Woot woot for Chuck! Its nice to see Ugly Betty some love too (in my humble opinion).

NikCon Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 07:09 PM EST

Ausiello, you should cover the Chuck stars at comic-con and if they will show in 2009.

NikCon Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 07:05 PM EST

You hit it right on the head with best comedy series Chuck. The cast rocks!

Big D Thu, Jan 15, 2009 at 08:29 PM EST

I would just like to heartily agree with you on The Shield, Michael Chiklis, Walton Goggins, NPH, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Libby Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 11:55 PM EST

Eli Stone! Yes. Thank you. The one show I made an effort to watch every week. Am I wrong to hope that someone gets a clue and brings it back? Probably so - this is ABC we are talking about. Why have inventive, entertaining programming like Eli Stone (who knew Johnny Lee Miller was good and I cant even talk about Victor Garber and Loretta Devine...)when you can have the 554th season of the Bachelor and the gem True Beauty?????

Mike Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 08:44 AM EST

Friday Night Lights seems to have been running longer episodes this season. 47 minutes plus. Are they going to be cut down when they're shown on NBC?

Larry Wasserman Thu, Jan 8, 2009 at 02:19 PM EST

You forgot Best Supporting Actress in a Drama: Loretta Devine/Eli Stone!

Michael Thu, Jan 8, 2009 at 12:08 PM EST

Im so happy for all the Ugly Betty love... and Gossip Girl.

Marty McDoodle Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 03:57 PM EST

I like the Big Bang Theory but Kaley Cuoco is the weak link on that show.

Michelle Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 12:10 PM EST

Totally agree w/ FNL and How I met you mother picks..

Why does Mikey hate Supernatural?! Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 12:07 PM EST

All those other shows are worthless!

Lisa Wed, Jan 7, 2009 at 11:22 AM EST

Totally agree with LE from House. Where is RSL on that list? His Wilson makes the show House great. Where is Michael C Hall or Dexter??

Niamh Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 07:42 PM EST

Nice to see the Shield love, esp. since the Globes snubbed the show big time. I agree with you 100% - something I almost never do, btw. But Chiklis and Goggins rocked that show's last season, they were amazing. Esp. Goggins in the last few eps.
The show in general deserves an award for best drama, the Golden Globes got it wrong and you got it right!

Jen Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 02:56 PM EST

How can you leave "Damages" off of your best drama list?! Best cast, best show, PERIOD!

Jen Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 02:52 PM EST

How can you leave "Damages" off of your best drama list?! Best cast, best show, PERIOD!

Peter B Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 01:33 PM EST

Once again The Wire loses out. Sigh...

I also agree that Dexter should have been included on this list.

You REALLy like The Shield, huh? I do too and will miss it. It ended with better closure than The Sopranos.

rob Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 02:26 AM EST

Zach Levi deserves that spot, screw alec

Georgina Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 11:42 PM EST

How could you have missed Alec Baldwin? Sure Zach Levi's funny but come on...

Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 06:18 PM EST

Thanks for giving a nod to Chuck. That show needs all the promotion it can get. Though would've liked to see Yyvone given a nod for lead actress (see the end of "Chuck vs. The Break Up")

Dullah B Adamz Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 06:15 PM EST

I agree!!...Burn Notice iz one of the best!!....I Love the guy!!

Leslye Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 04:54 PM EST

*Burn Notice* is one of the best dramas on TV today and Jeffrey Donovan (as super spy Michael Westen) ROCKS. And as a Supporting Actress, you can't beat Sharon Gless as *Mama Westen*. If I had a mom like that, I'd have run off to be a spy as well.

Emmeline Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 10:32 AM EST

after reading some commments I'm almost afraid to post this but...'FREEDOM OF SPEECH' !
Thanks Ausiello for that mention of Lisa Edelstein! I love her work on House!

Amanda Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 10:25 AM EST

Oh and I almost forgot Bones!!

Amanda Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 10:23 AM EST

I agree with a lot of the list but I would put Sons of Anarchy and Dexter in the best Drama category. And of course Charlie Hunnam (SOA) and Michael C. Hall (Dexter)for best actors, and Katey Sagal(SOA)for actress. Jason Segel (HIMYM) for comedy supporting actor, and the girl who plays Amanda on Ugly Betty for supporting actress

Fray Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 06:43 AM EST

Duffy008, don't pretend to know me. The only thing you've proved is your pretentiousness and lack of ethics.

Goten0040 Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 02:46 AM EST

I agree wholeheartedly on your nom for Lisa Edelstein. Whether you like where House is going or not, you can't deny the woman's really done a great job with the new work they've given her. She's beyond talented, and to hold your own with Hugh and RSL is damn good. I think she deserves a lot more credit than she's getting, cause she's brought her character to the forefront. :)

Katie Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 12:21 AM EST

Come on all you House ppl: It's just a show, nothing to get all personal about. Live and let live. It's just as Larry Flynt said: Opinions are like a*******; everybody's got one. Some hate LE, others hate OE, then there are some that hate RSL.

marlow Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 10:30 PM EST

Connie Britton, Leighton Meester and January Jones are my favorite actresses on TV right now so I agree with those picks 100%

Duffy008 Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 10:14 PM EST

Fray, Louisa: I don't care about your thoughts on ethics in defense of someone trying to stir wank on a public site, by getting as many people she can to come over and bash the actress.

And Fray, don't pretend you meant anything other than the backtracking you're doing right now.

I suggest the subject be drop. I've proven my point. And I agree with Kate, Olive ftw.

eden Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 10:12 PM EST

oops wrong board

eden Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 10:12 PM EST

i saw "last house on the left" when i was 7 years old... i was staying at my aunt's and it was late and there was a tv w/ cable in my bedroom... i started seeing a therapist a month later lol

Lia Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 10:00 PM EST

Whoa. The bitterness of the House fandom (well, parts of it) is beyond pathetic.

Ausiello, I love you so much for the Big Bang Theory nods. It is my favorite show at the moment. Cheers!

Kate Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 09:55 PM EST

The cast of Pushing Daisies definitely deserves some love, they are all phenomenal!
especialy Kristin Chenoweth for supporting actress-she's been AMAZING this season!!

Louisa Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 09:12 PM EST

Hey Duffy008: The first rule about fight club is: You don't talk about fight club. What you also don't do is copy locked posts and give out lj-names outside of the comm.(If Jeannine would've wanted that she would've used it herself..). And don't tell me now that it's no big deal. Because if so, let's hear your lj-name.

Fray Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 08:36 PM EST

Hey duffy008, don't you think that I know I was implying that I had seen such poster's comment? Do I care? I don't, it's not big deal. Do I know who Jeannine is? I don't, no need to lie here. But I don't like what you did, you should respect the privacy of the community, read the official rules, what you did is wrong.

Jeannine Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 08:23 PM EST

Hey Duffy,
I was not happy that you posted what I put on a locked thread on the LJ that was for members only. That was quite rude of you.
I'm sorry my being proud of and good at my profession came off to you as pretentious. If you would like I could give you a recommendation for some agents or some drama programs here in LA. I always feel that anyone interested in acting should be given a fair shake and you sound like someone who is very perceptive and might do well in the biz. What is your name at the LJ? I would love to talk privately about getting you started. It's tough to get into so my meeger help could go a long way.
Peace out.

Duffy008 Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 08:03 PM EST

Hey Fray, I would say that if you could see said post, you're a member. Which means you 'do know who this Jeannine poster is', or perhaps you are Jeannine. You have to be smarter than the person you're challenging.

That aside, the Lj is still a public comm. The OP screened her post, not artemis/jeannine, who used her opportunity to invite fanwank to a Ausiello's site. I've belonged to different House communities for years now and I'm a pretty benign member, but I think it was the elitist "drama department" attitude down below that finally got me.

Srsly, if this how one is going to stage it, take my advice and be more stealth: first rule about Fight Club, there is no Fight Club.

On topic, I've been watching more Big Bang Theory than Chuck, despite my undying love for Adam Baldwin. I just think its funnier with less plot hole.

Fray Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 07:21 PM EST

Hey Duffy08, since the comment made by Jeannine was on a locked thread that had nothing to do with spoilers, news or whatever excuse you're using to justify your attitude, I'd say that what you did is still low. So cut down your martyrdom attitude.

Duffy008 Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 07:12 PM EST

Hey Fray, fyi, I belong to several House sites and Ljs to keep me informed on spoilers, including Ausiello's page. The Lj is not private and I read her post in my weekend scour before happening upon here to see her comments. So step off.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion on LE, but there was no need invite the amount of flaming that Jeannine was going for, all over a shipwar. Especially while using an "acting" profession as her token objectivity.

At the pretentious rate she was going, I was more than happy to finally point it out. No regrets. So I don't need you to act like I'm being low or underhanded. Satisfied is the word you're looking for.

David Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 06:49 PM EST

Duffy008: I didn't have to dig that deep to figure it out. It's so typical, you know. I expected nothing less.

Fray Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 06:27 PM EST

Hey Duffy008, I don't know who this Jeannine poster is, but sneaking on a private livejournal just to read what posters from that community have to say about something or someone you don't even like and then posting that private comment in a public site is low. That says a lot about you.

Jeannine Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 05:37 PM EST

Can't wait for BSG. From what I've heard MM may just have a shot at some awards next year for season 4.5. I predict next near Mary will be on your list.
You rock Mike

anon Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 05:33 PM EST

I agree about Leighton Meester. She's basically the reason I watch the show, since Blake Lively can't really act. Leighton is awesome!!

Fen Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 05:31 PM EST

Best recurring guest star: Freddy Rodriguez, Ugly Betty. The man was a breath of fresh air on UB in 2008. I only wish they had carried his character, Gio, over into the fall of 2008. Season 3 of UB has been utterly unwatchable thusfar...hopefully things will look up in 2009.
I agree with your nods to Chuck and Friday Night Lights though...kudos to those two great shows!

Michael Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 04:57 PM EST

I just cannot agree with the Big Bang choices, especially Jim Parsons. That character is such a stereotype. There's really not much else to it, other than he's simply a big old nerd. Obviously, I'm in the minority - at least on this page! - but it's just too one-note for me.

Claire Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 03:21 PM EST

aHEM. I believe you're forgetting BONES?! And not to mention, no Ed Westwick nod on Gossip Girl? :(

otherwise good, though. :)

BGTV Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 02:54 PM EST

Ausiello,

Enjoy your opinion as always BUT you were way off the mark on one of them. Best Supporting Actress in a Drama - Yunjin Kim from LOST. She was by far the best in Season 4. The scene when she stood up to her Father: Priceless. I had to watch it like 4 times. The scene in the helicopter when the ship blew up SHOULD have given her an Emmy nod alone!!!

Duffy008 Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 01:49 PM EST

Hey, Jeannine or artemis629. Saw your message yesterday on the H/Cam Lj: "If anyone's interested, I am in a posting war with some Ausiello readers on his E! site. He posted his "best of in 2008" and the comments section is abuzz with LE lovers. I of course had to jump on and try to use sane logic which so far, is not working. I am using Jeannine over there, check it out. It's getting fun, but I might get banned at some point."

Its so refreshing to read an endless page worth of debate fueled on artistic merit and not, like idk, anything trollish...

Does it really matter why he picked LE? Its his opinion; he liked her work. Bashing the actress doesn't swing his vote to Jennifer Morrison or someone else. I mean, I think Kyle Chandler far exceeded Michael Chiklis' one-note character, but it's not worth getting into a war over.

Vikki Sixx Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 12:26 PM EST

OOOOOOOO and I just noticed that I missed you including Eli Stone as a runner up! I was always indifferent towards you back when you were with TV Guide but I am really growing to love you and your picks!

Vikki Sixx Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 12:24 PM EST

Although I am EXTREMELY happy with you acknowledging both The Shield(something both SAG and The Golden Globes have neglected to do) and Chuck you did forget to mention the third in my list of the 3 shows I can not and will not miss...Burn Notice. Although it can be a bit cheezy at times, you can NOT beat the cast particularly Bruce Campbell!!!

HBA Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 07:13 AM EST

Another one THE TUDORS!

HBA Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 06:55 AM EST

Dear Ausielle
I think you forgot another great show...DEXTER...and what about Michael C. Hall performance?!

Leigh Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 06:32 AM EST

Oh yeah, i forgot about Robert Sean Leonard in House and William Fichtner in Prison Break. They are great great actors!

Leigh Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 05:58 AM EST

Right on for HOUSE' Lisa Edelstein and for The Big Bang Theory! That show is really witty! Oh and THANK YOU, AUSIELLO, for recognizing GOSSIP GIRL and LOST.... in addition to your shows, i think SUPERNATURAL deserves to be recognized as a great TV show. Try to watch it.

Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 05:35 AM EST

ANNE DUDEK IS THE MOST UNDERATED ACTRESS ON TV!NOONE ELSE!SHE DESERVES ALL THE REGOGNISION OF THE WORLD!

Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 05:07 AM EST

how in the world is leighton meester a supporting actress?
she keeps the whole thing in place.

Heather Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 04:36 AM EST

Where's Robert Sean Leonard? He's one of the most underrated actors on TV, and his performance of Wilson on House is award worthy.
And kudos to Neil Patrick Harris, for being the funniest man on my TV and Internet this year.

Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 12:42 AM EST

I think Zach Levi deserves best actor in a comedy.

No mention of Grey's at ALL? "Seriously?"

IsistheCat Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 12:11 AM EST

I agree with commentor David who suggests you've only watched 3 shows this year.

It irritates me that you never consider the older shows. In ER's last year there have been incredible scripts and even more incredible acting. Same for some of the older formulaics like L&O, L&OSVU. There have been some awesome performances there, too.

Jackie Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 10:35 PM EST

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama: Paul Guilfoyle (CSI)
I get that most critics hate every drama on CBS but give Guilfoyle his due. He's a great actor.

lepoisson Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 09:43 PM EST

I say kudos on the Chuck and Big Bang Theory nods.

Personally I don't see what the big deal is over the varying opinions on Lisa Edelstein. Obviously some people like her and some don't, there's no reason people should freak out one way or another. Personally I saw the chemistry between her and HL before when they bickered and bantered, but I don't see any when they push this romantic angle. I don't think she deserved the nod as her acting didn't make me feel anything for her lack-of-baby plight but at least Gossip Girl didn't get that category :P Though I found myself in the same boat when I hadn't seen much Nick for 5 seasons and then he's kidnapped or when Warrick died, so Cuddy is in an unfortunate position when the only time we do see her is arguing with or about House or somehow involves babies.

Sarah Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 09:35 PM EST

But the precondition and the dynamic changes. What works with a casual friend doesn't have to work in a relationship. Would you let your bf talk to you the way House sometimes talks to Cuddy and take it with a roll of the eyes? So, she's either bound to take it and become the doormat, or to give back what he dishes out which will at some point become ugly.

amanda Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 09:24 PM EST

I think that House and Cuddy worked extremely well bickering, kissed and still continue as well bickering. which hopefully will lead to some development in their relationship.

Sarah Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 09:19 PM EST

As an actor/actress you have to work with the lines and plots that the ones in charge give to you, so it's not LEs fault. She's doing the best she can, it's the general writing this year that sucks. House and Cuddy worked so well with their "bicker like siblings" thing. There was nothing romantic about it, but it was still good.

Mina Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 09:11 PM EST

Fair enough, if you don't like LE's acting style, but basing your dislike on how she dresses or your dislike for Huddy, is stupid, low and pathetic. Lisa Edelstein deserves a lot more credit than she gets but at least she got this. I pray and hope that Lisa doesn't see some of the comments made here because they are sickening.

Jeannine Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 09:06 PM EST

Giving a critique is not disrespectful, it's part and parcel of this crazy business. LE knows this, she's probably heard much worse. We are a commodity plain and simple. I don't like her acting style, I've never met her, don't know her, so I am not being disrespectful, it's the biz and it's hard. Those flashy folks you see on ET and Insider? That's the .0001% who make decent money. The rest of us are working our asses off and getting by. It's all luck, timing and who you know. Acting talent has very little to do with it I'm afraid.
Kudos to LE for having some stability.

Kaname Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 09:03 PM EST

I don't think that saying Lisa Edelstein's acting skills are average or that she's not that talented is being disrespectful to the actress. Chill out

JC Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 08:59 PM EST

Nice to see Lisa Edelstein getting some praise. Of course, she is no Meryl Streep, but then again, nobody's saying she is. She is one talented underrated actress, and I'm glad to see her getting some recognition. I don't see what the big fuss is about The Big Bang Theory. That show just bores me to tears. I suppose its better than seeing 30 Rock again though.

DTM Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 08:56 PM EST

I agree with the person down there that said Brian Austin Green from T:SCC should get a nod along with Lena Headey Summer Glau and Richard T. Jones.
Lisa Edelstein still kicks ass in the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama category though.

Mina Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 08:46 PM EST

Okay, I am getting more and more mad as I read down these comments. All of you who said those incredibly disrespectful things about Lisa Edelstein (I'm not even going to bother going back and quiting you because it just makes me SICK reading it) need to grow up and actually WATCH the show. The way she dresses has abosultley NOTHING to do with the actress inside! Do you think that she CHOSES how she dresses? No! Costume designers do that for her. (I love her wardrobe but that's beside the point.) Lisa Edelstein is an incredibly talented actress and a beautiful woman--she does NOT deserve to be treated like this. So all of you, (especiallu Jeanne) BACK the HELL OFF.

DTM Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 08:29 PM EST

Lisa Edelstein for best supporting actress in a drama and Kaley Cuoco for best lead actress in a comedy HELL YES!
LE is amazing at whatever part she plays and KC is hilarious.
Enough said.

VeronicaM Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 08:26 PM EST

Jeannine makes some valid points, but hey it's so subjective. This biz is tough and draining so getting a hot show like House I'm sure LE has to fake it to make it as they say. So we have to suffer through the scenery chewing at least we get some good boobie and butt shots in those hot outfits. She needs to work it before it's gone in a few years.

amy Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 08:20 PM EST

brian austin-green on SCC?

Karen Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 08:04 PM EST

You tell it like it is David!!

Some people seem very bitter in this comment thread. I would guess too many rejections at auditions?

I'm no 'huddi' or whatever you call it but as just a normal viewer not involved in fandom I enjoy every scene between Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein.

Dr. Zaius Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 07:31 PM EST

Completely disagree with your Big Bang Theory, The Shield, and Amy Ryan picks. I would have personally chosen Mad Men as the best drama, as well as How I Met Your Mother or Pushing Daisies for best comedy. Chuck isn't that entertaining, and although Big Bang Theory is, it's not that honest to God good.

Jon Hamm or Bryan Cranston were my best actor picks, along with January Jones or Connie Britton for best actress. Supporting would belong to Elisabeth Moss and Michael Emerson.

I will just place the 4 majors on Pushing Daisies as my bests.

You have a love affair with The Shield and The Big Bang Theory, I love my Pushing Daisies and Mad Men. Nobody's perfect.

Luke Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 07:26 PM EST

Where is the Hugh Laurie love, Ausiello? The man is an acting God, for crying out loud! I'm glad Lisa Edelstein got a nod, though. She's pretty good and by far the best actress on the show - which isn't saying much since Olivia Wilde and Jennifer Morrison are flat as a piece of wood. But she does the job pretty well and convincingly. At least you didn't choose 30 Rock. That is the most overrated show on television right now.

Ryan Q Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 07:20 PM EST

I don't know what turns me off more: Olivia Wilde's carboard acting skills or Lisa Edelstein acting like a hysterical teenaged girl.

rose Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 07:05 PM EST

HAHA. This list is fraud. No just kidding Ausiello, I love it, I agree with most. :)

But who's this Lisa Edelstein from House? Is she blonde one, the pretty one? Carmen or something. Well, don't watch House, but she's prettttyyyy. I saw her in a music video, and im pretty sure that was her in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I saw a only few glimpses of House before but she can act.

And where's Bones here?! I really like the Booth/Bones connection.

Steph-OZ Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 07:05 PM EST

I agree with Jeannine on the whole LE shouldn't have been hired front. Possibly, if it had been a different actress, the Huddy ship/arc may have taken off better, but seriously? Best supporting actress? JMo, OW, or even JS[with his pretty hair], could have deserved Best Supporting Actress better. And Hugh Laurie didn't even get a mention? HL is one of the greats of TV and should get a mention!

milena Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 07:03 PM EST

add me to the list of those who are appalled by the gossip girl nods. on the other hand, you scored precious points for listing the big bang theory. that show is just BRILLIANT. also, lisa edelstein on house. her, hugh laurie and robert sean leonard are the reason why i still bother to tune in every week.

C Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 06:53 PM EST

I loved Amy Ryan on The Office, but really?
She wasn't even supporting, totally a guest stint!

At least Michael Emerson got some love. That guy owns Lost.

Jeannine Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 06:42 PM EST

Mike, where is BSG? I was blown away by MM and EJO's final scene in "The Hub" When they finally expressed their true feelings for each other. I cried dude. Wow, less is more is my acting mantra, it's all in the subtleties in the eyes, damn that was some good s*&t.
BSG Mike, what the frak.

Jeannine Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 06:23 PM EST

Oh David, David,
Are you an actor? Are you out there pounding the pavement and working? So please don't diss someone who worked very hard to get where she is, and this is not my real name, you've seen me on everything, maybe someday soon on House.
I don't care for LE's acting style, some don't care for Meryl Streep or Dustin Hoffman or whatever.
You are correct it is my opinion, but if I had had the power when casting this show I would not have recommended LE be hired. There are so many more phenomenal actresses who could have made me adore the character of Cuddy. I am too young to play her so I would not have been considered. I love acting, I know acting, I teach acting, I am not a brilliant actress, but I get the job done, I do what I can with the material I'm given (sometimes it ain't so hot) and I get called back and hired over and over. It is quite subjective, and as a fan of this show I just don't care for the current direction. I see no chemistry with HL.

Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 06:03 PM EST

Gossip Girl? REALLY???

kyla Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 05:58 PM EST

the shield, chuck and big bang theory!! no complaints there.
nice call on the lisa edelstein nod. she truly deserves it. she's a fine actress and we've seen some excellent work this season.
where is the hugh laurie love, though?

Lisa? Seriously. Is it because she can cry convincingly? In the latest episode I felt she was so bored with the poor patient girl, she just wanted that baby. Really don't think her acting is all that brilliant.

Blair would be a better choice, she has depth!

You are such a hypocrite Jeannine. You keep saying "to each is own" on the subject and yet state that LE can't act or that she and HL don't have chemistry as if it were facts. They're not. It's an opinion, and a very unpopular one at that. I'm not a "Huddy" or whatever it is you call it, and I, too, see a great deal of chemistry and fine acting there. Yes, I believe chemistry is subjective, as some see it where others don't and vice-versa, but to believe that only those who root for House and Cuddy as as a couple are the only ones who see chemistry between them is juvenile at best. As for going to "the best drama school in America" and having an acting degree, that doesn't make you a good actress. In fact, it doesn't make you an actress at all - let alone someone who is objective enough to judge acting/chemistry. You just proved that you're not.

Jeannine Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 05:33 PM EST

Ah David,
Yes I know acting, I went to the best drama school in America and have a degree acting, so looking up the definition would be tiresome. To each is own on this subject. The legions of fangirl/fanboys have taken over all the House sites anyway so trying to make a sane argument as to why LE is a piss-poor actress is fruitless sometimes. Check out her guest turn on Without a Trace before she did House. The exact same acting/style, no difference whatsoever. So I see carbon copy performances in everything she does. She is competent yes, as I stated, hits her marks, learns her lines, works the butt and cleavage, but no substance, she doesn't evoke any emotion and her interactions with HL are forced, absolutely, positively no chemistry, and those that see chemistry are looking through Huddy colored glasses. As I said to each is own, Huddies will see what they want and that's that, those that know the craft will just have to cringe through what they've been giving us. ThanksKJ

thank YOU for leaving 30 Rock out of this. that is the most OVERRATED show there is.

Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 04:36 PM EST

People are so immature. They want to criticize Lisa Edelestein's acting abilities and all they can come up with is how they dislike the character of Cuddy. It's pathetic. I'm glad the producers don't listen to what any of you ignorants have to say. You people should be watching Gossip Girl instead.

Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 04:35 PM EST

Lisa E from House? BWAHAHA.

I can only assume she is your inside source for spoilers about the show and this is you paying her back since her actual acting skills are mostly non-existent (which is probably why they always have her breast exposed and her skirts so tight - to distract from the scenery chewing she attempts to pass off as acting).

David Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 04:25 PM EST

I'll ignore the epic fail of that list (Gossip Girl? REALLY?) because you mentioned Lisa Edelstein. She really is a wonderful actress and people who believe otherwise are either bitter fangirls or, as someone else mentioned, someone who has never looked up the word "acting" in the dictionary - possibly both.

Hugh Laurie himself said that LE and RSL are the two people he would most want to watch on television. HL, LE and RSL MAKE the show what it is and everyone with more than a single brain cell are aware of that fact.

Jeannine Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 04:18 PM EST

Hey Milo,
LE is competent yes, she learns her lines, hits her marks, but nothing else. There is no chemistry with HL at all, it is forced to the point of embarrassing. Painful to watch those two on screen together. My God, no professionalism in her character Cuddy. She sets women back 40 years in the medical field.

It is so refreshing to see someone give credit to Chuck and The Big Bang Theory! They are incredibly witty and entertaining shows.

Stacey Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 03:22 PM EST

Lisa Edelstein is a phenomenal actress, whether you like Cuddy or not.
Wardrobe has NOTHING to do with talent.
"Timid behavior"? "Flustered little girl"?
Um, what show are you watching?

googlegirl Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 02:40 PM EST

I usually agree with your picks, but no Samantha Who????? At least Jean Smart has to be a runner up....

JustMe! Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 02:37 PM EST

You know I watch Gossip Girl and I enjoy it as a genuine guilty pleasure. But I really don't get how it can get on anyone's year's best list. The writing is middling at best and the acting for the most part, is laughably bad. I think Ed and Leighton are the only two real talents on the show and the rest of youngsters are, well, at least they're pretty. I guess I'm just really puzzled by all the media attention this show gets. It's hardly a ratings blockbuster or broken any new ground in storylines, acting or writing. Sure it's pretty, frothy fun but hardly top-drawer TV. Color me confused.

umm Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 12:36 PM EST

heroes anyone?

laura Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 12:27 PM EST

gimme a break Ausiello!!!
Leighton as a supporting actress!!! Seriously?
They can remove Blake Lively out of GG and nobody would notice... On the other hand QUEEN B AND CHUCK !!! They're the real thing!

tom Sat, Jan 3, 2009 at 11:37 AM EST

i only 'watch' three shows. 'life' 'battlestar' and 'big bang theory', the rest are just background noise.
