Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the first official House scoop of the new season: Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda has been cast as House’s psych hospital roomie, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Miranda, best known for writing and starring in the Broadway musical In the Heights, will appear in at least two episodes beginning with the show’s sixth season premiere this fall.
A House insider tells me producers are looking for other “interesting actors” to populate the psychiatric facility that became House’s home in last month’s finale. So if you’re an actor who excels at riding the crazy train, forward this story to your agent ASAP.
Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes the first official House scoop of the new season.

LIN-MANUEL! Awesome! Ha, right around Tony time!
YES! YES! YES! LMM is awesome and he’ll tear up that screen as House’s roommate!
OMGOMG!! I missed the buzz of a new spoiler, and now I have one I can’t contain my excitement!!
Soooo looking forward to this. It’s going to be like a Circus trip for the first few episodes
LIN!!! I can’t wait. I hope that they get him to rap something…
Crispen Glover would be great for one of these roles!
This news just made my day!

That’s a great start for a spoiler. Keep them coming Ausiello, but nothing like last year..you had us fooled with Huddy sex!
I am a big broadway geek and In The Heights is just incredible. This news made my night. I rarely ever watch HOUSE. But this made me want to watch it in the fall
OMG!!! I rarely comment but this news MADE MY YEAR!! I love House and I love Lin and this combination–PERFECTION!!!
This better be for serious, or my soul will die. OMG. Holy crap on a cracker.
LMM is my hero. The man RAPPED his Tony speech last year.
This has just made my life on about 96,000 different levels.
The only thing “good” about House being placed in a psycho ward is that it will give the writers more excuses to include Amber in future episodes!
How about Silas Weir Mitchell, aka Haywire from Prison Break?
Btw, Mike, did they ever cast the role of Wilson’s schizophrenic brother? Because I think Nathan Fillion would be great in the role, if it’s a guest spot only.
Now thats a duo that will be fun to watch.
I miss HOUSE already!
HUGH LAURIE is A M A Z I N G!!!!!!
Christina Ricci is perfect to guest star!

Let’s give the show a Batman spin and include Dr Crane (the insane psychiatrist) in the mix. I would die of happiness like the BatNerd I am. I’m SO for this asylum arc. I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it.
At the risk of getting him to re-hash his ‘Traders’ schtick…..DAVID HEWLETT!!!!!
(David Shore was even a writer/producer on Traders, so there!)
lol @Karamel with a K… I guess you miss Wilson even more?
Thanks for the House scoop Michael! Now go get an interview with Lisa Edelstein or Hugh Laurie.. pretty pretty please?
I love this ‘House in a mental hospital’ twist, but does anyone else see the obvious season 6 episode coming? Some medical mystery hits the psych hospital. At first House doesn’t belive it is real, thinking it is all in their heads…or his, but eventually he becomes the only one who can solve it. Predictable…and yet I can’t wait!
Sounds good! I hope season 6 will be better than season 5 (next to season 4 the weakest imo, despite some highlights like House’s breakdown), and this sounds promising! Can’t wait to see House fighting his way back to his old self!
