No, not hoops legend Michael Jordan. Up-and-coming actor Michael B. Jordan!
The alum of All My Children and The Wire is joining Friday Night Lights as Vince, East Dillon’s resident troublemaker. Although charming at times, the junior running back can be dangerous and menacing—a result of his crime-riddled upbringing. He quickly finds himself at odds with the team’s new pretty boy Luke (played by the just-cast Matt Lauria).
Like Lauria, Jordan is a series regular.

FANTASTIC news! He was great on AMC and especially The Wire! This is a great casting coup!
I’ve never seen The Wire but I’ve heard it’s supposed to be fantastic. So I’m sure he’s great. Although I want Coach to be at Dillion next year and with all these new series regulars being at East Dillion, I’m kind of bummed about that b/c it doesn’t sound like he’ll be going back anytime soon.
It’s always a good thing when someone from The Wire appears in anything. Brings a smile to my face.
Really liked him as Reggie on AMC, too!

I love this casting! Wallace (and all of the kids from The Wire) were so awesome!
That’s Wallace?…didn’t even recognize him (it has been awhile since he got killed). Glad for the break..Micahel on 90210 was too soon. You remember?…..I don’t.
At least I won’t spend half the season trying to figure out where I know him from like I did with the kid from the sandlot in Mystic River.
I’m always excited to see people from “The Wire” working. I’m really looking forward to seeing him on the show.
I like this kid. Good choice!
He is SO cute!!
Aww, Wallace is all grown up! And for those of you who haven’t seen The Wire, it should be next on your list b/c it is amazing.
AWESOME NEWS. I loved him in The Wire, can’t wait to see what he brings to FNL
Yo, where Wallace at?
hell yeah. great cast call!
The scene from the Wire where they betray him and kill him. He started crying and begging them not to kill him. From that scene along that boy should have been a rising star.
Congrats to Mr Jordan!
His time is now! I just saw him Friday night…Michael is great in the N networks new comedy”The Assistants”. I can’t wait to see how he impresses me on FNL; I know I won’t be disappointed!
