Is Betty leaving the nest again? Looks that way judging by the following casting scoop…
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Fisher Stevens is joining Ugly Betty in the potentially recurring role of Mr. Z., Betty’s dry, sarcastic new landlord.
In casting the part, Betty producers were looking for a “New York actor who could go head-to-head with America Ferrera.” I’d say the Short Circuit/Early Edition/Numb3rs thesp fits the bill.

I’m just so glad you didn’t say love interest! So yay, fun. Looking forward to seeing Betty on her own again.
Never seen the show, but Fisher Stevens kills whatever he’s in (in a good way). His old show Key West was excellent.

The writers made me so mad when they had Betty move out on her own last season only to have her move back with her father and annoying sister. They better not pull the same stunt this season!
It’s great news if Betty is getting her own place (again). She has grown up, works hard and has earned the right. I was really bugged last season when her family guilted her into moving back home. I just hope it’s not a hole this time.

loved him on the show with the newspaper (First Edition?) he can be very sarcastic. thats a good thing for this show
I love Ugly Betty. I am glad to see her character becoming a little more mature, I like the fact that this is a show where the good wins over evil. I find it to be refreshing in television to see the good guy win without blood shed.
betty is cool and keep me on my toes when i start to give up she make me think how srong I’m and how to let dead beatse go.

I love watching Ugly Betty, by far a fun show that always keeps me on the edge and laughing at the same time. Matt looks great with the weight lost and new hair, Amanda is even funnier than before, Mark is always great, and Willamina and Daniel will always keep me on my toes…I hope the show doesnt flop cause its on Fridays, i love this show.

I find it interesting that both the frizzy hair and bushy eyebrows disappeared in ep 1 and no one in cast commented on this, besides hilda saying she liked it longer. The reference to the braces coming off in a few months, really makes me think theyre pushing for Betty to look more like America by the end of the season, making it feel that they are certain they aren’t getting another season.
