Routh’s character, Shaw, is a mysterious new spy who takes control as the new leader of Operation Bartwoski, becoming a mentor to Chuck and a rival in his affections for Sarah. He first appears in this season’s fourth episode.
Bottom line: Who better to teach Chuck how to use his powers that the Man of Steel himself?!

Ditto. I don’t want to wait till march and I want more than 13 episodes. On Routh I still can’t fathom how he got into superman or became known at all. He can’t act. He’s stiff. And not in a good way.

Why, is Casey currently the leader? They’ve brought in leader types before, usually creates great conflict with Sarah and complications for Casey. Or maybe Casey goes (temp.) bad…love Casey, so I hope it doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing less of him…
It’s never explicitly stated ( I think…), but it’s sorta-kinda hinted at that Casey’s the one in charge of Operation Bartowski. And in the pilot it’s explicitly said the NSA is taking over, so…
But I doubt Casey’ll go bad, even if temporarily… probably this guy’s coming in just for the sake of Charah… and Casey’s screen time better not lower! He’s the awesomest thing on the show lol
Didn’t Casey earn a promotion near the end of Seas. 2? I’d sure hate to see less of any of the cast we’ve come to know and love in Seas.’s 1 and 2…newcomer’s usually mean exactly that.
I loved Casey’s ”attitude at all times”, Alec Baldwin is ‘Awesome’, in Seas. 3 where do we find Ellie and Capt. Awesome, Morgan, etc.?? We do know already Chuck ‘knows’ Kung-foo.

I doubt very much we’ll wait until March. All networks have cancellations. They’ll need something to replace shows with and it’ll be Chuck when they are forced to shuffle.

Awesome scoop Ausiello! .. I don’t think I can wait till March for Chuck. How many times can a girl watch two seasons over and over again?! I have however, created my own little “Chuck Campaign” I just started working at Blockbuster, and have been forcefully encouraging customers to rent Chuck!

I totally agree, though I was thinking more of “vs. The Beefcake” & “vs. the Lethal Weapon.” At least *that* guy would have been believable as taking the reins of the operation because he was a bit older. This guy is too young for this kind of role, I think.

I don’t really know what to think about Routh. I mean, it’s a great reference, but i don’t know what to think about him as an actor. And, yeah, please, NBC, don’t make us wait until march for Chuck.

Exciting casting news, but I have to admit that the prospect of another love triangle makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. Haven’t they overused that enough already? At some point people will just assume that Chuck and Sarah never had that much going on between them to start with if they each keep finding other love interests so easily.

I still can’t believe NBC didn’t utilize the Summer to play back Chuck Season 2. That would hsve brought in more converts to “Chucking.” Instead, we had to put up with Summer filler garbage. I don’t want to wait until March for new episodes. Chuck should be coming back in the Fall.
