Yay for GG and OTH! Both will do fine if they don't start killin off the kids. 90210 has grown on me but they seriously need a gay character- I vote Naomi, it'd give her something more interesting to do then whine. Supernatural is my current fave of the season (tell me you caugt Dean rocking out to "Eye of the Tiger" LMAO) and it better be back for another.
Now, CW, my fave network you- pick up Pushing Daisies! With Smallville's exit, you need a new hourly and Valentine sucks. PD will bring you a whole new flock of folk who will be grateful you stopped the stupidity of cancelling them. The show is too good to die, it just needs better promotion. Just don't #### up the cast or anything and you have Emmy gold! And I know you guys want to get at least one of those right?

First off I love OTH!!!It is the best show ever made and I have never loved a show this much before. This show is my life. I am super thrilled about the 24 episode extension but honestly oth is as awesome if not awesomer than gossip girl. oth deserves a 25 episode deal if not more than that....it has survived 6 seasons and didn't kick off to a good start but look at it now, it's kickin butt! The show deserves and the fans deserve a longer season of oth. people should stop talking trash about other shows, you don't watch them probably or maybe you watched one episode and didn't like it, but that doesn't give you the right to be mean to what could be someone else's favorite show. I know it is my favorite show and the directors, producers, music producers, and definitely the wonderful actors and actresses should pat themselves on the back because they have created a heartfelt, funloving, exciting show that deserves a five star rating and a 25 episode deal! I love oth, always and forever!

I am a big One Tree Hill fan-but I think its almost done-I want it to end great. I used to love 7th Heaven when I was younger but it just went on too long-it stayed passed its welcome. People really need to stop dissing on other shows. OTH, GG & 90210 are all great shows and so are Supernatural and Smallville otherwise The CW wouldn't support them. I have read every comment and there are a lot of good arguments here. (A lot of immature ones, too!) This is what I think: Supernatural is my absolute favourite show. No, it does not get the support from the CW that it deserves, but we all know by now the CW has not made the most fan pleasing choices since it started airing. However, I am also a fan of OTH, and for those of you who are saying that OTH does not deserve the promotion it gets, well OTH fans were in the same boat last season as Supernatural is now; it was not getting nearly enough recognition and was on the bubble. Also, OTH and Supernatural are two VERY different genres of television. So it's not fair to say to a OTH fan that if they don't watch SN they are stupid or don't know good television, and vice versa. Not everyone has the same tastes. They are both quality shows. There is no point to trash each other. It's only as a bigger voice we ever get heard. The network will do what it wants otherwise.

I watch all of these shows so i'm pretty happy. Then again, i watch Supernatural, Smallville, Priveleged etc as well. I wish they would give them more recognition. But my top 3 are definately Supernatural, One Tree Hill, and Smallville. They are all kickin ass this season, so i hope that Supernatural and Smallville get extended as well, but if they have another season (especially SPN) i'll be happy .. :]

Jacob, your averages are inflated by the series premiere of 90210. The show got a lot of nostalgia viewers as well as heavy promotion. The numbers dipped significantly after the opening weeks 4.62 million

A more meaningful average ignores the opening show, when people had already had a look and seen how dire it is and that average is 3.21 - not only lower than Supernatural, but lower than OTH and even the god awful GG

Not promoting Supernatural -- with budget and the same opportunity for extra episodes as other shows on the network have -- seems a serious miscalculation on the network's part. The demographic who watch this intelligent and well-written successor to shows like XFiles and Buffy tend to be a bit older than those watching Gossip Girl -- also well educated and out there earning a fair amount of disposable income. And they're watching this show with the kind of concentration that results in advertising money well spent and remembered. What a shame the network doesn't realize the potential gold mine it has already in its stable.

Nahh can't say i was implying that at all, i'm just simply saying that oth deseves that too, no i've never watched supernatural but that doesn't mean that they don't deserve more episodes. I'm not saying that at all, i'm simply saying that oth deserves this too, it's not just another dumb show, when i first rented the seasons my father (which is 60 years old) sat up 'til 3 in the morning watching them with me, my mother did as well, and she's 50. so it's not just a show for teenagers. And calling is a dinosaur? well..they obviously seem that it's keeping up with the times, so are you not going to be supporting your show when they're on their 6th season and a new show comes in?

Seriously? The CW has got to stop using its budget on these overhyped shows and start using some of that money for Supernatural - not only the best show on their network, but by far one of the best shows on TV right now (in my opinion the best). Since season 4 started a ton of articles have come out saying Supernatural is the show to be watching, it's finally getting the recognition it deserves, and the CW pulls this. Come on! The show needs more money! For the special effects, guest stars, the soundtrack! There isn't a show more deserving of time, money, and more episodes. I can very well do without One Tree Hill running even longer, but I CAN'T do without the Winchesters.

ARGHH Supernatural so deserves more promotion! We have some of the most dedicated fans out there for a tv show, and I think the CW should advertise it more and ignore shows like GG and OTH. They get lots of advertisement anyway.

Also, what was with that budget cut CW?!?!?!?! *growls* Do you not see us performing well this season? Much better that the previous seasons! Like someone said, the Nielson system isn't very reliable. I don't think the system in Australia is all that flash either. It could be that lots of Supernatural fans don't have a ratings box! So it definitely screws everything up.

Hopefully, the CW will see what a great show Supernatural is, and give it what it deserves!

Honestly, I don't care if those other shows get more episodes or not; more eps won't convince me to watch more of the same. What I AM concerned about is that Supernatural will lose more of its budget in order to financially support these extra eps. As it is, the show lost its second unit film crew this year due to budget cuts. That's the crew that films the extra scenes that don't involve the main actors, and helps get the episode done quicker. With only one crew, it means more work and longer hours for everyone. And despite the challenges, SN continues to be fresh, unique and phenomenal this season, where other shows start dying out once they hit 4th season. So no, I don't want extra SN episodes. I would be happy with a decent budget, some promo help, and a little recognition and appreciation of its dedicated fanbase (who ARE NOT all teen girls). Plus an early confirmation of a Season Five! That's not too much to ask, is it? ;)

Sigh, I am so so sick of all this demographics, only-young-hip-people exist or count in the tv world b.s. I am an ancient female fossil fan of the ripe old age of 46, and I know a LOT of fellow 40+ females who are ardent fans of Supernatural. Those other shows are the LAST thing I would watch, but then, I'm not some lissome, demographically-pleasing 18 yr old. If I sound bitter, I am, and not because I'm some old hag jealous of the young hotties. I am an intelligent, discerning viewer who realizes what an absolute gem Supernatural is and who would appreciate being counted as a fan of that show even at my so-advanced age. I think it's shameful that the show lost one of its production units due to budget cuts and still manages to turn out a better-than-average product on what's left while these other shows are getting all the hype and apparently the lion's share of the budget, as well.

Anyone who dogs on OTH seriously needs to just watch it, i honestly don't think it's a show that anyone can hate. it's not just focused on young teen sex lives, parties, drugs, drama and all that, it's actually about real life problems, i mean really, how many people can say that your best friend went after your boyfriend? or your biological father is a complete dick? or a coach that's like a father figure, or even highschool marriage? i'm sure there's a lot of that going on, just because supernatural didn't get more episodes doesn't mean you have to be so hateful, just keep supporting your show and you'll get there, oth surely didn't start out with millions of fans right off, they worked their way up

Considering their competition, and the fact that Supernatural is in its fourth season, a season where most established shows nosedive, it's just too bad that the CW doesn't realize a good show when it bits them in the persweeter!

Supernatural deserves some respect. CW, you need to open your eyes and see the awesomeness that is the brother's Winchester.

Hey Jacob, perhaps you aren't realizing that Supernatural gets those rating aganist CSI and GA with the little amount of advertising they get. What does GG and 90210 go up aganist? How much is GG and 90210 pushed? Really, I see that stuff on E! news everyday. And lets do a little comparison to premieres. GG premiere got, what? 3.25. SPN premiere got 3.93, then on our latest episode got 3.53. For the non-existent advertising campaign the CW has for SPN that great.

Lets not mentions the small amount of actual loyal fans these other shows have. You think this is Supernatural fans? Please, these is barely any of them. SPN fandom is one of the largest, most loyal, and most insane fandoms I have ever come across. So you giving us INCORRECT numbers and telling us to stop complaining isn't going to work. I don't usually comment on this sort of thing, but I think it's ridiculously unfair that vapid shows like GG and 90210 get put up on a pedestal, while QUALITY shows like SUPERNATURAL and its incredibly supportive fanbase get the cold shoulder. I am a 23 year old female and I only watch the CW for Supernatural. I don't watch any of their other programs. I think this whole situation is a pretty big snub to the show and its fans.

I don't necessarily think that Supernatural needs more than it's 22 eps (though I wouldn't protest more!) but I do agree that the CW treats the show AND its fans like complete crap. Many of us SPN fans only watch the CW for Supernatural. I fit in with the CW's intended age range but I won't touch any of its other shows. So please CW! Start showing some love to SPN! Give us an early pick up! A bigger budget! SOMETHING!!!
