I hate how Smallville continues to get pushed back and ignored.

I hate how Smallville keeps getting pushed back and ignored.

You have to give credit to the network for pulling this off.I never expected 90210 to succeed, and it was a hit during its relaunch last year.
Now they’re bringing Melrose back…and that will be a hit. You see The CW knows its demographic. MOST of their shows are more female driven (I said MOST)… so they know how to exploit that.
But moving Smallville to Friday for its last season is inexcusable.

Smallville gets pushed back and ignored?? The show is in its NINTH season, if the network was ignoring it, it would’ve been canceled a long time ago. It should’ve ended 3 years ago, anyway…
Also, I hope Melrose Place bombs and drags 90210 along with it… Hate 90210 2.0…

  • LA

Smallville has been in a downward spiral of suck for awhile now so no wonder they put it on Fridays!
I’m hoping GG stays on Monday’s @ 9PM — less competition against other things I watch at the same time!

  • KamenFan

I sware to god! CW will Die in my heart when Smallville and/or Supernatural ends. Damn.

  • Josh Emerson

You know the reason Gossip Girl is moving to 9 is that the CW doesn’t want it to keep getting destroyed in the ratings by Secret Life of the American Teenager. The CW is supposedly a broadcast network, ABC Family is cable, yet Secret Life gets almost double the viewers of GG.

  • Olivia

I wonder if the CW will ever go HD or continue to live in the dark ages…

  • J

@ Olivia – The CW does broadcast in HD, if it’s not in your area, call your cable/satellite company. It’s been in HD for a few years now.

90210 preceding Melrose Place….welcome back to the early 90’s, everybody.

  • Mia

Kamen, Supernatural is definitely ending after this upcoming season, it’s been written that way since season 1. And judging by the death time slot Smallville has been given, that’s probably out after this season too. I’ve never watched Smallville but I have to start getting used to the fact that Supernatural (my FAVORITE SHOW ON TV) is ending in less than a year. Sob! I hope they make a Supernatural movie, that would kick.

  • Lila

    This sucks.
Damn only moved GG over to 9 because it was losing to OTH consistently and The Secret Life killed it. She is so transparent. She does’t give damn what happens to OTH as long as her spoiled child GG does better.Who does this woman blackmail?
And let’s not talk about Poor Smallville. That show doesn’t deserve a move.
Dawn S is a bias *** kisser. I hope she continues to flla flat on her GG/90210 loving face. I never remember a president so bias and retarded.

  • Mia

YEAH! on the Gossip Girl move!
How about that ALL the network chiefs pull their heads out and fix the Monday schedule.
Gossip Girl, House, Chuck & Dancing with the Stars are all on at the same time on Mondays.
Why must I choose between 4 great shows? I only have one TiVo!
Then on others days, nothing but crap.

  • MiaS

Two different Mias, both smart, are commenting.
    I am YEAH! one.

  • Chris

I agree with the posters who said that she only switched One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl in order to protect Gossip Girl from The Secret Life of the American Teenage. She can’t have her favorite show continue to be trounced by a cable show now can she.

  • Wickeddoll

Right there with ya, Mia! But I respect Kripke and Co. for quitting while the show is still good, instead of dying a slow, painful death, like “Smallville”.

  • Dudleys Mom

Josh Schwartz exec produces both Chuck and Gossip Girl. He may have lobbied for this move, so that they are not head-to-head when Chuck comes back mid-season. Although Heroes is so bad now, maybe the impetus for this is putting OTH against the ridiculousness that is Heroes.

  • JRose48

I hope Vampire Diaries dies so that Smallville can go back where it belongs.

  • KMW

Will OTH flash forward have a baby for Naley? They had their skanky bathroom stall sex in the finale, and now I’m sure they will be having a new baby! True?

  • v

I grew up in the 90210 & Melrose Place era. I think bringing it back is so lame, however, they cancel shows like “The Game”…I followed that show even when they kept moving the days & times around. The only shows I watch on CW anymore is GG & Top Model..everything else can go to hell.

  • KendallJaye

    SQUEEEEEEEE for Supernatural!

  • Sandi

When is Ausiello gonna have the scoop on WTF happened with Sam Witwer on Smallville? Rumor has it he was offered the chance to come back and said no due to the awful finale. We went the real story! Please?

  • ally

NOO!!! I do NOT like the switch of Gossip Girl to 9pm because that’s at the same time as Heroes!! AHH! wat do i do???

  • Mike

So instead of keeping a great show like Reaper, you axe it and reair a crappy ANTM show 24 hrs after the original airs….F’ing Brilliant…way to go CW.

  • Bill

Heroes was moved to 8pm est, and I think its a great move because there are already too many good things on at 8pm. I don’t think secret life and gossip girl have the same audience. Besides, secret life sucks.

  • Bill

Oh and smallville and OTH should have ended years ago.

  • Eric

Ally, there won’t be a conflict between “Gossip Girl” and “Heroes”. NBC moved “Heroes” to 8:00 Eastern. http://www.nbc.com/upcoming-shows/

  • KB

Actually Mia, Jared, Jensen, and Misha have all stated that the Kripke interview may have been taken out of context, and that he only had material for at least 5 seasons. The boys say there may be sixth. Who knows, either way, Kripke won’t allow Supernatural to just fizzle out.

  • ann

Most Gossip Girl viewers watch online. The writing on Gossip Girl is about 1,000 times better than The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Just thought I’d throw that out there since many people here seem to be trashing GG.

  • arwen

Smallville is the highest rated scripted show on the CW. And after 8 seasons I can’t believe how disrespected its getting being pushed to Friday nights.
