Exclusive: NBC's 'Kings' Courts Macaulay Culkin

In what marks his most significant TV gig to date, Macaulay Culkin has been tapped for a multi-episode arc on NBC's upcoming drama series Kings. He'll play the king's nephew, who was exiled for mysterious reasons.

What is Kings, you ask? Why, it's a reimagining of the David vs. Goliath struggle starring Ian McShane, Christopher Egan (Vanished), and Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl). It's also the one new midseason show I'm most looking forward to. (The trailer NBC showed us at press tour blew my Gold Toes off.) 

And based on the impressive roster of talent Kings is attracting, I'd say the positive word of mouth is spreading. In addition to Culkin and the previously announced Brian Cox, sources confirm to me exclusively that Miguel Ferrer (Crossing Jordan), Michael Stahl-David (The Black Donnellys), and Leslie Bibb (Popular) have also booked multi-episode arcs.

Yep, I'm on board.

I am also looking forward to this show. I just hope NBC does a big marketing push for it because it does seem like it'll be better than anything they've offered up recently and the cast they've assembled is excellent.

Miguel Ferrer and Macaulay Culkin! Not to mention I've loved Leslie Bibb since her days on Popular, which I love you for mentioning! Kings has just gained itself a viewer!

This series looks very interesting. I love transposing old stories like that into alternate continuities. Now, kudos for remembering the existence of Michal (Michelle), the princess, from David's story -- but this better have more than a bit of Jonathan (Jack) for Davy too, ya know. To be properly Biblical and all.

I'm really looking forward to Kings premiering this spring as well. I hope this one is a much-needed hit for NBC.

Looking forward to this more than Dollhouse? I understand the trailer may have been stellar, but a trailer does not a season make. Whedon returning to a weekly series is about the best thing I can imagine.

Anyway, this still sounds cool, and I'll look forward to checking it out. Any time the criminally unappreciated Ian McShane gets some play, I'm in. Al Swearengen was among the best TV characters ever created. RIP Deadwood. Sigh.
