With so much attention focused on the Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay talks, I nearly forgot about the up-in-the-air fate of another Law & Order: SVU vet: Stephanie March.
I say nearly because I just did some snooping and learned that the actress has quietly inked a new contract to continue playing ADA Alex Cabot.
How lengthy is her commitment? Read on and find out…
NBC declined comment, but an SVU insider says March’s pact calls for her to appear in a minimum of 10 episodes next season. The show is expected to introduce one or possibly two new characters to fill the ADA void when Cabot isn’t around.
March, who left SVU’s full-time ranks in 2004, returned for a six-episode run last spring. Her first episode back was one of the show’s most-watched of the season.

I’ve never watched her on Law & Order, but I liked her on Conviction….which probably nobody remembers or watched.

I agree with Mavis. She was always my favorite ADA, but I learned to love Casey because I had to. So excited to hear she’ll be back – just wish it was as a series regular.

Ryan, I watched Conviction and liked it too (and her on it). She’s by far the best ADA they’ve had on SVU. Casey was okay, but this last lady was just horrific! So horrific I never bothered to learn her name.
This is great news for SVU.
Now, if they can ink Chris and Mariska for Season 11…it might just put this show back in top form, like the earlier seasons.

Great news! Stephanie March not only does a great job as Alex Cabot, but is so breathtakingly gorgeous it will be great to see her continue on the show! Diane Neal comes a close second, though (those eyes!).
I didn’t like her character. I thought Greylak was perfect, just needed time to develop (like Novak). Too bad Mrs Flay pushed her way back in.
