I’d love to see Catherine Keener as Cappie’s mother, but I’m sure she’s busy being awesome somewhere. I would also settle for Catherine O’Hara. Any Catherine will do, really. I think it would be awesome to see another Ferris Bueller alum join Alan Ruck on ‘Greek.’ Maybe Mia Sara and Matthew Broderick as Mr. and Mrs. Cappie?

Before I even clicked on this article I was thinking “I bet Cappie’s parents are Hippie’s”.
I did not mean to put an apostrophe there. Oops.
We already knew they were hippies. Cappie made a joke about them not celebrating thanksgiving because they side with the turkey.. I got the hippie impression from that!
yes, it’s a well-established fact that his parents are hippies. It’s been mentioned several times throughout the series. And, it’s the reason we don’t know his real name. He calls himself “Cappie” because his real name is too embarrassing, given to him by “hippie parents with a fine tuned sense of irony.”

John Corbett is a great choice. Maybe we will finally learn what Cappie’s real name is since I doubt his parents call him Cappie.

I think Cappie’s real name is:
Capricorn for the zodiac sign. Having hippie parents sure makes it work!
but his name is supposed to be “ironic.” This, to me, means that it’s NOT something you would normally associate with a hippie.
Tracy Nelson as Cappie’s mom and David Shatraw as his dad. Ray Wise is FAR too old to play 40’s..
If we’re going with early 50s, Melody Thomas Scott would be a great choice. Although not known for her comedic talents, she was great as the Pill Popping Mom on My Name is Earl.
