Danneel Harris has closed a deal to reprise her role as pot-stirrer Rachel Gatina in at least seven episodes next season, beginning with eppy 7.02.
Harris made her Tree Hill debut as Brooke’s high school nemesis in season 3 but wasn’t made a series regular until season 4. She was written out in season 5 after only a handful of episodes, an apparent victim of the show’s four-year flash forward.
In other Tree Hill news, the last of next season’s new contract roles has gone to Nuevo 90210 grad Jana Kramer. She’ll play Alexis, a model who becomes the new face of Brooke’s clothing line. As previously reported, Lipstick Jungle’s Robert Buckley and relative newcomer Shantel VanSanten are also joining the cast as Nathan’s sports agent and Haley’s sister respectively.

It’s about damn time. I missed Rachel on OTH. She’s instant drama all the time, something OTH can use now that Luke, Peyton and Dan are gone. I love her scenes with Brooke and can’t wait to see the two of them getting into it again.

I didn’t think I could get any more excited about next season. First Peyton and Lucas finally disappear, then Austin Nichols signs on for the season and now Rachel returns. This show might actually be half-decent from now on.

and yeah it will be good to have rachel back so they can resolve the ‘cliff’ if she really took the money

Well, actually, she was only in like 2 episodes season 5 and not from the beginning. So she was technically inadvertently written out after season 4, returned briefly in 5 and will be back briefly again it seems in 7.

YAY! I’m so excited Rachel is coming back -I lover her character. I was sad that she left in Season 5 with that cliffhanger and never returned but now she has!
I also would like less screentime for Millie (I like her but..), and Mia (HATE her). So we can focus on the main characters.
Atleast some of the old cast members are coming back. With having Chad and Hillary leaving the show.. it is a good idea to bring back a familiar face.

Oh thank God! Its about time they bring Danneel back, and luckily she’s starting to make a name for herself now. In an interview at the premiere of Fired Up! Danneel herself said that she doubted Rachel took the money, so lets see if Mark does the smart thing and listens to the actress’s take on her character. After all, Danneel knows the character better than anyone else.
YES!!!!!!!!!! I have been rewatching OTH and remembered how much I LOVED Rachel! I’m so glad she’ll be back on the show at least for a while.

Rachel is my favorite character! Im glad shes FINALLY back. But ill miss peyton. And lucas is the MAIN character:( That sucks.
