'Gossip Girl' exclusive: Nate's hot cuz returns!

Categories: Gossip Girl, News

gossip-girls-cousin_lA Gossip Girl insider confirms to me exclusively that Broadway vet Aaron Tveit is reprising his role as Nate’s wealthy cousin, Tripp Vanderbilt, this November for at least six episodes.

Idle Gossip says the politically minded Tripp will announce that he’s running for office (possibly the senate) and Nate will get involved with his campaign. I’m told Holley Fain, who played Tripp’s fiancée, will also be returning for multiple episodes.

Tveit will juggle his Gossip arc with his current gig on Broadway in Next to Normal.

In other GG casting news, Sarah Steele (Spanglish) has been cast in the potentially recurring role of Kira Abernathy, a Constance Billard student who attempts to befriend queen bee Jenny. Her first episode airs Nov. 9.

No thanks. He’s a poor man’s Sam Page.

  • Andi

One quick correction: His last name is spelled Tveit, not Tyeit

  • Tim G. (@rural_juror)

    Awesome. Love me some Tveit.

old news ausiello, us broadway stalkers have known this since he started missing weekday performances of next to normal about two weeks ago. he’s a fabulous talent, wish him all the best!

  • Alyssa

SIX EPISODES?? oh my god that’s way too much! who cares about him?? DAMN!!

  • cibele

Anything Nate related is NOT INTERESTING. I wish he had less and less scenes.

  • Kate

booooooring, dont care about anything nate related i want chair scoop

  • Kacey

I mean, I want to see Chace Crawford as much as possible, but I just don’t understand what the writer’s are trying to do with Nate. He’s so boring.

  • michelekamay

Well, welcome back, Aaron! I actually liked him last season.

I thought it was about Nate. This season, Nate is as boring as the adjective, why do the creators keep throwing him into the sheets of some random girls??? Bring back his father or re-create a love triangle Serena/Nate/Blair or Nate/Serena/Dan or Nate/Serena/Carter or Serena/Nate/Vanessa or Serena/Nate/Jenny or whatever!!! There’s a world of possibilities for Nate!

Chace Crawford is too hot to be so neglected!

    • Susan

I agree, but leave Serena out of it. Blake and Chace have ZERO romantic chemistry and it would be freaking awkward. Nate should fight Jenny’s new beau Damien. It would be especially funny considering Kevin Zegers and Chace Crawford look like they could be brothers. LOL.

Sarah Steele is a great actress! I saw her in “Speech & Debate” in New York a couple years ago and she was really impressive. She should definitely be recurring. Either way, Little J clearly needs friends!

    • Brody

Lucky! I so wanted to see that — mostly because I adore Gideon Glick — but I couldn’t get tickets. “Speech & Debate” was the first thing I thought of when I saw her name here, though.

  • Jackie

YAY! I am so excited to see Aaron Tveit again. He’s an amazing actor and it will be great to see him on tv again since I can’t make it out NYC to watch him on Broadway everyday :(

  • mads

Yay! Aaron is GG’s saving grace in my oppinion.

  • Dory

Awesome. Maybe they’ll find a way for him to sing on the show. He has such a fantastic voice.

  • Trixie

Man, if they have a lot of Nate-centric episodes, I’m going to fall asleeeeeep. He is the most pointless character ever. He doesn’t even interact with the rest of the cast anymore. BORING.

I wonder is this Gossip Girl insider was a Warner exec calling Ausielo to let him know he had not yet met is CW based quota on coverage yet?
Gotta love watching EW’s credibility go down the tubes.
