Resist the urge to nuke the messenger, but multiple sources are telling me that Fox will not be renewing Terminator: The Summer Glau Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third season.
“It’s done,” maintains a source close to the show. “Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks.” Adds a network insider: “Consider it canceled.”
The one bright spot? Despite horrific ratings, Fox isn’t ready to declare SCC dead and buried — at least not officially. “No decision has been made yet,” insists a network rep. “We will be announcing our fall schedule on May 18.”
Rough translation: It won’t be back.
Oh, I just thought of one other bright spot: At least the show went out on top creatively. Last Friday’s finale was an action-packed, closure-filled triumph. The only thing left unresolved is what Summer Glau will do for an encore. I’m thinking 24 should hire her as next season’s Big Bad.

I think Summer should do a comedy. She was hilarious on BBT.
I’m very disappointed to hear about the cancellation. This show, although dragging at points during the second season, redeemed itself in the final few episodes and it deserved a renewal. Honestly, what did Fox hope to achieve by shifting this to Friday nights? Trying to recreate SciFi’s BSG/Stargate viewership will never work for a network. I wish someone as SciFi would have the courage to pick up this series, but I’m sure the expense is too great for them to seriously consider this. Viewers should not trust Fox when it comes to Science Fiction Programming, given their track record! As for Summer, I thought she was really good on her stint on The Unit and think she should avoid being type cast…
Although I knew the ratings were bad and that chances were slim, I was really hoping they’d give it another season. Especially with all the Terminator hype that there is going to be with the new movie. Plus that finalie was awesome and I was dying to see where they took it from there
Dang! The finale was actually really good and made me want to see what happened next. I hope the creators will reveal what they planned to do…

If by some miracle Dollhouse gets renewed then Summer should be a doll.

This is really sadd i really started to get into this show this season and was excited for it to come back next year, but Summer should def go to The Big Bang Theory, i know she played herself in one episode but i would love to see her in a comedy and i think that one would be beyond perfect for her
very very sad this show is being cancelled. it had some really great moments. good thing for summer glau, tho. honestly, her role (for me, anyways) was the weakest part of the show. she could do much better…. LOVED the finale… show how great this show can be… oh, well. you can still watch stellar programming like the ghost whisperer or whatever reality crap they decide to put on…
Honestly, I won’t miss the show that much. The acting is pretty awful. It is the perfect show for people to act wooden. Keanu Reeves should have been a regular. Problem is that Lena Headey wasn’t playing a Terminator, but she acted like she did. The finale really seemed to throw another time travel monkey wrench into the storyline. I like Summer Glau, but how many dead series is this for her now? Firefly, The 4400…now, Sarah Conner…maybe Glau can hook onto Fringe somehow.

I knew it was coming, but I am seriously not happy. Especially with the way it ended. I agree with some of the comments about the acting, but this was some good fun for a Friday night if you’re watching tv at home on Friday. Hopefully they don’t do the same to Dollhouse.

All networks keep crime dramas, reality shows, and other crap season after season. Something different comes along and its canceled after 2 seasons.
That season finale left me wanting more…and now I won’t get it.
Did the expect to get good ratings on a Friday night? I always watched later in the weekend on DVR. FOX doomed them by moving them to Friday. Once again, FOX…you suck!

Fox killed this program with a long hiatis and time slot changes. Lets hope they don’t self-destroy Dollhouse and Fringe.
Well, I found the finale heart breaking (just the look on John’s face as he saw his father and Alison (Cameron’s human form)). The show made a very good case to stick around with the end and the last three or four episodes were better than anything Heroes has done this season.
The series improved so much over the first year – and it ended great! But NOOOO how will we ever know what happens now that John has jumped into the future and therefore isn’t the hero John Connor after all!? What about him hanging around with his Dad? I agree that with all the hype surrounding the upcoming movie – they should have held on to it for one more season.
I’m still holding out hope…that would just be so sad. I loved the show and really wanted it to come back. It did go out swinging but there is still so much unresolved. Sigh. Why wouldn’t they try somehow marketing it in relation with the Terminator movie? Wouldn’t the film spark renewed interest in the franchise? I just don’t get it. If it were my show I would stand outside movie theaters with free copies of the first season on DVD. Anyway, I hope all the actors on that show find other homes. I agree that Summer should go on Dollhouse and be a doll, assuming that too doesn’t get canned. She would be amazing though. Otherwise, maybe we should go on cable and do Caprica or something. I also hope Lena finds something great. I expected Summer to be awesome, but Lena was a pleasant surprise. Also hoping for good things for BAG, who really suprised me with how great he was. Ugh Fox. Why do you cancel the best shows?
What a pity. After a slow start to the season, the last five or so episodes were some of the best stuff I’ve seen in television all year.
That’s really too bad, although not surprising. Those last few episodes really were great, and the cliffhanger at the end of the season/series finale was fantastic! Here’s hoping we get to see it continued on in comics or something.
This is horrible news. The show is really stellar – its FOX to blame, putting a show aimed at young males on a timeslot when young males ARE NOT HOME.

The ‘ratings’ system is a crock. The networks screw themselves over when they give up on a show too soon?
Why?
We, the viewers, will be more skeptical in the future to engage in regular viewership of a new show if we’re worried the networks will pull the plug due to the total BS ratings.
Why would I give another Fox show a chance if they end up canceling SCC *and* Dollhouse? Instead of giving up on these shows, find ways to make them better instead of pumping out more recycled crap.
The WB did this before Fox, gave up on a very promising show (Roswell) and I never watched their network again. Fox will lose in the end for this.
