Ugly Betty has cast a new love interest for America Ferrera, and he’s cute in an unconventional way, smart and career conscious, and friendly yet socially awkward.
OMG, Henry’s coming back!

Actually, no he’s not.
Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that Daniel Eric Gold (Charlie Wilson’s War) has been cast in the recurring role of Matt, a seemingly Henry-esque hottie with whom Betty meets at YETI (Young Editors’ Training Initiative).
I’m told Betty producers have big plans for Betty and Matt. The kind of big plans that led them to include a series regular option in Gold’s just-inked contract.
The burning question: What does this mean for Betty’s current crush, Jesse? I’m guessing it means he bought himself a one-way ticket to the doghouse when he decided to suck face with Amanda. Having said that, I have no confirmation that Val Emmich’s Betty stint has come to an end.
And not to OD on the Henry/Matt parallels, but the new guy shares something else in common with Christopher Gorham’s much-missed alter ego: he’s keeping a secret. A secret that could impact Betty’s life in a significant way.

This show jumped the shark already Mike. They canceled the three best series on ABC and left this train wreck anchoring Thursday nights, shameful.

It’s not just a matter of the producers just bringing back Henry or Gio. It’s not like they wanted to lose Chris Gorham or Freddy Rodriguez. The guys just didn’t want to move to New York. The producers and writers have to move on, so Betty (and viewers) will have to move on too.
I reallydidlove her and Gio, but I’m looking forward to Matt. I’m glad they’re getting her a long term boyfriend

They should’ve brought back Gio! Hearing Freddy Rodriguez’s response to all the Gio questions during his recent promo tour, he wouldn’t have been against a semi-guest starring role. Shame on ABC for letting fantastic talent get away.

I miss Gio. I was rooting for him and the show just doesn’t seem as good without his pushy sometimes gruff, but lovable personality.
Who gives a flying fortress? The least interesting aspect of this show is Betty’s love life. The power dynamics at Meade and backstabbing by Wilhamena & co is what all the hullabaloo is about.

Actually I’m more interested in the secret thing instead of Betty’s love situation. It will good if they show the whole thing in a better way than they did last season with Gio and Henry.. that was only boring. Back to the secret, maybe it could help to bring back the mystery aspect that missed from season 1.
i miss Gio terribly and they need to bring him back!! I am happy she has a love interest but Gio was so much better for her on every level!!
I wish they’d bring Gio back, but I think that is not going to happen, so hopefully this relationship sticks, at least for a while.
Honestly he looks like a combo of Henry & Gio. Lets face it people, Betty’s suitors do not last. When she was with Walter and Henry came along (remember they went out for sushi and he was dressed as Clark Kent she as a bee) we all wanted Henry. Then all of the sudden Gio comes along and all of the sudden people (not me) wanted Gio & Betty. Now this character comes along. Do not get too attached. Now speaking of things we missed about UB. The Recaps!! Hel-lo? I can not believe Tanner does not recap this show but instead has picked up Desperate Housewives. They recap the Hills (a faux reality show) and Survivor but can not recap a scripted show. Hmm..wonder why the writers went on strike!!

Should’ve brought back Gio. Freddy Rodriguez brought alot to the show and the chemistry between him and America was amazing. The writer’s did such a great job building-up the romance between the two character’s and then to just let it go to nothing – it was such a waste and it’s left alot of disgruntled fans.

Oh. Dear. God. This show is seriously getting on my last nerve. They made a huge mistake by letting Freddy Rodriguez slip away. Gio brought a funny yet sensitive charisma to the show. He was the ying to Betty’s yang. How are we supposed to trust the producers and allow ourselves to invest in another love interest when they totally pulled the rug out from under us with the build up of Season 2 and the “who will she choose” anti-cliffhanger. What else is on at 8 pm on Thursdays?
