This is not, I repeat not, an April Fools prank.
Warner Home video just confirmed that the complete second season of Pushing Daisies — including the three final, unaired episodes — will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 21.
The 13-episode set will retail for $675 (DVD) and $975 (Blu-ray). Now that was an April Fools prank. They’ll sell for $39.98 and $49.99 respectively.
Relieved much?!

I believe if this WAS an April Fools Day, it would be worth me tracking you down and SMACKING you in the head. Is it July 21st yet!?
Great! Now a full-blown feature film, and I will be completely satisfied! I’m still bitter about the cancellation.
I thought ABC was under contract to air those last three episodes. If I have to wait until July to see how the story ends *sniffle* then I will wait until July, I just won’t be happy about it.
What a scoop! Oh wait, blu-ray.com reported that story 4 hours ago. Nevermind.
Will the air on ABC before then?
Cover art and a whole lot more can be found at http://www.tvshowsondvd.com – which I believe beat you to the punch by a few hours.
I would be happier if the story wasn’t going to be continued/resolved in the pages of a comic book but I’ll take the three unshown episodes and be happy about it (OK not really but with BSG gone and “Mars” ending, it seems scripted television is on it’s way out so I guess I’ll be happy with whatever crumbs Hwood doles out… but they shouldn’t count on reeling me with any more series because I’m tired of getting invested into a story and then have the damn show cancelled .. see also “Moonlight”, “Jack and Bobby”, “JourneyMan”, “Studio 60″ and so forth.
40.00 for 13 epis! Wow!
i heard they are airing in uk soon, they will be online soon, you should be able to download at least
YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAAY!!!
Gasps! As long as they release them, I’ll be fine. Otherwise, I need to start learning German soon…
So I have to pay to watch the last episodes? No thanks, what a waste of time.
July 21?! Well that’s cool. They should have aired the episodes on TV though. Ahh! But thanks for the info. I am sure they will be worth wait and it discs will have nice features.
Ouch on the price but thanks for the great news! This is the ONLY entertainment column I check, so I could care less if another site posted it first. It’s news to me! Thanks Mike!
Yay! I guess that means ABC gave up trying to air them. Oh well, their loss.
Hopefully an announcement for Eli Stone will come soon too.
After Arrested Development was cancelled I have little hope for well-written, witty comedy shows on TV anymore.
Yeah!!!! I’ll b sure to get it on July 31st and have an all day Pushing Daisies marathon … Wish they renewed it for another season. Why do you cancel good shows too early, ABC (Men In Trees, anyone?) ?!?
So does that mean that ABC will air them on tv after they sell a bunch ?
HALLELUJAH!!!
i’m so excited! i’m adding the date to my calendar right now!
Has ABC announced that it will be remaking “Gilligan’s Island” and “Brady Bunch” yet? F Steve McPherson and the his promotion. F ABC and its belief that Shondra Rhimes has good writers in her stable. I am done with your stupid network, have fun finding people on the street you call “Stars” to dance with.
I loved Pushing Daisies, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to shell out money to see the final eps. F*** ABC!
More importantly….when’s Eli Stone coming out on DVD?;)
Awesome! I’m so excited. I would be buying the season anyway, but I’m glad I’m getting something extra for the effort!
YAY! I feel marathon weekend coming on! I’m cool with it being off the air. It may have been one of those series that’s best served to only last 20-30 episodes, like Twin Peaks.
Good Lord, $40 for a 13 episode season… pass. iTunes will have it for $26 at the most.
YAY! FINALLY! We’ll be able to see them! Though it does suck that Germany and the UK gets to see them before we do. Especially since we’re AMERICAN and the show is made in AMERICA. Stupid ABC.
$40 is a bit much for a 13 episode season. I am almost betting Target or Walmart will have it much cheaper the week it comes out…If not I’ll be at the used DVD store waiting
Wait a minute… we can only see the final episodes by shelling out 40-50 bucks for the DVD? Yeah, I’ll definitely be going the iTunes route.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH, PD, I MISS YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH! HOW COULD YOU TAKE ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON TELEVISION FROM US, ABC????? HOW COULD YOU BE SO CRUEL????? YOU FIGHT FOR PRIVATE PRACTICE BY MOVING IT TO ANOTHER NIGHT BECAUSE YOU KNOW NOBODY IS WATCHING IT, BUT YOU DON’T GIVE PD ANY CHANCE WHATSOEVER!!! NO!!!!!!
I could care less about the three unaired episodes. It’s the result of a bunch of jerks trying to give us “closure.” ClOSURE, PEOPLE?! REALLY?! This is hardly closure. They never gave Pushing Daisies a chance. For one thing, everytime I watched “Lost” or anything else on ABC, I NEVER ONCE saw a Pushing Daisies advertisement, and yet there was Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practive EVERYWHERE. Those biased, conceited jerks! More advertisement and a better night could have saved it. But no, they tried nothing. So I really don’t care about this news. It doesn’t make me feel any better. YOU SUCK, ABC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
