'Friday Night Lights' video: Connie Britton drops by with MAJOR scoop!

Connie-britton-ausiello_l[1] How do I love Friday Night Lights‘ resplendent, Emmy-worthy leading lady (and Ausiello TV guest) Connie Britton? Let me count the ways…

1)    She modifies her summer travel plans in order to appear on my fledgling web series.
2)    She breaks major freakin’ news about FNL likely ending in 2011: “I think the intention is to do two more seasons and then that will be it.”
3)    She says funny things that make me giggle. Like this: “I’m pretty sure in the next two seasons there’s a very strong possibility that Tami will have an affair with a student.”
4)    She humors me when I offer her Emmy submission advice (and video evidence to back it up).
5)    She breaks major freakin’ news about who will and won’t be back full time in season 4.

I could go on forever… or I could just direct you to our exclusive video Q&A after the jump. My typing skills suck so let’s go with option B. Enjoy!

You think it’s major news that the show will end after the next two seasons? i figured everyone who watches TV and heard the news figured it was ending.

  • Mooshki

    She is just too awesome.

2 years? That’s IF it lasts 2 years. Isn’t it on its last legs?
    She is a hottie though.

The show has been renewed for two years already. There’s no IF it will last two more years, it WILL. I love this show. And it sucks that it’s so under-appreciated as it’s easily the best acted show on regular television.

“Last legs” – Get a clue (or better yet, get the third season DVD). FNL is as amazing as ever.

Fix the video, it’s not working!!
    I wanna see!

  • Scott King

I hate your videos. The player never buffers right. So then I have to let it play. Pause it. Let it play. Pause it.

  • Casey Schneider

That was great Emmy advice. I hope she takes it.

  • Impatient

Scott, I totally agree. It’s very frustrating sitting here as it reloads every other sentence.

  • Casey Schneider

Michael, you are one of the few who get the whole Twitter/Blog relationship. You never waste a tweet, and you always get me to follow your links. Then..Good Stuff! Thanks.

  • Morgan

How do you not love that woman? Impossible.

  • Chritine

AMAZING, I adore this actress, I would watch her read the phone book!

  • Kalie

Love her. She looks terrific in this video. FNL is such a wonderful show and I’m so glad we have two more seasons to look forward to.

  • Si

I thought Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton insisted to producers that they never wanted their characters to have an affair?

  • wtfnyc

Great advice on the submission scene, Ausiello — I COMPLETELY agree. I also completely agree (i) that CB reeeally needs to be nominated and (ii) no affairs for the Taylors!!

  • Jenn

Love her! Love the show! Thanks to Connie and Ausiello for the delicious nine minute interview and for giving her some great Emmy advice. She’s been robbed too many times and she needs a win.

  • Michelle

Please, please, please – if there is a God, then she will win an Emmy. And Kyle, too. Or just one of them. Preferably both.

She is brilliant – in a brilliant show. Just seeing that scene at the end reminded me how much and why I love FNL. Can’t wait for Season 4.

  • Jelana

Oh, the Emmys suck. If they didn’t, they would have honored this show two years ago. Same boneheads who completely ignored the existence of The Wire. No credibility whatsoever.

  • Jennifer

Ugh! What is wrong with your video player. It takes an hour to watch a 10 minute video. Appreciate the interview though it’s hard to piece together all the sentences with so many pauses in between to buffer.

  • Tuber

    Connie + Kyle = PERFECTION
Seriously Emmy, WAKE UP and recognize the best on-screen couple in recent TV times.
So glad to hear that we get at least two more years – I was going through Kleenex at season 3’s farewell resigned to that being the finale.
Thank goodness DirecTV came to the rescue of this incredible show and that we have a couple more years to see Coach and Tami make East Dillon into a winner!

  • Molly

Oh my goodness, I love her. I am a recent convert to the show, but I devoured the DVDs and am now firmly on the Friday Night Lights bandwagon. She and Kyle Chandler are perfect and I wish them any and all accolades they can possibly get.

  • chattypatra

An amazing interview. I admit I stopped watching the show when they had the Landry accidentally killed the bad guy and dumped him in the river bit; now I want to catch up and keep watching!

  • Matt

Tami have an affair with a student? Nein! Non! Nyet! Unless…how can I register at Dillon? Is it too late for the fall semester?

  • Cub

What a charming, talented, gorgeous woman Connie Britton is. It is absolutely criminal that she hasn’t been recognized with every award possible. On a show filled with excellent actors and performances, she consistently shines.

  • Lindz

Ausiello… you pretty much rock. Thank you for the interview and for your championing of “Friday Night Lights”! Connie Britton is beautiful, funny, smart, gracious, and so, so talented. EMMY’S WAKE UP!! Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton are the 2 best actors on TV today!

  • Ana

It is an absolute CRIME that Connie does not have an Emmy OR even nominated.

  • pifferdiff

Friday Night Lights is the best show on TV! Every single one of the actors deserves an Emmy.
