No, the show’s tentative March premiere hasn’t been moved up. Not yet anyway. But sources confirm to me exclusively that NBC will begin streaming old episodes of Chuck on NBC.com this Monday. The move will give new and lapsed viewers a chance to play catch-up prior to the launch of the show’s third season. Episodes being streamed include the Chuck pilot and the entire second season (rolled out five episodes at a time).
And wait, there’s more… NBC.com will also stream the entire first season of Southland beginning Oct. 9, two weeks before the drama’s Oct. 23 second-season premiere.
Bottom line: Watching two of TV’s best series just got a whole lot easier!

YAY! Good timing, too. I need to catch up with Chuck’s second season.
Hopefully this means we have these episode for free on Chuck Me Mondays.
Damn you Ausiello, that headline totally got me dreaming of a November premiere. *shakes fist*
They need to move it up. It’s absolutely ridiculous that they’ve chosen to lose the momentum of the Save Chuck campaign by waiting until March to premiere it. It’s like they want to kill the show. It’s a fast moving, fickle world, and not everyone will remember this show when it comes back. It’s a shame a network wants to play it like that.
Totally agree! It’s like NBC is taking all of the $ spent on renewing the show and flushing it down the toilet. That’s my fear. Hope I’m wrong…
I can not believe we have to wait till March to see Chuck. You’re right they need to move it up. What is wrong with NBC?
The complete first season has been streaming off of Warner Bros site for a while. That’s probably why they’re focusing on the second season on NBC http://www.thewb.com/shows/chuck
Yea! I missed a few episodes and was feeling left out. Woo Hoo!
Me, too. I lost NBC for several weeks while they fought with Time Warner Cable. I can now watch the missed episodes. Awesome!
“NBC.com will also stream the first season of Southland beginning Oct. 9, two weeks before the drama’s Oct. 23 second-season premiere.”
I’m confused by this. If you go to the NBC.com site, on the front page it says “Watch Full Episodes of Southland Online”. The Season One episodes of Southland have been on the NBC site for some time now. You can also watch the last 4 episodes of Season 1 on Hulu.com. They had the first few episodes up on Hulu a few weeks ago. So, as far as I know, the Season 1 episodes have been available online.
Somebody please clear this up.
NBC.com and Hulu both streamed the first season partially, and on the same schedule – eps 1-4, then eps 4-7 – but the whole season was never available for streaming in full. If you go to either site right now, all you’ll be able to watch are the last 4 eps.
That’s awesome news. I missed most of the second season so now I can catch up and be ready for Chuck 3.0 in the spring.
Awesome! I watched season 1 of Chuck on Netflix and wanted to watch season 2 before the premiere! I’m really enjoying it so far. Now my only question is why wasn’t I watching sooner?
spread the word! woot!
Big deal!
Ok, I can kinda be ok with this. For those who weren’t watching before, they can now get hooked before 3.0 starts. The real question is if NBC will put any ad $ into the show. They spent loads of promos on Heroes last season…how about showing Chuck some love, so people know it’s on???
I agree 100%. I watched Heroes at first, but have no interest AT ALL and would love to see some new Chuck! This will have to do until the network gets it’s act together and figures out what is good television. I am not holding my breath, naturally…
I’m with you on this one Jennifer. I could careless about Heroes. I want to see new episodes of Chuck.
Great. Luv that Chuck. I shall name it Chuck Luv
I have a feeling Ausiello posted this just to get a Chuck mention in.
Yay! A great way to get new viewers!
This is good news! Though I’m still unhappy we have to wait so many months for new shows. I just don’t get those bigwigs at NBC.
Why haven’t they moved the episodes up yet? NBC’s fall premieres look terrible.
can’t watch in Canada ):
Jenny, go to surfthechannel.com. I live in Germany and get all my shows on there.
I dont watch chuck. That Tv series needs to end.I dont like it.
I say that the Tv series chuck needs to be on Another Network.
Aw, I was hoping it would be something more exciting than this. Most of the show is already available online, anyway (on TheWB and Hulu). I hope this means they are considering moving it up, though!
Boycott NBC until CHUCK returns! That’s what we’re doing . . and we’re a Nielsen Family.
Spread the word! NO NBC until CHUCK returns.
LET THEM KNOW WE COUNT !
I agree.
Jay Leno is soooo much more entertaining than “Chuck”. Yes, that’s sarcasm.
Like we need five nights. Come on NBC.
Good news
I hope they will move up the Chuck premiere date though. January, perhaps?
It won’t be January – NBC’s committed to showing the Winter Olympics for most of February, which means there’d be a two or three week break in the middle of the season. I’d rather wait than have that and see the show lose momentum once it DOES air again.
I’ve never had a problem finding NBC promos for Chuck> they promote everything. It will also get a huge boost from promotion during the February Winter Olympics. If you have the DVD don’t just tell people about it; let them borrow your copy. Give it at the holidays. Sorry, I’m not shilling for them, but that’s what you need to do, rather than boycotting NBC. I’m off to the Buy More to watch Jeff play video games….
Perfect! The second season doesn’t come out on DVD until around December 15 or 16 (at Wal-Mart at least), so it’ll give me a chance to keep hooking people on the show. Season 1 DVDs of Chuck make awesome gifts.
ok. I’ll stop with the informercial, but I love me some Chuck!
Go Chuck! Let us see it sooner! We’ll really watch it this time! (Not that we didn’t before…)
Why Is NBC waiting to show new Chuck episodes especially when they know the show has millions of fans. Don’t get me wrong I love Jay Leno but I don’t need 5 nights of him.
Hey, NBC. How about 8-10 eps before the Olympics, then 8-10 more after. That way, you can build excitement all over again.
I’ll just re-watch Season 1 DVDs and the Season 2 I’ve recorded from Virgin 1. Unless the content is unlocked for non-US viewers
.
Chuck! Chuck! Chuck!
