Exclusive: 'Brian' babe enters 'Private Practice'

Amandadetmerprivate_lWell, what do you know -- Addison has gone and made herself a new friend on Private Practice.

What About Brian's Amanda Detmer has booked a four-episode arc on the Grey's spin-off playing a pregnant patient of Kate Walsh's Addison, sources confirm to me exclusively.

But what begins as a strictly professional relationship gradually turns personal when the two strike up a friendship.

Look for Detmar to debut in March.

What? Another long term guest star? Why can't they focus more on the characters they already have. We still don't know much about them. Addison already has a friend, maybe writers would try to give the fabulous Audra McDonald more storylines to work with. What about another fantastic actor from the show, Tim Daly, and his criminally underdeveloped character, Pete? Yes what this show really needs, is another new character (rolling eyes).

Yeah, it was Listen 2 This. I liked those, but then they started not being exclusively about music, (they started to include video games & comic books too) http://hardwood-floor.emenace.com/brucehar62/73.html bruce hardwood floor undefined

Lol, it feels like "What About Brian" was on SO long ago, but really it's only been a few years.

Marco Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 03:15 PM EST

I just say be attentive, or she may end up smushed by a bus! (I'd love to see if anyone gets this one.)

I still miss What about Brian, and am glad to see that Amanda Detmer has found another role...too bad it is on such a crappy show...

I feel like they really need to spend time working on the characters and relationships between characters they already have. Grey's is taking a nosedive this season, but at the very least, it has deep, rich relationships between the characters. Not just the couples but other pairs as well. PP doesn't really have that so they shoud devote time to building those relationships.

I agree that Jayne Brook brought a much needed jolt to the show. It seemed like they were going to bring her on full-time, but now she's disappeared again.

I'm all for a new character on the show, but she bettter not be another bland goodlooking rich person.

Michelle Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 09:00 AM EST

Oh dear. One more person for me to NOT CARE about. Why bring on these people at all? I already don't care about the regular cast. I'm thisclose to dropping PP altogether. It's dull. I think after the crossover with Grey's I'm done.

She's such a cute girl, but that's such a bad picture.

Any scoop on this new guy that's being cast that sounds like a new guy for Addison ?

In a way I'm hoping Jay Harrington's new show bombs, cos Wyatt and Addie are HOT together !

J Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 11:29 PM EST

Thanks for the PrP scoop. I am glad Addison is getting another friend.

Never saw that show but she looks cute. I'd rather have Jayne Brook become a series regular!!! Please Michael can you make that happen?! She deserves another full time gig and Meg Porter is such a great complex character.
