'Greek' exclusive: Meet Calvin's new gay crush

Jan 12, 2009, 08:55 PM | by Michael Ausiello

Categories: Greek

Gregorymichaelgreek_lGreek's stereotype-shattering gay brother, Calvin, is going to literally have his hands full this semester. (Oh, no he di'int. Oh, yes I did.)

Gregory Michael, who honed his boy-on-boy craft during three years on the gay-themed supernatural soap Dante's Cove, is joining the ABC Family hit as a love interest for Calvin (Paul James), sources confirm to me exclusively.

Michael's character is described as a genetically-blessed (see pic, left), closeted Omega Chi active who comes out to Calvin -- which is all well and good until the two end up rooming together. Sexual tension abounds, as does some serious heavy petting (or whatever it is the kids are calling it these days).

Michael will recur throughout Greek's new season, which premieres on Monday, March 30 at 8 pm/ET.

Hey davis4; you do know that homosexality is a life style associated with disease and early death. Why expose kids to shows that promote the queer lifestyle? They stopped cigarette commercials, they should prohibit shows that put queers in a positive light.

Alex Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 08:35 AM EST

Yeah, it was Listen 2 This. I liked those, but then they started not being exclusively about music, (they started to include video games & comic books too) http://hardwood-floor.emenace.com/brucehar62/43.html bruce flooring e8317 undefined

So you are just a fool that sounds just like Dexter? Amazing.

THE SHOW HAS ALWAYS HAD GAYS! In the first episode there are two sneakign around so they won't get caught, and it's very nicely done.

Thankfully they came out and became themselves so they can piss off closet cases like you.

jan Thu, Jan 15, 2009 at 11:54 AM EST

I am not Dexter. I'm posting because I liked Greek until it turned gay. I wonder if Greek will put the truth to the lie that gays are larger sexually than straights.. In Britain they've known for generations that gays are sexually diminutive. It's why they can sodomize each other with impunity. It's the size of a little finger.

JJ Thu, Jan 15, 2009 at 09:10 AM EST

Oh, and why is this Jan person posting on what is clearly an article most straight men would ignore?

JJ Thu, Jan 15, 2009 at 09:09 AM EST

Yeah, but what about Dante's Cove. Surely they're not going to recast Kevin. At least I hope not. That is, if Dante's Cove is going to have a 4th season.

David4 Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 06:52 PM EST

Wow... shocking... Dexter changed his name to "Jan". How 12 year old like.

Everyone buys things. Here's a hint, gay men and woman don't like watching when woman make out, more so because it's lame and only done to get straight males to watch the show.

However Jan/Dexter obviously isn't comfortable with himself, so he takes it out on gays. Or he has had a gay experience and the other guy was smart enough to break it off and Dexter/Jan is still pissed off about that.

Jan Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 08:54 AM EST

So gays and women keep these shows on the air because of their shopping? Love of shopping; that's so "GAY". It's a mental thing. Straight men hate shopping.

Ron Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 08:01 AM EST

hey dexter, guess what? gays and straight women BUY the stuff advertised on tv shows at a much higher percentage statistically than straight men do. And those ads are what keep the shows on the air. So take your backward-ass mentality over to "Spike" tv and watch some low rent UFC for awhile if you want to avoid "man on man" action; oh wait...UFC is nothing BUT "man on man"...

Chris Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 10:48 PM EST

It's time to stop the hate...gay people are not deviant...open your mind and embrace your fellow man. Gays will always be a part of our society.

Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 10:06 PM EST

Now I guess I'll have to start watching Greek to make a point.

Jan Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 08:39 PM EST

Dexter is right. Straight men are turned off when they see two men being intimate. Only gays and women enjoy watching this type of deviant activity.

David4 Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 06:31 PM EST

Dexter is clearly questioning his sexuality and can't watch shows that show how happy he would be if he got it up the ass. We all know that's what he wants.

Taylor Siluwé Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 05:57 PM EST

Get over it Dexter. We've had to watch hetero lives played out on the screen since, like, forever.

If seeing two guys kiss on screen bothers you so much, there's always therapy. But I'd suggest going out and getting a gay kiss yourself, its so much cheaper.

Steven Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 05:07 PM EST

I'm just going to ignore Dexter's ignorant remarks.

Gregory is a hottie, but his acting skills are terrible. I hope he has gotten better since Dante's Cove.

Rafe Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 04:50 PM EST

Dexter reminds me of all the racist people who freak when they see a black and white interracial romance. "Oh, no cover the eyes of the children! That white person is kissing a black person!!"

Rafe Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 04:24 PM EST

Dexter,

You're wrong about the ratings of Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. The gay storylines have been part of both shows since they began.

Also, Greek is a show for younger audiences, teenagers, who are less likely to be as prejudiced as you apparently are.

Dc Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 04:22 PM EST

Aww, I hope we still get to see Heath (Zack Lively) though!

homer Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 04:20 PM EST

Dexter is a moron. As the World Turns has seen an improvement in ratings because of the Luke/Noah romance.

Dexter Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 03:52 PM EST

Most people are straight and have no desire to see two men together (two women?....I'd be okay with.) It's the reason shows like Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters have fallen off in the ratings, no one wants the gay agenda snaking in.

Sorry, the truth hurts.

LitC Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 03:47 PM EST

It's great to seem GM get some work outside of Dante's, even if it is another gay role (typecasting...). He is a little long in the tooth to be a college fratboy, but it could always be worse.

If they're going flash some skin in the show, or there's more Dante's with him in it, though, let's hope he hits the gym a bit before filming. He looked a bit, uh, un-toned in Dante's last season. (I call it Tom Welling disease.)

Chris Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 02:18 PM EST

Imagine how gay people must feel to be "slapped" in the face with straight story lines 99.99999999% of the time. It's time to open your mind and not fear the unknown.

Dexter Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 02:15 PM EST

Gay storylines are th reason I stop watching these shows. I'm sick of being slapped in the face with this stuff.

BRK Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 01:35 AM EST

GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bbb Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 12:21 AM EST

Has the gay brother always been on the show? I've never seen the show, but I'm interested in watching now.

MultiPass Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 12:18 AM EST

what he hell is "greek" ???

daviek Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 12:04 AM EST

that we have to wait 5 months between half-seasons for greek is a crime.

David4 Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 10:18 PM EST

When did they have 28-30 year olds in dorms?

I mean honestly at least some of the people on the show look close to the age they play, this guy doesn't come close.

Luke Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 09:52 PM EST

What does this mean for Dante's Cove? It's trashy, badly written and badly acted, but it's campy fun!

Phil Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 09:47 PM EST

When I was in college, my boyfriend was a hot fratboy who was Bi & kinda looks like Gregory Michael...God, I miss him !! It was all fun & good til the one frat brother who didn't get along with me, walked in & found me & Frank in bed together on a Sunday morning. Anyone else find it MODERATELY funny though how both Calvin and his new frat bro's real names are two first names? PAUL JAMES & GREGORY MICHAEL?! That MIGHT almost be their real names, almost sounds like an orgy...but hey, stranger things have happened...

Snarf Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 09:42 PM EST

Now that is a whole bunch of yum.
