Armchair Casting Director: 'Lost'

Team Darlton is on the prowl for a Caucasian actor between the age of 12 and 14 to play…

Teenage Boy: Sporting dirty blond hair and intense searching eyes, he’s wise beyond his years. He finds himself having to deal with a horrible family accident. Recurring.

Doc Jensen’s take: “Dude, I only have one word for you — Sawyer!”

Who are we to argue with Doc J?! Now on to more pressing matters: Who should play him? Post your casting tips in the comments!

Could it be Aaron? He always seemed to have an importance to the island, and we know Claire is returning in Season 6, so it may be the time to resolve the Aaron story.

I know in-series Aaron is only 3 years old, but knowing Lost, anything is possible…

  • Rinjo

Sounds a lot like Sawyer– McCauley Culkin is still available right?

    • kellybelly

If it’s Sawyer — they already cast a young Sawyer for an episode when he had to kill Locke’s dad (who was the crook who caused his parents deaths). They showed a yound Sawyer under his bed.

    • Josel

Macaulay is 29 years old now! Is that comment supposed to witty?

  • Matt Kremkau

    It’s JACOB!!!

    • Steve

As a big supporter of the aaron is jacob theory i have to agree with you. Maybe we will see a grown up Aaron on the island (played by the same actor who played jacob) and we will get the flashbacks about how he got there

      • Heidi

OOOH I like the way you think!

      • love_ya

Jacob was Christian though wasn’t he? Sitting in that chair? So Jacob is Aaron is Christian is Jack’s uncle/father LOL. Too much!

  • JohnnyJM3

Yes, it sounds like young Sawyer…perhaps “reliving” his Traumatic Life-Changing Moment of his parents’ killing through his young self? Maybe that’s the kicker of the final season for the main characters. Jacob visiting them at key moments of their lives last season certainly hinted at that.

  • Lisa Simpson

    Young James Ford.

  • Ampersand

I’m betting on grown-up Aaron. Being all spooky and special with his Island heritage?

  • Q

Hmm, i was thinking Charlie since we’re pretty sure he’ll return this season. But I guess Aaron is probably more likely, especially if time has been reset – perhaps the “family accident” is the plane crash that brings claire to the island in the new continuum!

    • KClark

Charlie a.k.a Dominic Monaghan is already on another show. See “FlashForward”

      • Brian

See “Same Network”. Definitely not outta the realm of possibility.

    • charlie

i am inclined to think Charlie as well. cause we already had the whole “sawyer deals with tragedy” bit with the funeral and such.

as for Aaron, or Little Charlie, that would mean jumping time up like 5-10 years which I can’t really see happening. I can see them maybe pushing things up a couple of years for the amusing bit of bringing things full circle and having the show in and out of show end on the same day just as it began on the same day. but not go that far ahead

  • angie

oh, or it could be new charlie… as in, desmond and penny’s son. he was blonde… hmmmm….

    • Q

oooo! I think you’re on to something. Ack, family tragedy – I love des & penny too much to contemplate.

  • Lori

    Either Sawyer or Aaron.

  • Joe

Hasn’t young James already appeared at approximately that age last year?

    • Vetinari

I could be wrong but my impression was that the boy playing young Sawyer in season 5 was playing him at about age 8 or 9.

  • Mari

    Young Jacob!

  • Vetinari

Sawyer, no question. I guess we’ll be seeing Jacob interact with Losties in their past some more.

  • Izziebee

Could it be Jacob, as a young man? He’s blond ….

  • Annie

    Definitely Jacob!

  • Lisa Simpson

Well, now that it’s been confirmed to be Sawyer, what does it mean? And how many more months do we have to go until the season starts? And, most importantly, what will we all do with our lives once the show has ended?

    • Mary Q. Contrary

No confirmation. If you’re familiar with Doc Jensen’s ponderings, you’ll know that NOTHING he says can ever be confirmed.

      • Lisa Simpson

It was from another site, and it was something I had misread (or mis-scanned before lunch).
