In past media reports, it was said he had a difficult time losing his Swedish accent and developing a believable American accent. Some actors start using a different accent for practice before it's needed (kind of like how some actors like to stay in character for the duration of a shoot - even in their off time). Then read the books and fell in love with Eric. Sorry Bill Fans as you like to spew your hatred for all things Eric... but many find the viking more interesting and more dynamic than Bill. Whatever floats your boat! I am OK with AB making the show different... it would be no fun watching ever week and saying.... Oh, here is when this or that happens. I will be content to keep the two genres separate but hope that AB stays true to the spirit of the book and gives us the same character that is Eric. As it stands for me now is that AB is afraid to bring on Eric because he knows Bill will fade even more. But that is just me. Either way it is fun to watch the action. And please Ausiello. And as for the Bill/Sookie/Eric storyline - I doubt most of know Alan Ball's intentions, so we don't know which way he's going to go. Tall Eric (did y'all notice how huge his hands looked!?!?!) was sitting in a less aggressive posture, away from the couple. I also wonder how much of Stephen's reaction about the whole Sookie/Eric/Bill triangle involves his not really wanting to watch his girlfriend make out with someone not him. Sure, it's what they do as actors, but that doesn't mean he has to wish that Sookie and Eric get together from a purely personal standpoint. I hope AB keeps Bill and Sookie together, not without problems of course, but give Eric someone else.
