Remember how funny I thought it was that, after I teased two big deaths on Big Love, none of you tried to pry clues out of me? Well, now that you’ve started prying — to the point where I’m surprised EW.com’s emailbox hasn’t crashed, I don’t think it’s so funny anymore. So here’s the deal: You limit yourselves to just a few thousand letters a day about TV’s best show, and in return, I’ll run down the odds of these major characters meeting, as skeevy old Roman would say, “their heavenly father.” There’s also a supporting player I’ll be sad to see bite the dust in the March bloodbath, but that one’s identity I’m gonna leave you guessing at… until tomorrow when Ask Ausiello goes live.
Odds of the goner being Nicki: 16%. Because: Once Bill and her sister
wives discover the lengths she went to on her father’s behalf, life as
she knew it will be over. So perhaps, to her, it might seem less
painful if life, period, were over, too.
Odds of the goner being Frank: 22%. Because: Once Bill’s parents
started taking turns trying to do away with one another, planet Earth,
never mind the Juniper Creek compound, was no longer big enough for
both of them.
Odds of the goner being Lois: 11%. Because: See above. But her odds of
surviving are better than her “better” half’s because c’mon, can you
imagine an episode without Grace Zabriskie? I sure can’t.
Odds of the goner being Sarah: 17%. Because: With all hell breaking
loose in the Henricksons’ increasingly small world, it would be awfully
easy for an innocent to get caught in the crossfire. Plus, after Mamma
Mia! the big screen is beckoning Amanda Seyfried.
Odds of the goner being Roman: 13%. Because: You don’t have to be a
prophet to foresee that someone with as many enemies as wives — who’s
already been shot once — is a serious contender buy the farm.
Odds of the goner being Alby: 9%. Because: You know you’re in trouble
when your own mother takes out a hit on you. And if Dad were moved to
do the same, something tells me the only boys “the usurper” would be
trysting with would be angels.
Odds of the goner being Ana: 3%. Because: Her murder would afford the
Greenes the satisfaction of taking away one of Bill’s wives without us
having to lose Barb, Margene or Nicki. Of course, first the character
would have to be reintroduced…
Odds of the goner being Wanda: 9%. Because: Let’s face it, Joey’s
whack-job wife spends every day with one foot in insanity, the other in
the grave. The only question is, would she do herself in, or would
someone else do it for her?
So what do you think? I can tell you with 100% certainty that the
soon-to-be dearly departed is among the contenders above. Who’s it
gonna be? And, maybe even more interesting, who do you want it to be? (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick)

OMG I KNOW WHO THE SUPPORTING ACTRESS IS!ITS LURA!!!MAN!!!DON’T KILL CB AGAIN!!!
ANNE DUDEK RULES!
I’m gonna guess Sarah – Amanda’s movie career is taking off…I think she’ll go in for an illegal abortion or something and have complications causing her death..maybe, perhaps
It’ll probably be Sarah–Amanda Seyfried’s film career is red hot right now, and the death of one of the children would certainly create some excellent drama.
I think it will be Sarah.
I don’t want any of these characters to dieb/c most of them bring something meaningful to story.
my guess either Sarah or Nicki
I really hope it’s Ana. I’ve hated the fourth-wife story from the get-go. I just can’t get on board with her. I’d be happy as a clam if she left for good.
If he is intimating this is the best show on television his opinion should not matter concerning any television shows from here on out. This show has the most inconsistent writing I’ve ever seen on a program that has the outward image of being something ‘good.’ The writers make these characters do things that are inconceivable considering their circumstances let alone what the characters have done in the past. Big Love is NOT good.
One has to be Rhonda who got in the cab with the skeevy truck driver.
I think and want it to be Frank and or Wanda . If it’s Frank , then maybe Lois will move into Bill’s house to avoid being reassigned and that will creat fun drams .
I have to say I am worried that Nicki and Sarah were listed. I don’t want to see either go. But if Sarah were to die , and her baby survive that is a way the Hendricksons could raise the baby.
I don’t see Nicki going , but if she does they will get Ana back as a wife. If that happens , I may quit this show, even though I love it.
You hinted there woudl be screaming, but that could be any of them…You also said 2 significant deaths, now one supporting one too, so does that mean 3 by the end of the season ? I think Kathy may be the supporting one.
I think Barb will die by the end of the series too, if not this season. That cancer will be back, if it is not already….I think it is b/c we didnt; hear the doctor on the other end of the phone and I think that is why she was OK with Ana.
Please let it be Frank!
probably by the banned son he calls sex maniac. There is no need to kill off Amanda.
Sarah can go off to school and do guest shots.Anna needs to go away.
Not a believeable 4th wife……I think they should bring in a really hot young one to mix up the works and get the other 3 jealous.
please kill frank and rhonda.
Dave – What do you consider good tv – HOUSE ??
Big Love is excellent, as is most everything HBO turns out.
Hopefully it’s Frank..I really dislike his character….However, I would not be surprised it if was Lois or Wanda. I think everyone else is too important to the story!
Dave……….you are the one that should not judge any shows. Big Love is the best drama on TV and the characters are beyond interesting and beliveable. I have never enjoyed a show this much. Go watch one of those predictable hospital dramas or crime scene ‘yeah rights’. This one is too evolved for you.
It can’t be one of the three wives, that would just COMPLETELY unbalance the show, and not to mention, they would have to reshoot those brilliant opening credits. I say it’s either Sarah or Frank. The problem is that such a big death will have big repercussions on the show. It could no longer be funny at times. Her death would leave the Henricksons in a very dark place.
This is teh best show on TV…for teh sake of drama it needs to eb Sarah.
Ausiello mentions that the screaming was very telling when the dealth scene was being filmed. Which makes me think it’s a female. Which makes me think it’s a younger girl. I don’t think that Sarah would scream eerily unless she was being eat by wolves or something. Ana and Wanda wouldn’t have particularly affecting screams either. So it’s Nicki or Lois. I bet it’s Nicki…because did anybody really think that Chloe would do a TV series for as long as she has???
Many viewers don’t care if they all die. “Big Love” has been a big bust for awhile.
Kelly, I think that Big Love AND House are among the best shows on tv. (Throw in True Blood, and you got some good tivoing.)
And don’t let it be Lois. Please please please not Lois.
please kill Nikki!
she ruins everything.
I think it is strange that you have only listed your favorite characters. Shouldn’t Laura Grant, Kathy Marquart, and Rhonda Vholmer be on the list? Kathy and Rhonda should be at the top of the list. Laura has just been getting a little bit ahead of herself and done A LOT of things that might piss off Roman. It would also be a way to punish Alby.
Wanda and Lois aren’t going anywhere because this show couldn’t survive losing Grace Zabriskie and Melora Walters the two best yet most underappreciated actresses in the cast.
Bye bye Alby
It’s going to be Barb, she knows her cancer is back. As for the second one, either Frank or Lois, they will succeed.
I don’t want any of the characters to die. I even enjoy the ones that annoy me. But if I had to guess, I’d say:
1) Barb — she has recurring cancer, after all. I would miss Barb for sure, but would love to see Nikki as the main wife. She’s so deliciously evil.
2) Sarah — she will exit the show somehow because the actress who plays her probably has bigger fish to fry.
wow, TV’s best show. Really? For me that’s LOST. I was still watching BL because critics and others like yourself said it was brilliant. The only scenes I liked were with the wives. After the 2nd ep this season where i was wondering when the show was gonna be over, I divorced it. I just don’t enjoy it, what can I say.
It’s not going to be Roman, we just went through a bunch of drama with him and Albie is too weak to be an antagonist against Bill.
Nicki is a good contender,
Frank needs to die
So does Frank’s wife
The whack job crazy wife Wanda might get offed also
I agree Sarah can go off to school
“… TV’s best show…” ???? PLEASE – obviously you are in dire need of some Snapple !!!! At best, this show is good… it has a long way to go before being anywhere near one of the best.
People are forgetting that the goner can’t be Barb or Rhonda because they aren’t on the list.
The death of a child would throw too much of a pall over the proceedings; it’s too drastic and would be difficult for the family to recover from. (The shooting schedule leaves plenty of time for movies on the side.) Wanda’s been flirting with the hereafter for a long time, and Roman could easily pass any minute of natural causes, furthering the Juniper Creek succession drama. Maybe Nicki, shamed by her actions on behalf of her dad, sacrifices herself in some way for good of the family (like taking a bullet for Bill??). But I want to see how she deals with her office flirtation. That could be interesting. Maybe she dies for her extramarital sins.
Please let it be Nikki she is starting to work my nerves with all that whining.
