Okay, now he’s really dead.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan confirms that he’ll reprise his role as Denny on Grey’s Anatomy before the end of the season. But then that’s it. Really.
“I can confirm that I will be coming back one more time,” he revealed to us at last night’s Hollywood premiere of Star Trek. “I think it will be done after that. I think I have been on the Grey’s Anatomy set for the last time.”
Morgan wouldn’t say when exactly Denny turns up, but I can confirm that he’ll reappear as a figment of Izzie’s
cancer-ravaged imagination in next Thursday’s wedding-themed 100th
episode. “Denny has a reason to show up,” Morgan teases, “and it is
probably tied to Izzie’s health.”
Given the number of times Denny has returned to Grey’s since
croaking three years ago, Morgan states the obvious when he says, “I
think they’re regretting killing me off a little bit. But it’s done and
it’s been great and I love those people. [Series creator] Shonda Rhimes
gave me the opportunity of a lifetime.”

He’s come for Izzie of course – just like he said before she decided to fight. And I will definitely miss him more than her.

Much as I adore Jeffrey Dean Morgan, it’s time for him to leave the show already. Watchmen showed his talents lie far beyond this limited, albeit lovable, Grey’s character. Can’t wait to see what he acts in next.
His character coming back as an imaginary ghost became a little more tolerable after the Izzie brain tumor disclosure but enough is enough. ER never would have had a story line that silly!

No, I don’t think the writers regret killing Denny off although I’m sure that what JDM would like to believe. It was Denny’s death and what that did to Izzie and the rest of the Fab Five that gave the season 2 finale it’s huge impact especially when Alex had to carry Izzie off Denny’s bed. The issue here is that Shonda Rhimes has some sick crush on JDM and the Grey’s Anatomy viewers have to suffer because of it. I don’t want to see or hear Denny/JDM again but I’ll sit through it because I know it’s because of Izzie’s brain met but I’m hoping that it’s the last time I’ll ever have to see him. UGH. If Izzie has to hallucinate again, let it be something, or rather, someone else!
Buh-bye Denny. You were great when you were alive…and that’s all I have to say about that.

even though i don’t agree with bringing back denny the first time, i do think that his return for this week is kind of relevant since it has to do with izzie’s health. if shonda just had him appear in 5.07 where izzie maybe senses something is wrong and the last episode we saw him in. the storyline would have been great. but it got played out and unrealistic when he appeared too often and then they had ghost sex. but this last denny appearance i think will be okay.
I don’t think the writers should regret killing JDM off; that was a fantastic storyline. They should regret bringing him back, and take little pride in succeeding in transforming a beloved character into a much reviled and annoying one.

Well he had a pretty good run for a character that’s been dead for a year or two now. Only Mary Alice and the vampires from Buffy/Angel have surpassed him.

I’m so tired of Izzie’s Anatomy. I can’t believe she will steal MD wedding day. Stupid woman!
We all knew he would be back, but here is my question. If, as Shonda has asserted, he is just a hallucinigenic symptom of a recurring tumor and Izzie KNOWS it, WHY would she have any conversation or interaction with him at all? She knows that she would just be talking to air or to herself, so any big teary farewell makes absolutely no sense. I hate this storyline more than I have EVER hated anything on tv.
I honestly believe like most of the comments here that Denny is “coming back for Izzie”. Somehow Izzie will find out her prognosis isn’t good, and that’s when she and Alex get married. When she says “I do”, after she kisses Alex and the pull away Denny will be there and say something on the lines of “i’ve always wanted to do that” and then Izzie will collapse and will die at the altar.
*Disclaimer* This is just a thought people. GA Viewers have come to realize that there is some truth and teasers in everything Shonda Rhimes says. So I’m thinking, the show will stop when she pulls away from Denny. Then when the next season comes, we’ll all find out that Izzie has died. Proving SR right by stating that Izzie won’t die this season.
Although I hope that KH doesn’t leave the show, I feel that her time and character has run it’s course. The same goes for TRK. I wish them both the best of luck.

Great, I’m SO done with Denny, I cna’t believe I actually hate the guy now. I certainly hope Izzie won’t die. If that’s the case, I’m gone.
LeMac – I see what you are saying, but if there is an A/I wedding it will take place in the 100th episode. Izzie is still alive in the next two episodes according to the description, so if she dies it will be at the end of the season finale and Denny won’t be there (I hope).
I really enjoyed him on the show, but it was a little silly after he died – but funny. They should have never killed him off – he is a good actor and was great and rewarding on the show. He will be missed. He now needs a series of his own.
if it was this time last year I would be a little saddened, but after the 1st half of this season, he couldn’t go quick enough!

After watching the sneek peek… i think izzie has new mets (?) on her brain, and they are prob very serious cuz he is dressed in black… = death? (btw looking smoking hot *drool*) I hope Izzie doesnt die… if she does, If KH goes… I leave with her… But i like the storyline

HEY-LEAVE DENNY ALONE!! He’s my cyber husband in cyber space dammit!!! Yes JDM as Denny D has been the ONLY reason why I bother tuning into that STUPID show! NOW I’m HOPING he’ll do the same as Papa Winchester in the last season on Supernatural…that’s where I first laid eyes on him-EVER and he has no idea the number of fans that are DYING to see him back as John W as well. Denny is a baby doll!!! I saw Watchmen too but if I had my choice, I’d pick Denny & Papa W over Eddie Blake..yes he was good in it but they made him too gruff.
He’s a sweetheart in perosn and SO unike that character, I’m afraid it will give him a bad rap down the road.
