I’m Super-Ecstatic About:
• Best drama nod for Big Love.
• How I Met Your Mother finally breaks into the best comedy category.
• Jeremy Piven gets snubbed for best supporting actor, clearing the way for Neil Patrick Harris’ long overdue win.
• Michael J. Fox up for guest actor for Rescue Me.
• Emmy voters make Howie Mandel pay for ruining last year’s Emmys by snubbing him for best reality host. Even better: They gave the slot to Amazing Race emcee Phil Keoghan.
• Jim Parsons!
• Jane Krakowski, Tracy Morgan, and Jack McBrayer among 30 Rock’s 172 nominations.
• Aaron Paul breaks through for Breaking Bad.
• Supporting comedy nods for two of my favorite Kristins (Wiig and Chenoweth).
• Elisabeth Moss!
• My incredibly prescient predictions.
Keep reading to find out which nominations/snubs made me want to hit someone in the face sad.
Yawns to:
• Entourage gets a nod for its worst season yet.
• Tony Shalhoub.
• Anything involving Boston Legal.
I’m Super-Pissed About:
• Nothing for the final season of The Shield or Walton Goggins.
• Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton get the shaft again. Also unacceptable: No FNL for best drama.
• Nothing for Chuck or Zach Levi.
• Big Bang Theory is a bust in comedy series category. (But woo-hoo Jim Parsons!)
• Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, and Ginnifer Goodwin get no love for Big.
• Michael Urie’s Ugly snub.
OK, that’s my two cents’ worth. Now it’s your turn. Post your own snappy judgments below.

Happy to see Big Love, Jim Parsons, NPH, Kristin Wiig, Chenowith, and Flight of the Conchords get some love. Actually really excited for all the Best Drama nominees, though I could have swapped out Damages for BSG in a heartbeat.
Angry about the unrelenting need to nominate Entourage (a slot better deserved by Chuck or BBT), Tony Shalhoub & Charlie Sheen (Zac Levi was sincerely robbed for Lead Actor).
Snubs:
CHUCK! The show was truly amazing this year and they could have used the publicity. (I think they only got one nomination for stunt work, well deserved but still.)
Zachary Levi (Chuck)- He deftly balanced comedy, action, and heart breaking drama this season…he anchors the show for a full hour and that’s not something many other people could pull off. Here’s hoping they get it right next year.
BSG – Whether you liked the last episode or not, the show was phenomenal and gripping in it’s final season.
EJO & MM (BSG) – Mom and Dad of the fleet were so deser
I can’t believe Rescue Me is not on that list. Denis Leary and the show have been the best this season and no recognition except for Michael J Fox guest appearance. It’s BS
“I can’t believe Rescue Me is not on that list. Denis Leary and the show have been the best this season and no recognition except for Michael J Fox guest appearance. It’s BS”
YEAH!!!! I second that!!!
No Heigl. Seriously. Come ON, that was her best work yet. Chandra and Sandra are fine actors, but this wasn’t their season.
>.> No Supernatural love.
I do hope NPH wins this time! And Jim Parsons as well! Sad about no Chuck noms but there is always next year.
I LOVE that House got nominated for Best Drama and Best Sound Editing or whatever that was. I’m also glad Hugh Laurie got the nod! Cograts to him and the show! What I’m EXTREMELY pissed about, is that Lisa Edelstein from House, was ONCE AGAIN, overlooked!!! It’s an OUTRAGE!! What more does she have to do to get even just a nomination???!
what about chuck? gahhh
EJO & MM (BSG) – Mom and Dad of the fleet were so deserving of a final recognition. I think the gap in time from the nominations and the finale + the prejudice against genre shows is to blame. But seriously…this is a HUGE slight to the incredible work done by these two actors.
The Big Bang Theory – Another geek show that I love, but at least Jim Parson’s got his due. It’s cool that Family Guy picked up a nomination for Comedy, but I think they should have kept it in the animated category so either Chuck or BBT could take that slot. IMO those shows were more deserving.
True Blood – The first season was incredible, but I think this one will crop up in next year’s batch of fresh faces.
I would imagine the Rescue Me snub is due to the writers strike…. not sure they met the deadline for something on air. Anyone know?
you’re so right about FNL Ausiello.
They deserve so much!!
and so happy for Jim Parsons!
How about no Desperate Housewives? and Damages.. should have not been that much on the categories. Maybe just Glenn Close.
Excited for Jim Parsons, chandra, lost.
Tony Shaloub.. he just won’t die, will he? AND DExter =)
Loving Miguel Prado to be as a guest actor.
Mariska Hargitay is there. That’s all I can see.
No love for Chuck. what a bunch of crap! I’m glad for the Flight of the Conchords noms, but I still feel like Zac Levi was totally robbed. He deserved it more than any of those others. Entourage? Are you joking?
In addition to your notes, I’m also excited that Pushing Daisies and BSG get a few final noms in the technical categories and that Dr. Horrible is nominated in its special category (!!). Also love the recognition of PBS’s stellar BBC mini-series import, Little Dorrit (though I would have liked a leading actor nod for Matthew Macfadyen) and all the non-fiction noms for This American Life’s amazing ep, John Smith.
I’m estatic that Kristen Chenoweth got nominated for Pushing Daisies but what about Lee Pace?
It is inconceivable to me that any Emmy voter could not recognize the leads of Friday Night Lights as some of the best acting on any show. You are right on about that.
What I’m happy about: Knowing this is the last chance Boston Legal will have to outrage me.
What I’m most mad about: Kevin McKidd and Justin Chambers getting snubbed due to the last year of Boston Legal

Pissed about FNL being completely snubbed, especially Kyle Chandler. Would have like to have seen January Jones and Katherine Heigl be nominated over Elizabeth Moss and Chandra Wilson.
I agree with most of the list, but I’d like to add a we things:
I’m Super-Ecstatic About:
-Lost getting back into the Best Drama category
-Justin Timberlake getting a nom for his outstanding SNL hosting
Yawns to:
Mariska Hargatay gets another nom. Really?
I’m Super-Pissed About:
-No acting love for Josh Hollaway or Elizabeth Mitchel from Lost
-No love for BSG in ANY major category
-COMPLETELY agree on the lack of Chuck love
Battlestar Galactica getting a snub for the acting categories. I know it is sci-fi, but, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better *drama* on TV last season.
Am thrilled to see a Whedon work in one of the “18 words for a name” categories….”Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog!”
Where is the Chuck love?!? Emmy awards are rigged! WTF! Chuck and cast shouldve at least got nominated. Some shows on that list are so crappy it’s a huge surprise they made the list.
Neil Patrick Harris!!!!!
How I Met Your Mother!!!!!!
Delighted that “House” and Hugh Laurie got the nod. But I agree, Lisa Edelstein deserves a nom, and so does Robert Sean Leonard! And what about the rest of that incredible cast? (Excluding Olivia Wilde, who can’t act her way out of a paper bag.)
Grey’s didn’t get the recognition it deserves at all. Glad KH didn’t get a nomination though… that would have pissed me right off. If she got one and Ellen Pompeo didn’t. Oh… there would have been a riot alright. LOL.
And no nomination for Ellen Pompeo or Patrick Dempsey. Are you kidding me! Gosh… if Patrick can’t get one, how do they expect Justin Chambers to get one? :S
It’s just wrong.
Why does Ellen get snubbed every year? She’s AMAZING!
I am happy for Sandra Oh, and Chandra Wilson. But they’re supporting actress regulars these days. Yey for the make up nominations. For both normal and prosthetic.
I think Tyne Daley and Eric Stoltz should have got nominations for Guest stars though. Now Sharon Lawrence who played Robbie Steven’s… Izzie’s mom.
I hate awards shows. The actors/actresses/shows fans think deserve credit never get it.
No Cobie Smulders.
Neil Patrick Harris!!!!
How I Met Your Mother!!!!!
Well as far as I’m concerned the omission of Chuck from the list pretty much signifies the lack of credibility of the Emmy’s.
The writing is awesome, the lead cast are awesome- very dissapointing.
Callie Thorne, Walton Goggins and Josh Holloway should sue.
And can anybody really argue “Family Guy” is superior to “South Park?”
are charlie sheen, jon cryer, and tony shaloub permanently tattooed to the emmy nominee list? are they actually evil-doers who threaten the lives of kittens, puppies, and baby seals all over the world if they don’t get nominated? do emmy voters get some kind of kickback for nominating them? i’m thinking one of these things MUST be true, or zachary levi, jason segel, and lee pace would have totally been nominated. also, i know mariska hargitay fought a collapased lung this year, but damn! connie britton fought a jumbotron! AND blinged out katie mccoy! and buddy garrity! she deserves something for that. onwards to golden globes hopes.
my main complaint is that Simon Baker got nominated for The Mentalist.
James Roday should have gotten a nomination before Baker!
but is there ANY Psych on the list? NO! not even in a weird category like..lighting!
and technically, Chuck did get a nom:for STUNTs! wish they got a real nom but its better than nothing i guess.
ps: yay for HIMYM and not 2.5 Men!
I’m sick of seeing Sandra Oh get nominated EVERY year…Such a waste of a nom. She’s good but this wasn’t exactly her season. If she didn’t get a win during the 3rd season, it’s prob not happening for her. Leave her off the nominations sheet.
I’m most pissed off about Elizabeth Mitchell being snubbed again. She was snubbed last year which was a shame, but this year too?! What gives? She’s better than most of the nominees.
LOVE Chandra Wilson though – She makes Greys for me.
