Was really looking forward to this show when I first heard it was coming out–Sam, Rob, Lucy, seemed like Xena 2.0! From the trailer, it looks a little bloody for my tastes, though; drama and danger and fights are fine, but I draw the line at gratuitous blood spurtage, not because it’s scary, but because it’s too reminiscent of those horridly camp slasher movies. Xena is *the* girl-power icon of my generation’s childhood, though, so I’ll check out an ep or two for Lucy (with my hand on the fast forward, natch).
Loved the sentiment about how Comic Con is all about showing the fans some love–perhaps if we could only share that sentiment to some of the more thick-headed among you (*cough*RTD*cough*), things would be great. She always seems genuinely interested and involved, which makes her one of the best stars out there. Lucy, you make the Xena redux and we’ll watch it, no doubt about that.

Renee O’Connor is only a couple of years younger than Lucy Lawless and is a mother of 2…and yet SHE’S already aging BADLY. Maybe you haven’t seen her lately. Lucy Lawless still looks like she’s in her late 20s early 30s.

I agree. Lucy and Renee totally need to come back and make a XENA WP movie. I love Lucy and have since Xena aired. I was a bit of addict. But if you love Lucy how could you not be?
I think it will be hard especially since Kevin Smith (ARES) died. Hard to replace him.
Anything is possible. Yes, Kevin was the quintessential Ares, but look at how Harry Potter bounced back when Richard Harris died. I agree that anyone who would take Kevin’s place as Ares would have nearto impossible shoes to fill, but it -could- be done.
Also, it sorta fits with the series casting…there wasn’t a problem switching Hades.
Can’t wait to check out LL in this new show…and the fact that she gets nekked is just a nice perc
