This show is just so fabulous — I’d say that, even more so than the actors’ performances, Joss’ premise, and what it means to fulfill other people’s expectations of you, are so achingly true.
I couldn’t help myself and had to delve more into the show… and the similarities between it and “United States of Tara.” (http://screen.ology.com/2009/03/13/dollhouse-tara-and-multiple-personas/)
And every episode has a treat like this one — my fave is still at the end of episode 2, when Echo slaps her shoulder.

ok so who else thinks that Alpha is the gov’t guy. He might be so crazy because of many personalities he should have. Maybe Alpha is one personality and ballard is another one. how perfect would that be, i mean they are like opposites.

Actually, LA.Girl, the process Nielsen uses to choose the homes that get to participate in the ratings ensures that you ARE counted – those of you that have a DVR, a TIVO (also a DVR), watch online and watch it live – albeit through “sampling”. It would be a logistical nightmare to monitor every single tv in every single home, so the powers that be (networks, studio execs, local stations, etc.) choose to collect viewing data from a sample of the population to gage what is being watched, and when it is being watched. Nielsen’s sample is the most accurate way to see what your age range is watching. So while you personally may not be “counted”, your demographic most certainly is.
