser successfully whet your appetite for this Thursday’s eppy? Sound off below!

I LOVE YOU MICHAEL!
I’ll concur on the “Aus-omeness” of posting this fantaastic sneak peek of this great show that just continues to get better!
Why did you have to make me think that Dollhouse may have gotten picked up by another network?!
Seriously. Bubble? Burst.
Me too, I was hoping SyFy picked it up!
I ran around for an hour yelling MAYBE IT’S UNCANCELED MAYBE IT’S UNCANCELED! I feel lied to.
I argee, it was cruel to play up on the hopes of Dollhouse fans. I was really hoping there was good Dollhouse news, only to be met with a ‘Fringe’ exclusive.
Fantastic preview — worth the wait! Heading to tweet about it now!
Is this a joke?
Well that’s disappointing.
I stayed up hoping it was going to be something finally about Jennifer Morrison.
Fringe = yawn.
Who is Jennifer Morrison?
Jennifer Morrison = ?
Fringe = great television!
(You’re only yawning because you stayed up for news about some Jenny chick.)
Who is Jennifer Morrison? Sorry if you are disappointed but this is great for Fringe fans.
MA tweeted that he would have some news about House, Dollhouse or Fringe. Then he said he ran into Jennifer Morrison of House.
Great news for Fringe fans but I don’t watch the show. I wanted news about Jennifer Morrison.
And the rest of the show besides the last 3 minutes will be boring as hell. Just like all Fringe episodes!
Sounds more like FlashForward to me.
ha! so true
Awesome! Maybe I missed it, but why does this Observer look different that the one we are used to seeing before?
There’s more than one observer. I guess you could say they’re kind of a “race.”
Great preview tho! Can’t wait for Thursday and am crossing my fingers for the ratings too!
WTF Ausiello? Why did you play with my emotions, thinking it was Dollhouse. I’m so mad right now.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! so freaking awesome, can’t wait for thursday!
CAN’T WAIT
Man, I waited HOURS hoping it was Dollhouse!News! As in, Dollhouse has been saved news! And this? SUPER LAME.
A-freaking-men.
Honestly, if you thought that dog of a show was going to be picked up by anyone, anywhere, your disappointment is your own responsibility. Face facts.
Dog? Dollhouse? Hardly. I notice that a lot of Americans get distracted by the bit of titilation (sexy stuff), but most of the show has nothing to do with sex – and the entire brilliance of the show deals with issues far more complex and subtle. If you can’t follow that sort of thing, I suppose that you wouldn’t like the show. Too bad for you.
My rule used to be (after Wonderfalls) “No Fox unless Joss Whedon,” but I have changed it to “No Fox period.”
I thought maybe Syfy was going to pick up Dollhouse, despite what was said.
Um… this isn’t about Dollhouse!!! Who cares about Fringe?
Well considering it has double the amount of viewers of Dollhouse, I’d say there are a lot more people who care about Fringe than there are people who care about Dollhouse.
Thank you! all these ppl need to stop! Sorry about your show, but Fringe is awesome! and considering you were a Dollhouse viewer, scifi would seem up your ally. have you ever seen an episode? give it a try!
True!!!! Dollhouse fans should watch Epitaph one and get over it! It’s gone and no subway compain can save it. It doesn’t deserve it.
dollhouse was given a 2nd chance, they blew it…i am so happy with the way fringe is going…its very cool!!
Someone obviously did not know that it is DOLLHOUSE that is the MOST Tivo’d show …. and I don t own a Tivo … I watch both at it’s scheduled time (but viewers like us aren t counted in the Nielsen family)
What is your problem? We’re mad because Ausiello gave us a chance that our show had not been cancelled by mentioning it in the post. It is almost like the show was cancelled twice now. None of us are saying Fringe sucks we just think that it was a really stupid thing for Ausiello to make us think that Dollhouse got picked up by someone else. You really don’t have to be such jerks about Dollhouse and making fun of how it sucked…
Kristi, who’s being a jerk? Certainly not me. All I did was defend Fringe when someone implied that no one cares about it. I just stated the facts. Fringe has more viewers, therefore it’s safe to assume that there are more people who care about Fringe than Dollhouse. I never even brought the quality of Dollhouse into question.
This is ridiculous. No one cares about Fringe. That show is worse than reality TV reruns.
Please, only tease us if you truly intend to give news that matters: like Dollhouse being continued on another network.
The only way you could know this is if you watch reality TV reruns.
That’s sad.
Well, no accounting for taste (on your part). Fringe is a great show and solid sci-fi, and is clearly vastly more popular than DH. I’m also a fan of Dollhouse, but between stupid Fox executives meddling and TSCC fans trying their best to destroy Dollhouse (apparently inaccurately blaming DH for the cancellation of TSCC), Dollhouse never had a chance.
Poor Dollhouse!
TSCC had better ratings than DH,
The only reason why it got renewed was Whedon.
So yes, Dollhouse is to blame!!!
I don’t think TSCC had better ratings than Dollhouse if I recall correctly. TSCC always had like rock-bottom ratings. Love me some Dollhouse, but Fringe is great too and has a lot more personality than DH to be honest.
And mel, TSCC made zero money for Fox. They were NEVER going to keep it no matter what DH did. They are unrelated events people.
RA is correct. TSCC ratings were a touch higher, and the show was pretty boring. The main reason, however, was the prohibitive cost of the show. Fox should not have bothered at that price – it was never going to last, and it never made any money for the network.
I have to admin I was hoping the along the same lines as the rest of us here that DH had been picked up by SyFy. While I do think Fringe is a great show and this was an awesome preview, you have to understand you kinda screwed with a lot of people!
