Pop quiz: Name a show Garret Dillahunt won’t be on this season. Burn Notice, you say? Wrong!
The former Sarah Connor Chronicles killing machine, who in the past month has completed guest stints on CSI, Lie to Me, and Law & Order: SVU, is en route to Miami to shoot a role on the USA smash, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Dillahunt will play Simon, a scary-smart new client of Michael’s (Jeffrey Donovan) — and perhaps the first person to outsmart him. The episode — which will air this winter when the show returns to finish out its third season — also features the return of Frasier’s John Mahoney as Management.
I’m thinking Dillahunt’s agent deserves a raise.

Frakkin’ AWESOME!
Wow…brilliant casting. To me, he will always be the guy who shot Wild Bill on Deadwood. And the scary psychopath on S2-3.
Arguably one of the better psychopath types to grace the screen. He slices, he dices, he makes julien fries. Sucker’ll be a fine addition to any drama that needs a heaping helping of wacko in its storyline.
Actually, he’s already filmed the Burn Notice finale. There are pictures at SpoilerTV. Also, Jeffrey Donovan tweeted that they were done with season three the other day.
I thought Dillahunt was playing the guy whose crimes got Michael into trouble to begin with? Judging from the pictures, he seems to be connected to Mahoney’s character somehow.
Cool. He was great on “Sarah Connor Chronicles” & “Life”. Sigh. I miss those shows.
OMG, I thought it was crazy when he did Life AND SCC last year. This is going to be an insane year for him!
Someone needs to pick him up full-time, yesterday! He does creepy/scary/funny/wtf like few others. And is hot. So there.
Anyone remember him as Jesus on Book of Daniel? Awesome! Also awesome in just about everything he does…Love him.
When he gets him another leading role, i’m sure his agent will get that raise
Gasp! Management is back! More people to challenge Michael. Burn Notice come back!
He didn’t shoot Wild Bill, some old drunk did. Dillahunt shot up the whorehouse.
That was one of the most frightening characters in the history of TV.
There is nothing that could make me more interested in watching Burn Notice, as I love the show already, but this looks to be an interesting casting move. I can’t wait to see how the second half of the season will play out! Thanks for this tidbit.
Management’s back? Yes!
Yeah he did, he played two characters on Deadwood!
I’ve been a fan of Dillahunt since I first noticed him in a series called Leap Years. I’ve been following his career ever since, and he keeps getting better and better. As long as he keeps acting, I’ll keep watching.
Yippee! One of my favorite actors on one of my favorite shows. Shout out to my fellow Deadwood fans!! This guy is an incredible actor; he’s exciting and unique in everything he does.
i love any news about Burn Notice because this show is so wonderful and i am happy that USA has it because if it was on NBC or ABC, they probably would have canned it because its just in their nature and even FOX is on that list since they ended my beloved Prison Break and unjustly ended Terminator but kept Dollhouse thriving!!!!!
I can’t wait. Garret is a great actor. And Burn Notice is a favorite show of mine.
Great news on Garrett. I love his acting style and hope he one day will have his own show or be a regular on a show that doesn’t get cancelled, (The 4400, Sarah Conner, Deadwood). It’s been bad luck, so I hope he finally finds a home to showcase his excellent acting skills.
Credit to Heather Havrilesky of Salon for one of the all-time great comments. Regarding Dillahunt’s character on “The 4400″ Ms. Havrilesky remarked, “You don’t know whether he’s going to give the Sermon on the Mount or kill all the first-born.”
(And I’m thinking this also applies to Michael Emerson on “Lost.”)
I’ll always remember him as Roman Nevikov from Life. (Sniff.) He does play creepy very well. Perfect for True Blood.
Brilliant casting. Dillahunt is a masterfully talented actor. I loathed him in Deadwood but still watched his every move. He can do drama, comedy, horror, psycho seamlessly. Best Dillahunt can switch from small screen to big screen and still command it. Something other actors have not been able to do.
He did an arc on Life too.
Пожалуй так оно и есть, на самом деле все очень просто
