If you thought Michael’s abrupt resignation on last night’s Office was the only personnel change in store at Dunder Mifflin, you thought wrong.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Ellie Kemper, a veteran of the SNL breeding ground known as Upright Citizens Brigade, has been cast as the show’s new (wait for it… ) receptionist!
What does this mean for Pam? Is the new boss promoting her or firing her? Or is Jim’s honey following Michael’s lead and quitting, too? Speculate away in the comments section!

Wasn’t Pam already out of the office for like 8 episodes this season? Ugh. I guess I might be able to deal as long as it doesn’t last for a long time. I know Elba is only on for 6 episodes and then I assume Michael will be returning. So I hope Pam comes back too.

I’m starting to think it is April Fools already with all this show changing news! Fist Mitchell and now Fischer? What gives?
This seems like a cheap way to keep things interesting by bringing more JAM tension into the show. They’ve already been apart for over a third of the scheduled 29 episodes. I miss the workday comradery Pam and Jim had in the first 2 seasons, even season 3 had them more united inside the office. This last episode gave us a taste of the old magic, but I want that to be the norm, not the exception.
I am so excited. Pam and Jim are intolerable. Their plot lines are excruciatingly boring.
And this Ellie Kemper looks hot. Cannot wait.

Maybe they are trying to be too on the button with social issues and Pam will lose her job for so unknown reason and Jim’s will be in danger and they won’t be able to make the mortgage payments and the house will get foreclosed on and we will be leaving them with a can we afford to get married right now. I mean, they have been saying that the trip to the altar wouldn’t be easy.
I have a feeling the new boss might point out some corporate policy about married couples working in the same office.
Jim may or may not redeem himself, but Pam is easier to replace.

Jim and Pam are the only reason I love this show. Without them, it would only be a mildy funny show. With them I care.

I’m just excited to get some new blood in there. Last night’s episode with Idris Elba was already ten times more exciting than any of the episodes thus far this season.

Ellie Kemper is super talented, she will do a great job regardless if you love or hate JAM. You’ll probably fall in love with her and forget the other people immediately.
