An Arrested Development scene-stealer. A lesbian foe for Kyra Sedgwick. An acid-tongued Scrubs actress. A Rock star. What do they all have in common? They’re headlining the latest installment of Casting Scoops!
• Oscar winner Anjelica Huston is being summoned back to Medium to reprise her role as Allison’s ex-boss, Cynthia Keener, later this season. Additionally, Arrested Development patriarch Jeffrey Tambor will play a mysterious man who shows up at the Dubois house in a May episode.
• CSI: NY has collared tube legend Ed Asner to appear in a late April episode. He’ll play a clockmaker who’s trying to keep a lid on his mysterious past.
• Seacrest is no longer the busiest guy in showbiz. That title now belongs to Dean Winters. In the coming weeks, the Oz grad will be reprising roles on four shows: 30 Rock, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Life on Mars and Rescue Me. Oh, and he was also just cast in the ABC drama pilot Happy Town.
• The Closer is adding some new blood in its fifth season. Producers are casting the possibly recurring role of Mikki, a lesbian cop who clashes with Brenda (Kyra Sedgwick). And by clashes I mean they make out! (Just kidding. I think.)
• Further proof that this is probably the last season of Scrubs: Bill Lawrence has tapped his real-life wife, Christa Miller, to join the cast of his ABC comedy pilot, Cougar Town. Miller will play Courteney Cox’s BFF. Also coming to Town are Aliens in America’s Dan Byrd (as Cox’s son) and Busy Phillips (as Cox’s other BFF.)

So I guess this means the Seiler is going to kill Dan Byrd’s character on Heroes at any moment…too bad, I liked them together.

a lesbian on The Closer? come ON…adding gay characters to spice up an aging show was hack back in the 90s. writers, please get some new ideas. next you’ll tell us that Brenda will be chasing a serial killer who likes to taunt the police.
Closer’s season is broken up in half, so the rest of the season will run in June, I think.

The Closer’s season 4 finale was this past Monday and they announced it would return with a new season in June.
I LOVE the Closer!!!! Whatever keeps the show brilliant. They should have made Amy Sedaris a series regular..she was a hoot! I would have loved seeing her hook up with Flynn..that would have delivered some comedy!!!
BTW…the last 5 episodes were the end of the 4th season. Season 5 begins this June!!!
I dont feel this show is showing age..this season was just as stellar as any other season…we finally got to know the squad better and the friendships and bonds within the group.
Raymond Cruz deserves an Emmy and Daniels needs more storylines with the coroner…the last ep. hinted that they are friends…

How about never allowing Christa Miller to work on TV again? She’s such a terrible actress, she’s the worst cast member on Scrubs and her plasticity is painful to peer upon. I think I’ve just been turned off to Cougar Town. I’m glad she wasn’t around to ruin Spin City. Bill Lawrence is showing poor judgment with his nepotism.

Ugh, Christa Miller is such an awful actress(has been since the Drew Carrey Show). The over done botox doesn’t help.
Believe it or not, I still like MEDIUM. Keeps my interest every week. I think they do a good job weaving in Alison’s job and family life. That’s real. And I welcome Angelica’s return. She’s cool.
