Exclusive: Jennie Garth zips back to '90210'

Jennie-Garth_l Reports of Jennie Garth’s banishment from 90210 have been greatly exaggerated.

The BH vet has inked a deal to return this fall for multiple episodes, sources confirm to me exclusively. Garth reappears in episode 3 when Kelly gives Harry advice on how to deal with his, ahem, situation with Annie.

Last month, I reported that producers had not yet approached Garth about returning for season 2, leading some to wonder how far new boss Rebecca Rand
Kirshner Sinclair was planning to scale back the nostalgia factor. At the time, a show rep insisted that ”the intention is to have Jennie back.” And gosh dammit, they weren’t lying!

Happy Kelly’s returning? Theories about Annie’s “situation”? Sound off below!

Great news! The show is good nonetheless, but the alums add another element that is irreplaceable.

I am happy Jennie will be back, and I am interested to see how Annie’s situation pans out.

  • Shane

I’m so glad! It’s nice to have a balance between the kids’ and adults’ storylines, especially when Annie, Silver, Naomi, et. al. get super melodramatic

  • T.T

it may have something to do with her hit and run/DUI incident
    maybe JUST maybe?!

JG is the only good thing about 90210, I’m afraid. Couldn’t care less about Annie or her situation.

  • Yolanda

Like Kelly on the new 90210. I wonder if Kel will be having an affair with Harry in season 2? Annie’s situation will hopefully make the character more interesting. Poor Shenae Grimes is always thrown under the bus by fans of the show!

  • Christy

Yay, I love Kelly! I’m so glad she’s coming back!

Only good if they stop messing with the original show’s history.

Thank god for the return of Kelly(Jennie Garth)!!!! I wish the producers, Rand Kirshner, and the CW would realize what an asset she is to the show and make her a regular already!

I don’t really care about Annie or her situation. What I really can’t stand is Annie’s whininess. Back in her day, Brenda stood up for herself or stacked the deck in her favor to come out on top. I don’t recall as much whininess coming from Brenda. Annie is not appealing as a character and the situations she’s been put in thus far make me want to fast forward until someone else has screen time. Now Adrienna, she’s got charisma and a screen presence!

who cares, this show is dull boring and cant hold a candle to the original. The producers of the show had their chance last year but integrating the old cast in with the new and they failed miserably by giving us scraps.

    Love her. She is gorgeous.

It’s Jennie’s choice not to become a series regular(she likes the freedom that comes with being recurring).
And to those who gave up on the show after the first few episodes, start watching episode 6 on up. It got really, really good. And the finale was epic.

Wouldn’t bother watching if Jennie wasn’t on it. You know what bothers me most about this 90210 is that the group just don’t appear to be friends. Even when Brenda/Kelly were arguing over Dylan, the core group of characters were friends. They hung out together and their stories intertwined. The same can’t be said for these new characters. And Shenae Grimes’ face acting just annoys the heck out of me. She was my least favourite character in Degrassi and she’s my least favourite character in 90210.

  • Rob

I watched everytime Kelly and Brenda appeared and the finale was good, so I will continue watching. Brenda needs to return also.

  • Rob

The show was great when Kelly and Brenda made appearnces, make sure Brenda comes back to and I’ll continue to watch. The last couple of episodes were good.

  • Jaclyn

Damn. I love Jennie and will have to watch if she’s on the show, but I hate the show. It’s wrong, I tell you. Just wrong. If they would make her the central character and stop introducing someone new every five minutes, watching the show might not feel like a punishment for my undying devotion to her. Wake up, CW!

  • Hillary

What made this show decent was the moments when the vets were there. I honestly think this is the type of show that make the veterans of the original an especially important part. I can take or leave Brenda, but I would love Kelly and Donna back for more episodes. Kelly and Donna are important for Silver’s history and I think it would be awesome to have Dylan and especially David back. Donna needs her fashion store back!

boo….I could do without the vets. I loved original 90210 but just don’t see a place for them in the series. Whenever there on it just reminds that the show is just a redo.

You just made my week… Hell my summer. I love 90210. I watch it for Jennie, Shannon and Tori and Silver! Thanks for the news!!!

  • Mikos

Haven’t watched since the first episode – just not my cup of tea.
But I have to complain about this ridiculousnous- Rebecca Rand Kirshner Sinclair.
WTF? Three names is pushing it for a celebrity. For a producer, even one I like, three is the limit. The LIMIT!
Four is just so beyond the bounds of acceptable that people should be picketing her offices.
    Stop the insanity.

  • Remy

90210 has got to be the trashiest, most shallow show on television.

  • Daniel

they had the chance to make a meaningful moment in the finale when brenda took adrianna to a hospital room and it said: Jim Walsh. that was the closest to a “real” moment in that entire season and it was just a dream.

  • NYLA

I find it funny that people compare Annie to Brenda and praise brenda for being such a strong independent character. At the height of the success of the original 90210 people HATED BRENDA!!! There was a I hate brenda fan club. Monthly newsletter and all. It was only after Shannon left the show and through reruns did people really start to appreciate the character of Brenda and respect how independent she was from the rest of the girls on that show. Give annie a chance. you might come to like as I have. and for the record, Shenae grimes was one of the best things about the season finale. homegirl brought the angst.

She is the only reason I watched the show last year. They should just make her permanent and really ramp up her story … I could live without Donna coming back, but Jennie needed to return and needs to be used more..

  • chuck

Im glad she’s back but if the show doesen’t bring on some appealing talent and come up with better story lines this will be its last season. Rating are just 2.5 million viwers an episode

Love, Love Jennie! Really glad she’s back. The new show runner’s speech about adding “a tennis star” was ridiculous. Jennie is alone a reason to tune in

  • Nancy

Couldn’t care less about bringing back Jennie. Bring back Shannen!
