Is there anything more magical than a casting scoop that breaks the proverbial fourth wall? I think not.
Case in point: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jerry O’Connell has booked a multi-episode arc opposite his real-life wife, Rebecca Romijn, on ABC’s increasingly addictive drama Eastwick.
O’Connell, who will appear in the final two episodes of Eastwick’s initial 13-episode order, will play Colin, a hot new neighbor of Kat’s (Jaime Ray Newman) who is hiding a dark and magical secret.
This isn’t the first time the happy couple drove to work together. Actually, it’s the third. Two years ago, Romijn guest-starred on O’Connell’s short-lived ABC comedy Carpoolers. And prior to that, O’Connell made a cameo opposite his then-fiance on Ugly Betty.

THANK YOU! I’m glad that someone besides me thinks that Eastwick is addictive! I wasn’t even planning on watching this show, but I was hooked by episode 2. Too bad about its ratings…
Eastwick IS addictive! I was not sure about the pilot, but I am really enjoying it now. I hope it gets picked up for a full season!
I also love this show. It’s just such a fun way to spend an hour.
man, I miss carpoolers.
…me too!…
Man, I miss Pepper Dennis. But it’s nice to see Rebecca and Lindsay working together again. Now if they can only get Josh Hopkins and Brooke Burns to guest star…
I’ve really been enjoying Eastwick and I think Jerry is a great actor .. I look forward to seeing him on the show!
Nice scoop Michael, but EASTWICK is getting clobbered and if you like it as much as your above quote seems to have indicated, can you talk it up some more. Thanks
Yes, please mention Eastwick more so it can get some much-needed attention!
Dark secret?? Ahhhh I love this show!
I LOVE this show!! I hope it gets picked up for a full season, it’s a much needed change in the TV circuit. Very addictive and super cute. Please talk about it more and get more people into it!
I really didn’t think I would end up watching this show, much less actually liking it. But I’ve kept sticking around on ABC after Modern Family and Cougar Town since there wasn’t much else on to watch. And I’ve found myself really enjoying it! It’s kind of a guilty pleasure.
I also had no intentions of watching it, but was hooked from the first episode. Hope it survives!
How exactly does this SCOOP break the fourth wall? ANSWER: It doesn’t. There are no walls around the scoop.
Even the CASTING does not break the fourth wall, unless Jerry and Rebecca will be doing something onset that is not described in this post.
Seriously, Michael, where did you get your education?
Thank you! Eastwick is my third favorite show, but I feel as if this show is going to go the way of Pushing Daisies if it doesn’t get more viewers, even the Jay Leno show sometimes has more ratings.
Whomever this Jake guy is, he is totally right.
I hope more people will watch this – it’s a fun show. I think people are afraid to get into it, fearing it will be cancelled with the story unfinished. But Paul Gross – yeah!!!! I STILL miss “Due South”.
Paul Gross is awesome, and Due South was one of the best shows ever! I’m so glad others remember it.
I loved “Due South” and like Paul on “Eastwick” as well. He’s hysterical, and not bad to look at either.
I thought Jerry was in law school at Southwestern. He’s gonna film around classes? Sounds like quite a schedule.
i was thinking the same thing. i’m in my first year of law school and it is insanely time consuming. maybe he’s part time or he dropped out. he could be filming over winter break. If he is full time, he’d need to get special permission to work because the ABA has rules. Rules, I tell ya!
Ok so this is just a desperate attempt to get ratings for a failing series!
