Hopefully, you’ll all be intrigued by today’s blind item. But if a certain TV star is reading this, they should squint extra hard to read between the lines. How come? They’ve been canned — they just don’t know it yet!
Yep, it seems an original cast member of a hit series that’s popular
with Ausholes (and yours truly) has been pink-slipped without the
benefit of being given a pink slip. A combo platter of budget cuts and
creative redirection is being blamed for the firing, but it also bears
mentioning that said performer was never going to win any popularity
contests with their co-stars.
As for why the MVP still hasn’t been told that the unemployment line
is reserving a spot for them… well, that’s where things get really
interesting. According to my mole, there’s still a snowball’s chance in
Hollywood that the producers might have a change of heart.
If, or when, the axe does fall, the regular’s on-screen alter ego
isn’t likely to be killed off. Although death has cast a shadow over
many a plot, this personality’s demise would probably be deemed too
morbid, even for this show.
So, stars… readers… readers who are stars… Call your agents
and get guessing! Oh, and memo to my higher-ups at EW: Don’t bother
asking me who it is — this is one blind item I won’t be blabbing about!

vague, have no clue
ghost whisperer! “death has cast a shadow…”
Zack on Bones?
Balthazar Getty?
Well I don’t know if it is true or not but I personally hope it’s Mohninder from Heroes. I personally have hated his story lines for the past 2 seasons.
But who I think it is, George from Grey’s.
Jenny on Gossip Girl
It’s my name is earl!
The picture makes it obvious!
I assume Kathryn Heigl on Grey’s would be too obvious a choice?
Heigl!
I would think Reaper if not for the “hit series” comment.
Katherine Heigel
Ali Larter on Heroes?
“Squint extra hard” has me thinking it’s Heroes’ Masi Oka.
Katie Heigl?
Gil Grissom, CSI?
This is WAY too vague. What’s the point in sharing any info at all if it’s impossible to know what you’re talking about? We don’t know if it’s a comedy or a drama, on cable or network, a male or a female…come on!
One of the guys on Brothers & Sisters. Hopefully Balthwewkewkj Getty
Well, the mention of the word “squint” leads me to Bones, as does the “too morbid, even for this show,” which is pretty gruesome without ever really having a dark tone. But the only two people who that could refer to are Hodgins and Angela (because seriously, nobody’s killing off Booth or Brennan and Sweets and Cam weren’t original cast members), which I just don’t see happening.
Nicolette Sheridan from DH

“MVP”

I think death shows that Ausholes like would be CSI, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Heroes. Get rid of Lost, since they have a set end-point and have no need to cut costs. Original cast member who is unpopular with coworkers and pricey? And why would their character being killed off be morbid?
I’ll say Katherine Heigl.
I know who it is!!!
It’s Dexter!!! They are going to kill off Dexter!
This is a waste of space – there’s no story here and no follow-through. Slow day at the EW offices? I’d rather read more about Twilight than this nonsense.
With the best shows on tv being canceled, I don’t even care anymore. This is too vague and it’s clearly not something I’m watching.
Chuck from Pushing Daisies? Oh wait…
I think it is Ali Larter from Heroes. New direction, she has been killed before, but I don’t know if Heroes is considered popular any more.
I don’t know why, but Hotchner from Criminal Minds immediately comes to mind…
I have no idea what purpose this article serves. Pretty useless. I expect better from Ausiello.
Wasn’t Elisha Cuthbert, an original cast member, supposed to be back on 24 this year? She would not be missed, but killing her character would just be too much for Jack, after all he’s been through.
I could see Balthazar being it. He squints a lot, and the show is already based off the death of a core family member, so one more is too many. But the “too morbid, even for this show” seems like it’s probably not a family drama.
clues…”Squint” & it’s a morbid show. Gotta be someone from Bones.
