Brace yourselves, Huddy fans: House creator David Shore dropped a mini bombshell about your favorite couple at Fox’s press tour party last night.
Discussing what impact last season’s imaginary hook-up will have on House and Cuddy’s relationship this fall, the exec said, “We’re stepping back from it a little bit. We’re not ignoring it. We have to carry forward… It’s going to go someplace eventually. But the beginning of this season is primarily focused on House trying to find some semblance of sanity, and not completely succeeding.”

It’s going to happen eventually? When House and Cuddy are in an old age home? I’m not a major Huddy fan, I think Cuddy was better with Wilson, but if they are ever planning to get House and Cuddy together, the sooner the better. Three years ago preferably.
I agree with Vetinari. A step back, on Huddy, really? When I heard about Huddy in the beginning, I just wanted it to go and run its course. But that was years ago. They’re really taking a while on this.

You suck. Huddy is the best couple ever and they are not gonna dropp it so easy.
I am a Huddy fan, and I ttly understand what DS is saying. After the events of last season, they can’t suddenly put the focus back on Huddy after House’s breakdown; they have to slowly but surely take him out the asylum and intergrate him back into the Hospital. If they didn’t do that, it would become too unrealsitic and more soapish.
If it takes until the other half of the season for Huddy to pick back up again, I’m okay with that, because I know they won’t just brush it under the carpet. They have to decide which direction to go in, and I expect one or two good Huddy episodes next season

so the Huddy needs to go someplace but the House/Cameron didn’t after 3 seasons,the original first seasons,after being there from the start. Now,I’m all for everyone getting something but this is just unfair. At least if House/Cam got one night,something happening once,some resolution,some satisfaction it would have been more logical ,fair to the fans too and the actors but noooooooooooo !
Well,let’s see who will ,in the end,remain on board because everyone keeps forgetting there are more Hilson and more HCam and more general House fans than Huddies

I like the idea of Huddy, but I think it would be ridiculously unrealistic to concentrate on their relationship when House is coming back from a mental institution. I do think they will wind up together eventually and I don’t think the storyline is being scrapped but there defintiely are other priorities. I am excited to think Cameron, Chase, and Foreman will reunite! I am can’t wait for this season to start

Shore’s lying through his teeth again. Kind of difficult to integrate Chase & Cameron when the actors aren’t even on set (Epps, Wllde & everyone else has been back for weeks filming the first half dozen eps). He didn’t have the courtesy to even include them in the TCA event (all the rest of the cast is there except them).

Good move. They need to step back and clear up a lot of confusion before they can move forward. Exactly WHEN did the hallucinations begin, and did they only involve CTB and Cuddy or did House’s Head make up some other important detail we took for granted? This story angle could eventually allow the producers to rewite an entire season if they spin it that way…just as long as I don’t see anything like Bobby Ewing in the shower.
Integrating Cameron and Chase back on the team A LITTLE BIT? what is it going to be? Will Cameron bring a case to Foreman and Chase will perform surgeries? Wait! isn’t that exactly what they have been doing for the last two seasons? An what happens when House is back? Will they be put on the backburner again?
Enough already with Cameron and Chase.I’ve lost major interest in these characters 2 seasons ago..
Can we please cut them loose and let those guys pursue a movie career or something?

None of us are crazy about 13 and Taub, and Foreman is also turning into a little bit of a bore. If they cut Cameron and Chase we only have House and Cuddy and Wilson left. Great for some stand alone episodes, but I really like ensemble dramas. I think David Shore will have to bring in some new characters if he really followed some of the advice on these posts. As we all know, some of those characters didn’t work too well (i.e. P.I.) Think we should keep C and C, hope he was serious and they’re coming back in a big way a couple of episodes down the road.
Better yet why we don’t cut LE and OW loose and bring back JM and JS as series regulars. I’ve had enough of the former two to last me a lifetime.

Do you mean that LE was boring and expendable during the first three seasons of the show? I remember those seasons, the show were a big hit in the ratings. One thing is for sure, you can’t never trust David Shore, who knows if by the end of next season LE will be put in the backburner again, I think Cuddy’s storyline in the show is done, sex with House checked, a baby checked
Actually, they haven’t had sex yet. && Just because you hate Lisa Edelstein, doesn’t mean you should blame poor ratings on her. And even if she was to be put on the backburner in season 6, she’ll still steal every scene she gets unlike Jesse and Jmo do

I blame poor ratings on many things and the lack of Cameron and Chase is one of them, the emphasis on Huddy, Boreteen and Thirteen is another reason.
I agree with you on the Boreteen and Thirteen bit. I suppose some disgruntled Chase and Cameron fans wouldn’t want to watch episodes without them in it also, so that part makes sense too.

If you seriously think LE doesn’t have a large fanbase or that her character doesn’t either, you are the one with issues, not her. I don’t think either Cuddy or Cameron should be killed off. The catfights need to stop. Unless you want to get some mud and a pit and settle this like adults…

As someone who never wants to see them together and had to stop watching this past season because no one would stop talking about it, I’m quite ok with this news.
The reality is that House isn’t meant to be in a long-term romantic relationship.

We know. Huddy fans (like myself) don’t want him in a romantic relationship with Cuddy, just the acknowledgment and continuous angst is enough (for me at least)
Agreed. The insane focus on one particular ship can’t be good for the show. It’s why the first seasons were that successful, there was flirting with all the girls but no real focus on one.
I think I quite like pining and unrequited love. Think that kind of tension worked best, although I always wanted Huddy before it came up. Of course, we all know the real love relationship is between House and Wilson. The best bromance ever!
