Eleventh Hour will be around for at least 18 this season.
A CBS insider confirms that the network has ordered five additional episodes of the freshman drama, bringing its season 1 total to 18.
Since premiering in October, Hour has averaged 12 million viewers and ranks No. 20 among all prime-time shows. Sure, it loses a chunk of its sizeable CSI lead in, but, hey, 12 million viewers is nothing to sneeze at.
Are you among the 12 million regularly tuning in? If so, riddle me this: Should I be watching? The pilot was just okay for me.

I love Eleventh Hour. I started watching because I didn’t have another show on Thursdays at 10, now I never miss an episode!
how about you concentrate on chuck instead?
I love this show!!! you should totally be watching.
I watch the show as long as it is around. But I could take it or leave it. I wouldn’t be disappointed if it were to get cancelled. Usually shows like this do well when there is a ton of chemistry between the two leads (think Bones or Fringe). But the leads here have absolutely no chemistry. Dump the blond and get him a new handler. In the episode where she was possibly infected and could have been on the verge of dying, I found myself rooting for the virus!
This isn’t my favorite show, but it has gotten a lot better since the pilot.
YAY! More totally not being able to put together two words whilst being enthralled by Rufus Sewell’s eyes.

i’m a bit surprised that they would hold on to this show, it doesn’t pull in high ratings and it doesn’t garner critical acclaim. It would seem like numbers or without a trace or the unit would do better in it’s time slot. or better yet. Move Christine and Gary to Thursdays at 8 and movie survivor to wed — but I guess that is another story.
Great news! I’m really enjoying this freshman drama.
I record it and watch it the next night when I’m bored. However, I miss a lot of the story because it just doesn’t hold my interest. Sometimes I start it and then the end credits are rolling, and I realized I missed the entire thing. Delete!
I was iffy about this show at first, but it’s gotten a lot better with each episode. Now I’m hooked!
This show has steadily improved since the pilot. Give it a chance. A lot better tha some of the alternatives.
It’s mediocre, but acceptable enough to knit to. If I ran out of time to watch TV (as in, if I ran out of knitting), this would be the first to go. Fringe is much better (although granted, I’ve seen Fringe before when it was called the X-Files). Fringe’s resident doctor, while insane, approaches explanations of the science in a much more pleasant manner than 11th’s Dr. Hood. Hood is a bit of an arrogant jerk, explaining things in a pedantic, overstated way, even to other scientists. The bang-over-the-head exposition is indicative of less skilled writers. I wouldn’t cry if the show left, nor would I be surprised.
I have to agree it was a bit shaky with the pilot but it has gotten a lot better. Its a little bit X-files little bit CSI and pretty good TV.
I liked the version from the BBC with Patrick Stewart.
This show has really come up since it started. It has a lot of potential for the future, hopefully they don’t cut it because then that would be a shame.
I do not care for the way the female character is written. She does not seem very realistic. They either need to change her character, or maybe the actress. I’d rate this show OK, but nothing great. They have certainly cancelled much better shows.
Much like every new show on TV, I started watching 11th Hour. I watched the first two episodes before I gave it up due to an overflowing DVR and not enough time to watch everything.
I didn’t think it was that great. It kinda reminds me of Fringe only I like Fringe a lot better. I agree with what’s been said. I’m not big on Hood and I don’t think the chemistry is there.
I watch it for Marley Shelton. They should give her her own show.
i like it. not as much as the mentalist but i still look to see it every week.
I agree with t’t you should watch chuck instead. It has grown a great deal and its too bad it lost viewers from season one to two
It isn’t bad. It is a lot like a more realistic Fringe, but that realism causes it to lose that charm that Fringe has too. Rufus Sewell is very good, Marley Shelton is a good actress that was probably miscast for this, but her acting isn’t bad here, the character just seems a bit off, like the writers aren’t really sure how to handle her. It can be a bit heavy on the exposition which can be grating when Hood is dealing with supposedly other smart people, but overall it is a good way to wind down from Supernatural or the NBC comedies.
I like Rufus Sewell, but the show was kind of disappointing to me. It’s good and all but there’s no real “science fiction” in it, so it’s really just another “crime drama” and those are a dime a dozen it seems on every network. My roommate likes it a lot, but she likes most crime dramas.
I love Eleventh Hour and think Rufus
Sewell’s Dr. Hood is fascinating. Kudos to the show for examining very controversial subjects. I have been checking the net daily for a few weeks to see if this show is getting an order for more shows. Thanks CBS and thank you Mike for putting my mind at ease (at least for a while). I think you should give it another try – it definitely has improved.
Boy CBS is being stingy! Why only 5 more episodes?
The show has been beating ER and Life on Mars in this timeslot and IMO creatively it’s gotten alot better since the Pilot.
Again, this all could be meaningless if the actors strike early next year.
I love the show. Hood and Young have great chemistry – something that I totally miss in Fringe – and also their working relationship is interesting. Also, I like the themes they tackle, like the sociopathic child, that was chilly…
This show has become better as it progresses. Since many of my favorite shows were canceled–thanks ABC. I have really started to enjoy this one–have a heart CBS do a whole season!!
I also started watching only because it came out after “C.S.I.” and got hooked. Order many more, please!
It’s not bad, I enjoy it but I wouldn’t cry if it was cancelled. It’s very procedural and stand alone, which I tend not to like, but well done overall it keeps my attention.
I don’t watch CBS since they cancelled JERICHO.
