Team Darlton is on the prowl for an “interesting” actor in his 30s to 40s to play…
Seamus: A scientist with some physicality to him, this guy’s not afraid to take charge and give orders. Recurring potential.
Casting suggestions? Theories as to who Seamus really is? Head to the comments!

ADRIAN PASDAR.
No?
Adrian Pasdar is a good idea. But I think Skeet Ulrich would be great. He had the physicality down in Jericho he could definetly look like a scientist as well.
Adrian Pasdar might be a good option yes, now that he’s been let go from Heroes. Maybe Balthazar Getty? I could totally see him in a role like that.
Part of the Dharma team in Ann Arbor, perhaps?
James Spader. He would make a great bossy scientist and would love to see him argue against michael emerson – maybe order him around. I thought he did a great job on BL during his closing aurguements. Plus he looks like he could be a Seamus. But if “physicallity” means beefiness then I’m not so sure.
Nathan Fillion?
Already had a role on LOST.
He did? How did I miss THAT?
Yes, he was Kate’s husband in “I Do”.
Carlos Bernard
Vic Mackey aka Michael Chiklis
If he’s being called Seamus he’s probably Irish so my only wish is that whoever’s cast can do a decent Irish accent
Liam Cunningham would be perfect.
Jason O’Mara from Life on Mars. Hottest Irishman on Earth.
I’ll second that.
Ooooo. Good choice!
Yeah
brilliant idea!
ADRIAN PASDAR would be AWESOME!
The number of guys around here (Massachusetts) named Seamus doesn’t require an Irish accent. Everyone I know seems to know a different Seamus. It is also a popular middle name that people think is cooler to say than the James, Stephen or Michael most guys seem to be named. I am betting he is the “good” guy in Ann Arbor, maybe a lot like Jack from the first season.
Liev Schreiber?
Alexis Denisof. Then again, I want him to be in every show in existence.
I hear ya, Andie, I hear ya (says the girl who named her cat Wesley). I think he could do very well on Lost.
Lost often puts fake names out for casting calls so the character may not be irish at all.
George Wendt
Sorry I meant Damien Lewis from Life. Great Actor!!!
I like this idea 100%!
totally agree, but i can see where you got him confused with george wendt.
Agreed. Since Charlie Crews has disappeared my “Life” has been “Lost”. (Sorry…)
Great idea! I totally agree!!
agreed. loves me some damion lewis
Vincent D’Onofrio or J.K Simmons would be great actors for any role and I would love to see them on Lost’s final season.
How recurring can it be with only one season left? And not even a whole a season?
I am interested about all these characters they seem to be adding though. I am looking forward but also dreading the season starting because that would mean it’s almost over.
Recurring is actually a term applied to a season, not the entire show. So a recurring role for Season 6 is just that – a recurring role within Season 6…as in you would be back for more than a few episodes, spread out over the season.
Richard was a recurring role in S3 and S5 for example, then became a regular for S6.
And not sure what you mean by “not even a whole season”. Lost is getting 18 hours this year, and that is a full season by the standards that ABC agreed upon when the show’s ending was determined.
I’m sure they mean that because filming has already started in Hawaii for S6, the character wouldn’t be there for ALL of S6.
How about alternate-timeline Jack?
Matthew Macfadyen – was Tom Quinn in MI-5, so the physicality/taking charge/giving orders would not be a problem.
Ooooh yes please.
Matthew Macfadyen would be a wonderful casting choice!
I agree. MM would be an excellent choice!!
Brilliant choice! MM would be perfect!
Matthew would be a great choice! He is one of those actors that is so natural in his performances he doesn’t seem to be acting at all. There is so much going on behind those eyes. From Tom Quinn to Darcy to the Sheriff of Nottingham to Prior Philip (Pillars of the Earth), he can inhabit any role.
Alexander Siddig
I’m throwing my vote in for Liev Schreiber or Damien Lewis. Love to see either of them back on TV.
Dominic West would be amazing.
GALE HAROLD. He´s a great actor
My thoughts exactly!
Couldn’t agree more! Perfect!
I totally agree. Gale Harold would be awesome!
Couldn’t agree more. He has the physicality, being tall with great arms and chest. He’s already proven that he’s wonderful in a part which calls for a “confident, in your face, listen to me and do as I say attitude.” He’d be perfect.
JAMES MARSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Completely agree. I think James Marsters should be on every TV show.
Maybe there is the group of people like Jacob who run things. Maybe we’ll see them in a flashback.
Could seamus be Gerald Degroot?
Either Sidig or James Callis.
My Name Is Earl?
Jason Dohring?
David Tennant
James Marsters
I’m more concerned with why it says “recurring POTENTIAL.” This is the last season. Shouldn’t the writers KNOW who is gonna be recurring and who won’t be and EXACTLY where this story is headed?!
Jason Isaacs from the HP movies and Showtime’s Brotherhood. He can pull off intensity in his sleep.
I think it’s just industry lingo, has to do with billing, pay, etc, or maybe depending on the actors they get for a couple roles the storyline can bend or flex a bit to make one or the other larger/smaller depending on who they like or think will be more compelling. “Recurring potential” means the writers retain the flexibility to alter the actor’s contract based on their needs.
Adrian Pasdar.
I would say yes to this too, except that I think Pasdar is probably going to be looking for a starring role in a project of his own fairly soon — might not leave him time to take on a shorter-term role on a show that’s ending. If he did have the time/availability, though, I’d love to see him on “Lost.”
Why is everyone saying him. I don’t see him as a scientist or a tough guy. yeah I’d like to see him get anther role after heroes but i’m sure there is something better for him out there.
I think he would be good, BUT I’d rather see him find a staring role on a new show.
