It appears Jennifer Beals’ lesbian phase has come to an end.
The L Word star has booked a multi-episode arc on Fox’s rookie hit Lie to Me as the ex-wife of Tim Roth’s fib detector and the mother of their daughter, Emily (Hayley McFarland), sources confirm to me exclusively.
Her character, an assistant U.S. attorney by the name of Zoe Landau, hires her former hubby to assist with an arson case, and it quickly becomes apparent that the onetime spouses still have unresolved feelings to work through.
Beals’ first episode airs April 29.

Outstanding news! A bit sad about the end of her lesbionic ways, though. That was quite awesome.
Excellent! I was hoping she’d get cast on House or this show. Both very smart shows for a smart actress. She’d be a great addition – they should think about making it permanent.
Rock on! Lie to Me is one of my favorite freshman shows (along with The Mentalist and Dollhouse), and Jennifer Beals is a great actress. I’m sure she’ll be a wonderful addition to the show.
Sweet!
Nice, I’ve loved Beals since I first saw her on the cover of a friend’s laser disk of Flash Dance. Things have changed a lot since then, but not Beals.
Great to see Jennifer Beals on “Lie to Me.” She’s really talented and deserves a great gig.
I second Allison’s comment about the end of her lesbionic ways. She was awesome on the L-word.
HORAY!!!!! She is so underrated as an actress. I love her!!!
I think it’s going to be interesting seeing the height difference. I’ve met Tim Roth he is about 5′5″ no matter what his IMDB page says
) And Jennifer is over 5′8″ without heals. So this should be interesting!! Either way they are great actors and it should be great.
I’m happy and I’m sad. If any of you have seen her in The L Word on Showtime she was nothing short of fantastic ! The L Word brought out the best in Jennifer’s acting abilities and NOT just because she was playing a lesbian role but because her character, Bette Porter, and what she stood for and believed in was acted with so much intensity and conviction, such excellence! She is amazing! I think more people of the general population who never watched The L Word should be given the opportunity to see her talent ! Hopefully she’ll have some half way decent roles to play in order for that talent to show.
Fantstic…the more Jennifer Beals on the screen the better!!! she is an extraordinary actress that has paid her dues long since Flashdance. Her work on The L Word was great and she created a truly iconic character in “Bette Porter”..
Cool. I’ve really been enjoying Lie To Me and I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
this woman is a stunning actress. She brought the L word to life for me. One of the most gorgeous woman my gay man eyes have ever laid upon.
Wow! So happy to see her in another series. She’s an amazing woman with big brains.
She is such a great actress. She knows when to hold back and how to create tension. I’m also liking Lie To Me so this should be good.
Great! There was one episode so far that featured the daughter and the father/daugther chemistry was fantastic. I am a huge fan of this show and look forward to seeing this new interaction!
omg i cannot freakin’ wait now. she’s my ultimate role model and favorite actress and a hottie. im so glad she’s gonna do more than one episode too. heck yeah dude!! lovesit:)
Wow, I’ve been such a great fan of her since the first time I saw Flashdance.
Too bad that she kind of disappear for awhile. Glad that she’s back again. I never saw an episode of Lword though.
I’m pretty sure she was good in it.
Now that it’s on regular Network I can DVR it.
I’ve watched her since Flashdance. I wondered what she would do after the L Word finished. I hope Lie to Me finds some way to keep her. She would be an excellent addition to any series.
Never watched an episode of Lie to Me…but with the addition of Jennifer Beals?!? Definite DVR material now.
Me jumping up and down with excitement. Oh be still my heart. JB in a real series, with maybe real writing and a story line that makes at least some sense, oh yeah – I’m there My dvr is there and I’m counting the days.
WAY TO GO JB !!!!
I gotta say, I’m ashamed to admit that I’m not too familiar with her work. But, all the comments I’ve read here and elsewhere about her have been very positive. I’m definitely looking forward to this even more now.
Thanks for the info. !!! I Love JB. She was fantastic on The L Word. I will wait anxiously for the show. Please keep us posted on ANY News about JB.
JB is a GODDESS!!
Tim Roth grosses me out. Ever since his role in Rob Roy and the sick way he attacked Jessica Lange in that role. (I know it was just a movie, but the memory is a powerful thing.) I would far rather see Jennifer with someone up to her par…but it’s a job and I’m happy to see her keep working. She’s amazing.
JB and Tim Roth worked together in the movie ‘Four Rooms’. They both are great actors. I’m sure JB takes it on for another chance to work with Tim. Can’t wait to see them play it out.
go JB!!!!!!But, I’ll be sad to see her with anyone but Laurel. It will feel like she’s cheating again!!!!!!!!!!!!Fan of TLW!!!!!
Her “Lesbian Phase is over” really could you be more offensive and down right ignorant? Was that line really necessary? NO whoever wrote this should be fired! She is a committed advocate for our community regardless of what roles she takes so please give us all a break with your bullshit!
Yay! That is awesome to be able to see Jennifer on-screen so soon!!! I will miss the on-screen chemistry she and Laurel Holloman naturally had and it will be hard to get past that, but she is such a BRILLIANT actress anything she does is great.
Yah, no kidding about the comment of her lesbian phase being over. What’s wrong people. As if there’s something wrong with it. The straight people would be so mad if she was really gay. Another one bites the dust. Clue up world, people are getting a clue and jumping the hetero ship. Not that Jenny is gay but if she was, so what.
YO CREO QUE JENNIFER BEALS ES HERMOSA Y MUY SEXY Y LA AMO Y ME ENCATA EN EL PERSONAJA DE BETTE EN L WORD
