Some of your comments make sense people. But Smallville has gone longer then any other Superman show ever. If you don’t like it , don’t watch it, and if you do stop complaining. It’s got a great cast, and good stories. They leave the realm of the DC universe at times and some episodes could have been better. But over all this is by far the best it’s ever gotten. To the cast and crew, thumbs up !!!!

I think Adrian Paul would be a much better choice to play Jor-El. He looks more like Tom, is the right age to play his father, and has the accent. I would love to see him on television again.

I think Sands is a great choice to play Jor-El. Jor-El has traditionally been an “older” father. I think Julian Sands is a much more attractive choice than lets say Marlon Brandon? I really like Julian Sands so cannot wait!

First Julian Sands is great so I’m looking forward to seeing him as Jor-El. Next wasn’t Terrance Stamp doing Jor-El’s voice? Now he’s old!
Fabulous actor but old. Last, I saw a picture of Julian Sands’ real son, he looks quite a bit like Tom Welling so this really makes sense.

For people moaning about age continuity, remember that Jor-El was in his mid 20s when he visited earth in 1961 per the episode relic, and Clark was born in 1987, so Jor-El would by Smallville continuity have been 50ish when Krypton exploded. Thus, the age of the actor is quite appropriate. The use of the word “young” in the spoiler is perhaps inappropriate, but I assume that’s in reference to the silver haired Brando from the films.

As for the hair colour and whatever, we’ll see, but it really doesn’t matter to me. I for one am thrilled at getting an actor of Julian Sands quality on Smallville. I’ll always remember him for his role in A Room With A View.
