If you’ve been bummed out by all my end-of-season death charts and suicide blind items, I’ve got just the pick-me-up for you: Lost and Grey’s Anatomy are both heading for weddings!
An ABC insider confirms that Lost will begin filming a wedding ceremony later today that is slated to air during the show’s two-hour finale on May 13. Who’s getting hitched? Here are a pair of clues: Actors of Asian-American descent are being sought to play extras, and the wedding will take place on the mainland, not the island. That pretty much rules out Jack/Kate or Sawyer/Juliet. “One theory is that it’s a flashback to Sun and Jin’s wedding,” whispers a Lost insider. “But the wild rumor is that Sun and Jin’s daughter will marry Aaron in the future.”
Over at Grey’s, series creator Shonda Rhimes has already confirmed that one of the show’s couples will tie the knot later this season, and there’s increasingly loud buzz that the event will take place on May 7, during the show’s landmark 100th episode, appropriately titled “Beautiful Day.” Adding to the speculation: The episode will feature a minister.
The bigger question than when it will happen, of course, is who is walking down the aisle? One source close to Grey’s says Derek and Meredith will finally take the plunge — something a show spokesperson would neither confirm nor deny.
Keep in mind, Rhimes said viewers would be surprised by the wedding. What would be so surprising about a Mer-Der ceremony? Ironically, the speed with which it would have taken place. Sure, the star-crossed lovers have been dating for five years, but a May 7 wedding would make for a lightning-fast, seven-week engagement (that’s assuming Mer accepts Der’s elevator proposal this Thursday, and all indications are that she will).
“Shonda is probably counting on fans thinking a Der-Mer engagement would be just as drawn out as their courtship,” speculates one Grey’s insider. “So to marry them off seven weeks after getting engaged would certainly qualify as a surprise.”

I think it’d be more surprising to see Alex marry Izzie if things looked grim for her. Cristina marrying Owen would also be surprising.
Derek and Mer would NOT be surprising at all, regardless of “pace.”
I would actually be very surprised to see a Mer-Der wedding… because after all, one year of Grey’s time takes three years of real time…so in essence, they would be getting married after only 2-ish weeks of getting engaged…I think that they are going to want to draw it out longer…I think it is going to be a renewal of vows…maybe the Chief and his wife….or it is going to be a death-bed wedding of Izzie and Alex. Who knows! I look forward to finding out!

It would catch me more off guard if Alex and Izzie suddenly married than it would if Mer/Derek did.
I think it will be Izzy and Alex. Since will most likly die, she will need to have someone to leave all her money from Denny too.

What about Sloan and Little Grey? Alex and Izzy are the obvious choice – even above Mer/Der, but Sloan and Little Grey are blissfully happy. Although based on previous short engagements, inter-hospital marriages never work out. (George/Callie, for example).
Or maybe the pregnant intern is going to marry her baby daddy? Will anyone care if she does? Do we even know her name????

I would count Owen & Cristina out for several reasons: Cristina’s failed wedding; Owen’s issues; rumors of violence forthcoming with Owen towards Cristina

For storyline purposes, I think the only couple able to get married would be Izzie and Alex due to Izzie’s illness. I mean, it would be too much for Meredith not only already helping Derek get himself together but to also add a marriage on top of it? It would be too much drama just for two characters, haha.
On the Lost wedding:
Extras of Asian American decent? Anyone think that this could be neither of the rumored couples? What about Pierre Chang?
The idea Aaron and Ji Yeon weird me out.
What about baby Grey and McSteamy? That could be surprising somehow.
Izzie and George will get married and then leave town.
I’m almost positive it’ll be Iz and Alex. MerDer might get engaged, but that’ll be it. I just have this wild feeling that Alex wouldn’t want to let Iz go without giving her the chance to wear the white dress and be called ‘wife’.

It has to be MerDer.
Mer and Der are obvious. I think it will be Izzie and Alex because she will either be dying and wants to get married before it happens or she is not dying and realizes that life is too short. As for Lexie/Mark and Cristina/Owen both of those relationships are still growing.
I think that the Grey’s wedding will be a wedding for Izzy and Alex that everyone will work together to pull together at the last moment..
If MerDer are getting engaged then there’s not much surprise that they marry after. Even if its fast like Callie and George its still expected. With all the articles last year saying how they’d be together forever I expected them to get married so no surprise at all for me.

An Alex/Izzie wedding means one thing: Izzie will die.
PD said MerDer will get married at the end of the season.
If we go back to Shonda’s statement in TV guide she did not say the couple would be surprising she said the wedding would be surprising and that she was not saying whose wedding it would be only that it was joyous.
KH is leaving the show. Even if Alex and Izzie get married, it’ll probably last an episode or two.

Probably MerDer and no, not surprising at all. I hope its someone else because a surprise on Grey’s would be nice since everything has been pretty predictable for the past couple of seasons. Given how Grey’s handles marriage whoever marries will probably cheat next season and the marriage go up in flames anyway.
