Just returned from NBC’s upfront infront presentation. Highlights below.
• Peacock co-chairman Ben Silverman confirmed that Life will not go on. (Bubble Show Cheat Sheet updated accordingly.)
• As I reported earlier today, the fates of Medium, My Name is Earl, Chuck, and Law & Order will be decided on or before May 19.
• If Chuck is renewed, it probably won’t be returning to Mondays. Silverman said Heroes would be paired with "a new show" on the night (my guess: Parenthood)
• NBC is prepared to move forward with Law & Order: SVU with or without Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay. "There’s an offer on the table," said co-chair Marc Graboff, cryptically.
• Special guests included Amy Poehler (wearing a swine flu mask) and Donald Trump (wearing his soggy raincoat).
• Light refreshments were served. And enjoyed.
(BTW, if you were following me on Twitter you would have known all this already. Just sayin’.)

Shoot!! I was hoping for a Life pickup. If Chuck goes down too then my non L&O NBC pickings are really slim.
Chuck and 30 Rock are now my only two NBC shows since they canceled Life. Save Chuck!
Life is gone…it was expected. I’m not sure about putting a new show with Heroes, because Heroes isn’t exactly the network’s strongest show.
As for SVU… they better hope their stars return.

Life has been canceled. Tragic. Tragic. I really enjoyed Life. It was the only “cop show” I could stand to watch,.
I agree that the Exec’s at NBC must be brain dead. Come on 30 Rock
and so much other shows with no creativtiy. NBC just ended their own “life” with me when they killed he show that gave the network “Life”. Please someone with a brain please pick it up and put some Life in to your network.

I can’t believe they canceled life, it was by far the best cop show on TV, and now we will never know what happens. stinks, shame on NBC they should of at least gave us a 3dr and final season to close it our properly
We already knew the show would go on without them – the question is, how long it will LAST without CM and MH. Not long, if you ask me. All I know is that after a decade carrying the show Benson and Stabler deserve a proper sendoff. Ending things now would be awful and disrespectful not only to CM and MH, who are responsible for this show’s success, but to the fans as well.
Well at least Chuck is out of the Monday @ 8pm slot. I’d like to see NBC put something there that will do any better!

Interesting showdown I hope the actors do return for another season.
I will really miss Life. Loved the chemistry and was looking forward to seeing where it was headed.
Expected but disappointing. NBC did not serve this show well. Hope Damian and Sarah do wonderful work elsewhere. Cheers to Life!

While I’m really disappointed about Life being canceled, it’s not really a shock. I hope Damien Lewis finds a better network to work for. Life and Chuck are/were the only shows I watched EVERY week. I catch My Name is Earl occasionally. So, I guess if Chuck’s gone, that doesn’t leave much. And I agree with the previous poster about Life being the only cop show that was worth watching. It gave us the week to week stuff, but was tied together so well with the arc. That’s a dang shame it’s canceled.
Wonderful, they leave cr@p like Donald Trump on yet, cancel Life and STILL will not renew Chuck. Trump must have pictures of some NBC executive buying drugs or something.
What ever new show NBC puts Monday Nights in Chuck time slot is going to fail. Think about it Chuck fans are not going to watch it. And other shows already at the time slot have establish fan base and those fans will watch there shows and won’t switch over. NBC needs CHUCK
I’m so tired of falling for shows that NBC cancels. LIFE….so now I’ll be moving over to USA Network…TNT…at least there they give the shows a chance. Maybe if NBC was more responsible with their finances they wouldn’t give us hours of awful reality shows….cheap filler!
Can Silverman’s comment about Monday night mean Heroes and a new show will be back in the spring?
I read that it was likely for Heroes to return after the Olympics, and maybe with Day One.
When are networks like NBC going to figure out that fans won’t give new shows a chance if the network just keeps cancelling them. The only show I watch on NBC is Chuck and if they cancel it, I just won’t watch their network anymore. Why would I? I know I can go to CBS or TNT and I know that a show is given a real chance to succeed.
NBC – you do not get it. You are canceling shows that make people feel good. In these times, we want Life and Chuck. Get a grip on reality please and I am not talking about more reality shows.
SAVE CHUCK! BRING BACK CHUCK!

Loved Life. Damien Lewis *made* that show. He will go on to better things, as will everyone else. Still, sad to see it go.
Bloody He**! I’m disappointed about Life being cancelled. And if a network exec were standing in front of me right now trying to give some lip about #’s I would remind that person that they moved the show’s time slot around so much, and skipped so many weeks that you needed to be a psychic to find out when it was on! This is a great example of total mismanagement of a great show. No wonder NBC can’t make a buck. Good luck to Damien Lewis and the rest of that excellent cast. What a shame.
They cancelled Life. Wow. Epic fail, NBC. Epic fail.
I am very sad about the loss of Life.
Damian Lewis is a treasure and the show was different and quirky and fun. Terrible loss. I won’t be watching Leno.
Unless he invites Damian Lewis on! Then it’ll be for that one show. I think NBC has made a terrible mistake doing this and will regret the loss of great stories and the one man, one trick show that will lead them to less viewers.
Unbelievable! I’m not investing any more time in a new show anymore. I’ll just stick with the old ones and cable. The only two newer network shows I’ve liked in a long were Life on Mars–cancelled and Life–cancelled. I really love that show and am so disappointed that it has been cancelled. I wish I was in charge of programming.

I predict this will be NBC’s worst season ever. Line up swaps, Leno 5 nights a week at 10 and mid season hiatus’ will kill them…wow how the mighty have fallen…
I say good for Dick Wolf for moving forward with or without Chris and Mariska. Time for some fresh, new blood to show what they can do. I’m all for a change to SVU. Love the show, but the characters are becoming stale.
I’m sad about Life, I fell behind and plan to catch up with it soon but damn. I’ve heard how great it all ended and how people were really wanting more.
Chuck better come back,if they move it from Mondays though I hope it’s a good day and a good time slot. I like it on Mondays, it and at the moment Castle are the only things I watch that night.
I AM following you on Twitter, so already knew – but came here to post how bummed I am about LIFE (the show). Yeah, I was kinda expecting it. And yes, I am happy that they were able to have the Season Finale work as a pretty good Series Finale too (and I REALLY thank the show for that). But still wasn’t fun to have it officially announced. Now have to wait for news on CHUCK and MEDIUM, which are the only other NBC shows that I watch aside from the new SOUTHLAND. I hope that NBC doesn’t completely fail me.
