Blind Item: Hot Show's Stars Feel a Big Chill

Oct 27, 2008, 01:39 PM | by Michael Ausiello

Categories: Blind Item

Ausielloblinditem_lEverybody have a tissue handy? If not, grab one, 'cause it's time for another blind item, and this one's so juicy you should already be drooling.

It seems the star of a certain hit series has, to quote my mole, "a lot of rules" about the conditions under which he will work. None of his castmates like this -- it's diva antics, of course -- but only the show's female lead has the clout to say she won't put up with it. As a result, the two have gone from acting in few scenes together to acting in none whatsoever. (In fact, despite a story arc that would have made it nearly impossible for their characters to logically avoid one another, so far this season, they haven't crossed paths once.)

So, guesses as to the identities of the Mr. Big whose Method is so maddening and the one costar with the stones to rock the boat? I'll give you one more hint, then you're on your own: The show has, I hear, "already lost one actress" at least in part due to conflicts over Mr. Man and his master thespian baggage. Your turn. Who are the players in this frosty backstage drama? (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick)

Anne Sun, Jul 5, 2009 at 11:19 PM EST

It's definitely CSI:Miami's Caruso and Procter. As for clout, Forbes just named her as one of the few that were lamost a household name. So, yeah, she's got clout and a solid pair of brass ones to boot. Good for her not to be bullied!

Anne Sun, Jul 5, 2009 at 11:16 PM EST

I can say that it's most likely CSI;Miami's Caruso and Procter. According to Forbes, Emily Procter is just a haior shy of becoming a household name, she's that popular. She's got clout and a good soild brass pair. She's already worked with superdiva Rob Lowe. Good for her for not being bullied.

Emma P. Sun, Feb 22, 2009 at 07:26 PM EST

I think it's hilarious that all you all THINK you know what you're all taking about. lol! My sides hurt!

It's not Caruso and Proctor, that's 100% certain.

But keep guessing though, this is really funny.

Also, that chick with a hundred different names here, but mostly V1xen--she's in custody for stalking David Caruso! So, it might be a good idea to not believe anything she has said...

That goes for you too Ausellio, all those 'tips' and 'leaks' shes given you and you've reported on....all lies.

Anyway, glad you're all having fun now, because I hear He11 is a b1tch!

Karen Fri, Dec 26, 2008 at 07:04 PM EST

Well, it all boils down to the fact that David Caruso and Emily Procter don't go along - which is mainly due to Caruso's unbearable behavior.
If "Tinka" doesn't want to talk about it - fine. That's her choice. However, she shouldn't botehr other people with it. We like to talk about it and we will.Because we can.

Tinka Wed, Dec 10, 2008 at 11:53 AM EST

The syllogism - to spit in the person, having covered with anonymity.
David - the remarkable actor, he make our favourite show by that it is.
What it would not be the person, to declare "I'll not to act with him" - nonprofessionally. It is work, personal relations should not influence it.
It is especially unpleasant, when personal problems of two people are discussed in similar tone, up to direct insults. It concerns nobody, except them!
The show is not become worse than that they act separately. Let's look and rejoice, instead of to plant dirty gossips.

Christy Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 06:10 PM EST

...butt monkey Horatio

I love that!

TV-fan Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 01:38 AM EST

I am with you. David Caruso has always been a Diva. Of course one or the other fan may want you to believe otherwise - but then fans are not a very reliable source. Too biased to see clearly.
It is David Caruso and Emily Procter

Teri Sun, Nov 16, 2008 at 03:28 PM EST

I'm guessing it's David Caruso. It's bad enough he pushed Kim Delaney off the show because he was afraid she would steal his limelight. Now, I'm thinking that's why Khandi Alexander left because I've never heard a real reason for her leaving the show. I notice he's in alot of scenes with his favorite butt-boy Ryan/Jonathan Togo. He's just as bad an actor as David Caruso and his character is starting to act like Horatio. He just stands around getting information from the CSIs like he's Horatio's right-hand man. He's nothing but an incompetent loser who should have stayed fired. But I guess that's what strapping on the kneepads or bending over and grabbing your ankles for David Caruso/Horatio Caine gets you. A cushy job as his butt boy. That's about all he's good for. Ryan will never measure up to Calliegh, Eric, Natalia or Speedle as a CSI. I wish Ryan would die a slow, painful death. Maybe he and his butt monkey Horatio can do some kind of tragic Romeo & Juliet style death.

Vixen Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 07:46 PM EST

I agree! LOL - just had to say that!

Joe the Plumber Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 11:32 AM EST

I only know one thing - David Caruso that head-cocking beady eyed leprechaun s*t*i*n*k*s

Joe the Plumber Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 11:30 AM EST

I only know onew thing - David Caruso that head-cocking beady eyed lepreachun s*t*i*n*k*s

Kelsy Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 11:02 AM EST

David Caruso - hands down. Can't be anyone else. Kind of said for an "actor" if the only headlines he is able to make are in gossip coumns. Shame on you ginger!

Nix Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 09:10 AM EST

Ooh ooh and I'll join in with something out of left field (yet also inspired by the Blind Item logo): Life.

Nix Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 09:09 AM EST

I get the feeling all these comments were written by at most six people. Myself included.

Mariann Wed, Nov 5, 2008 at 11:49 AM EST

We have abundant proof with never a syllable of rational denial from neither Caruso nor Procter. The evidence speaks for itself.

Sarah Tue, Nov 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM EST

Yesterdays CSI Miami didn't have a single scene between Procter/Caruso. This would be months 7 without any scenes between them.
Can it be more obvious?
Caruso is the guy!

Joe Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 10:06 AM EST

Leo - six months. It is Caruso. I am amazed that this wreck still has a job on TV.

Leo Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 03:09 AM EST

This is a blind item section. This is for fun. If i want serious stuff I by the The Washington Post.
Ausiello doesn't need to prove anything. His word is good enough. At least for me.
My guess. David Caruso. When was the last time he and the cute blond hat a scene together?

Chris Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 02:32 AM EST

David Caruso. That is pretty clear from reading the item. He takes humself way to seriously.

Angie Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 02:27 AM EST

ENID - who cares?
just because you refuse to believ what Ausiello says doesn't mean that it is not true. Things just don't work that way.
Like so many people before me I agree - it is Caruso.
the evidence may be circumstanical but it all points in one direction: David Caruso.
Sorry to say that, but the "master thespian" has such a bad reputation that one bad incident more or less really doesn't make a difference.

Ausiello does a great job - YOUR ENVY is showing!

Enid Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 01:48 AM EST

Hey Yvonne--you don't like what I say--suck it up and don't read it. A sermon? I'm just looking for the same type of cushy job as old Auseillo--I can make up waaaayyyyy better stuff then this---oooohhh, I forgot--you believe everything Auseillo wrote didn't you? Bet you believe in Tinker Bell too, reread your own little sermon before you start pointing your wand around.
It's Caruso? Still haven't seen word one of proof from Mikey--and guess we never will--take a chill pill Yvonne, your fangs are showing........

Yvonne Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 07:24 PM EST

Caruso does it, Ausiello writes about it. If you have a problem with that - don't read it. No one forces you to come here and heap your sermon onto other people.
It is a great page. Ausiello is the man.

RE: Blind item. it most definitely is Caruso. He has the reputation off being extremely difficult and demanding. However, his attitude and his arrogance outweigh his meager talents and his total lack of charisma.

Enid Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 03:46 PM EST

Wow--EW--are these the kind of comments (especially the one from Taylor--real classy) that makes EW the right choice for reputable entertainment news? Just how much money is Ausiello being paid to write smear campaigns for you?? Hell, I'll make up stuff for half of what he's making.......

Taylor Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 01:01 PM EST

David Caruso and Emily Procter. Red is a real dork! I always have to switch the channel whenever that nut comes onto the screen.
Ogly bastard.

Nikki Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 11:10 AM EST

David Caruso - why is he still on TV? He must be over 100 years old. At least by the look of hgis careworn fac. Seesh.

Alex2 Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 01:23 AM EST

David Caruso. It is so like him. You go girl and show that ugly orange guy what southern women are made off.
David Caruso should get his act together and start to behave like a normal human being and not like a complete douchebag!

Bradley Sat, Nov 1, 2008 at 09:43 PM EST

i bet its batman, he is so diva like. leave alfred alone you cruel bastard. i mean he has already had cancer and what did you do. you went off to fight crime leaving the sick old man alone in a big scary house

Ellis Sat, Nov 1, 2008 at 08:40 PM EST

It's crap like this that lead me to cancel my subscription to EW. No proof--just blog and run--good going Ausiello--who else are you going to target?? Anyone ever mention you have the morals of a dung beetle? (An apology to dung beetles everywhere...)

Sam Sat, Nov 1, 2008 at 07:05 PM EST

David Caruso - I never liked that guy. Too smarmy, too goinger, too ugly.

Monqiue Sat, Nov 1, 2008 at 12:59 PM EST

Emily Procter is a sweet and very talented actress. People who have worked with Caruso report about odd antics and schticks and andd a huge overblown ego.
I like to chime in with the majority of posters here and congratulate the sweet lady for her verve to stand up to Caruso's dictatorship. You go girl!

Arianne Sat, Nov 1, 2008 at 10:22 AM EST

David Caruso, no doubt about. Just watch the show - it is all there. Even in episodes that centered around Procters character her and Caruso had no scenes together. That isn't a coincidence.
Caruso is a diva that tries to hide the fact that he has absolutely no talent behind unreasonable, obnoxious behavior.

Mary Sat, Nov 1, 2008 at 03:51 AM EST

Great work, by a great columnist. Great blind item. Ausiello you rock.
My take: David Caruso. Everything points into his direction. What a Klutz!

Ed Sat, Nov 1, 2008 at 02:47 AM EST

"Real pleasure"? Wow--get a life honey, before it's too late.......if a "blind item" is giving you "real pleasure" forget it--it's definitely too late.

Lindsay Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 04:02 PM EST

This is a very well done Blind Item. Thank you Ausiello andd keep up the good work. Your column is a real pleasure to read.

Rose Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 10:17 AM EST

David Caruso and Emily Procter - the last time they had a very small scene together was back in season 6 episode "All in". Thta was 6 months ago.

Rose Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 04:28 AM EST

David Caruso!

Berny Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 03:20 AM EST

Given David Caruso's bad reputation it was just a matter of time until he would act out again. What a loser!

Moni Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 03:12 AM EST

Great work, as always Ausiello. Looks like David Caruso is back to his old obnoxious ways again.
I am looking forward reading more of "Blind Items" like this.

Patrick Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 02:03 AM EST

It was articles like this that made me leave TV Guide--guess EW is off my list now too. Can't do legit entertainment stories--but this is your "specialty"? Sadness....and a bit creepy.

Chris Fri, Oct 31, 2008 at 01:11 AM EST

Most likely David Caruso and lovely Emily Procter. On would think a 53 year old guy would know how to be behave properly. Apperently Caruso does not.

Lizzy Thu, Oct 30, 2008 at 07:59 PM EST

233 comments and not a peep from Mike "I'll Smear Anyone" Ausiello. Good job Mike--how much extra is Defamer paying you--and does EW know?????

Sylvie Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 08:21 PM EST

CSI Miami, David Caruso, Emily Procter.

Sophie Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 06:07 PM EST

Master thespian who drives viewers and cast-members crazy?
There is only one who fitts this description - David Caruso. What a schmuck!

Rodrigo Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 04:54 PM EST

How about Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush. They had like two scenes together this season and Moira Kelly has already left the show.

John Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 02:56 PM EST

I'm telling you, it's Caruso and Proctor. Rewatch any recent episode - they never share a single scene.

I second that. David Caruso is an obnoxous jerk who will never change.

Max Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 11:06 AM EST

Portalphobia all over again--same old story, same old lies--nice reporting Ausiello--you never change your routine.

Steve Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 11:05 AM EST

For those of you guessing Jeff Goldblum because of the "Big Chill" part of the blind item title, please look at the rest of the clues.

* "As a result, the two have gone from acting in few scenes together to acting in none whatsoever." - How would this even be possible on Criminal Intent? The two detectives work every case together! Julianne Nicholson and Goldblum even appear together in the commercials. And please don't say that Ausiello was referring to Kathryn Erbe when talking about the leading lady - she and Goldblum wouldn't be in any scenes together because of their alternating episodes.

* "Despite a story arc that would have made it nearly impossible for their characters to logically avoid one another, so far this season, they haven't crossed paths once." - The clue is in the past tense, but Goldblum's episodes haven't even started airing!

I'm telling you, it's Caruso and Proctor. Rewatch any recent episode - they never share a single scene.

Stephen Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 10:54 AM EST

David Caruso.

Peter B Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 10:44 AM EST

Wow. So many choices for CSI Miami!

Mario Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 09:51 AM EST

David Caruso and Emily Procter - no doubt about it. In the begining of the show they had numerous scenes together. Now nada, zilch, zero. And Caruso has a reputation as bing demanding, diffiult and a Diva.
It fitts!

rebecca Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 08:15 AM EST

I don't think it is Christian Slater,b/c he just started his show and i doubt he has that much clout in tv yet.Plus i believe he gets along with all of his co-stars. I also don't think it is David Caruso b/c HE CAN'T ACT and CAN'T GET A ROLE ON ANY OTHER SHOW/MOVIE! So my guess is Donald Southerland. He is a good actor and has lots of clout in hollywood.

Martin Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 05:26 AM EST

Caruso and Procter didn't have a scene together since ages. It is all so obvious. People have been wondering about it since last season. Now it all makes sense.
It is most definitely Caruso and Procter of CSI Miami.

Sandra Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 05:23 AM EST

David Caruso is the first one that comes to my mind. Everythings fitts - even the hint that Alexander was left the show because of him .
I would rather have Caruso left the hsow. He is useless anyway.
Thumbs up for Procter!

Simon Wakefield Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 04:19 AM EST

Its CSI Miami without doubt. Its one of the worst kept secrets that Caruso is difficult to work with and Khandi Alexander was widely reported to have left in part due to him.

Now while the characters of Haritio and Callie have shared a tiny amount of screen time this season, and a tiny bit last season theres a major tell tale sign that somethings going on in these few scenes. You never get a scene between the two thats filmed with both faces visable, they are shot either in a
a) switching two shot so only one is on screen at once
b)shot in silhouette so it could be anyone
c)shot facing each other with the camera positioned showing the back of one and face of the other

They don't use any of these tactics with ANYONE else and seem like shooting techniques so that they don't have to shoot scenes together.

Crystal Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 03:15 AM EST

It is not CSI Miami. Khandi Alexander, the ME,left because she is starting a new show. Look at the hints, the big chill, Mr. Big, thespian actor, Method, and the last clue "they lost one actress".

It is funny how we can all trash someone's rep when we don't even know. If this isn't true all of this negativity will still be in people's minds and that is what they will remember. You can retract statements but you can't retract the info from people's minds.

Phoebe Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 12:09 AM EST

Emily is such a sweet thing. Everybody likes her. In contrast to Caruso. Almost everybody hates him.
What a sore loser!

Lindsey Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 11:57 PM EST

David Caruso! It's a sham but his real life antics have made me disinterested in this show! Khandi left and Emly will not Play in a scene with him! Cannot really blame them.

Emily Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 09:38 PM EST

David Caruso!

Sara Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 08:26 PM EST

Patrick Dempsey & Katherine Heigl just had scenes together in a recent epi. Can't be them

hannah Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 07:47 PM EST

David Caruso, no doubt about it .

Bibiane Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 06:04 PM EST

David Caruso! I have tried a lot of other options - but the evidence always comes back to him. Let's face it, Caruso is known to be a major pain-in-the-ass. I doubt he has changes. Kudos to Emily procter for speaking her mind! I would have too. After all, Caruso is just an employee like the rest of the cast. I can't stand guys who think the world owes them!

steve Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 05:51 PM EST

CSI: Miami - Emily Proctor and David Caruso its fits untill he states the lead female is the only person with enough clout to stand up to him and would Emily Procter really have that much clout am not so sure

John Sugden Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 05:36 PM EST

Anyone bother to read the title? Big Chill is a golden clue. The bloom is off the rose for this show's newish male cast member... Here is a slightly less subtle clue: Jeff Goldblum.

Carmen Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 05:13 PM EST

David Caruso, no doubt about it. Poor Emily Procter. my heart goes out to her!

kat Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 04:32 PM EST

JAYBIRD: I thought the same thing. Can you think of a scene this year with Donald Sutherland on screen with his wife??

Feliz Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 03:35 PM EST

If it smells like David Caruso, if it walks like David Caruso, if it talks like David Caruso - it IS David Caruso!

Simple as that.

Maya Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 03:33 PM EST

CSI Miami. David Caruso and Emily Procter. David Caruso is widely known as a pain in the ass and hard to work with.
I applauf Procter for standing up against such an obvious set-terrorist!

Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 03:20 PM EST

The red hair in the picture means nothing, it's the logo for the column now since he finally got rid of the My Name Is Earl picture since every single time at least a handful of morons guessed that show.

* Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 03:13 PM EST

It can't be Marg and Billy cause they are like best friends offscreen. They just did a tv guide interview together recently and both said they would like to see their characters (Catherine and Grissom) get together.

It can't be NY cause Melina and Gary have been in more scenes with each other this season than with anyone else.

It isn't Numbers because Don and Amita have had plenty of scenes together and I wouldn't call Amita the leading lady either. And Diane Farr just recently had a kid, so that's probably why she left the show.

My guess would be CSI Miami and David, Emily and Khandi. Though I believe it was said that Khandi left because she didn't get a lot of screen time. I've heard she was displeased with the lack of storylines for her character. And I don't get why some say Emily doesn't have the clout to stand up to that. I completely disagree with that. She's got the clout w/out a doubt.

Best guess is Miami (if its even true).

Rolling Eyes Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 02:50 PM EST

Just like last year's portalphobia item--now here, we have over 200 postings and yet no answer--of course, the portalphobia business was all made up--THIS really must be true--yeah, right.

Valerie Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 02:03 PM EST

The same here. If you connect the dotts and eliminate all the unlikely candidates you keep coming back to David Caruso. Shame on him!

arial Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 01:53 PM EST

I tried to be fair and go through every show, but I, too, kept coming back to David Caruso. And Emily Procter has the popularity to just say no to his antics. Didn't he learn anything from his experience after leaving NYPD Blue? If he's the reason Khandi Alexander left, I think TPTB need to let the next "Horatio get's shot" scene end differently than the last one. Horatio has become such a joke and the series such a soap opera.

J Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 01:23 PM EST

It can't be Glenn Close and Ted Danson. They shared a good amount of scenes together during the first season, and if you saw the finale, you would know why they won't have many in season 2. And plus, the next season hasn't even aired yet, and Damages is not a "hot show." Maybe to the critics and awards circuit it's big, but it's ratings were terrible.

Mikka Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 12:19 PM EST

Yes, Ausiello, reveal the dirty stuff to us. We all know its Caruso. We just want you to confirm it!

HeyYou Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 11:53 AM EST

I really wish these rumors could be revealed because they are so juicy.

I'm not sure how much of this CSI: Miami stuff was made up by the fans ever since Mike fielded a question about when he was at TV Guide but I just find it funny that David Caruso is considered a master thespian.

That's just hilarious. I mean, do people seriously enjoy that show? They need to watch more Oz, Deadwood, The Wire, Lost, Twin Peaks... anything but CSI: Miami.

Pete Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 10:31 AM EST

Scott - this rumors about Caruso/Procter not getting along started over one year ago. Ausellio is not the firts one to hint at troubles between those two people.
Episode "Stand your ground" is a great example as to how the writers write scenes that avoid those two people be in the same room at the same time.
Very telling!

Susie Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 10:07 AM EST

David Caruso/Emily Proctor/Khandi Alexander (as the one who has left)

Hans Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 09:38 AM EST

BBF12: I don't think that Messer (the actor playing him) is behaving like a Diva on the set.
Rest assured it is CSI Miami.
Sad to see that a once promising actor like David Caruso has reduced himself to irratic behavior and bullying of other cast members.

Katharina Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 09:14 AM EST

Master Thespian? David Caruso.
Irratic behavior on set? David Caruso
It fitts perfectly.

Thank you Auseliio to keep us informed.

Chris Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 09:00 AM EST

Personally I think David Caruso is the bedts guess. He is known for his bad behavior.

Scott Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 08:39 AM EST

In response to the person who was talking about last night's episode of CSI Miami, that was a rerun from last season, so that part could not have related to the story.

Jeez, Louise Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 08:27 AM EST

The proof is in the pudding:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sarYH0z948

jaybird Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 08:05 AM EST

Am I the only person thinking "Dirty Sexy Money"? It has a master thespian lead, a leading lady with clout, and an actress who didn't return for a second season...

Sara Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 07:45 AM EST

Isnt "juicy" the tag line for Desperate Housewives? Would have thought Mike and Susan would have had more scenes together...

MDEP Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 07:34 AM EST

Only a few people said their names, but I just needed to point out - it cannot be Dempsey and Heigl on Grey's - they have had scenes together this season. Plus, if it was Katherine Heigl, she's so outspoken, we probably would have a direct quote from her, lol.

If it was Greys, maybe its Dempsey and Chandra Wilson - Have they had any scenes together this season? I think she has the clout. But the storyline hint may not support this one.

Jaime Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 06:44 AM EST

Carmine Giovinazzo is not the star of CSI NY Gary Sinise is, and Anna Belkap is not the shows female lead. Thats Melina Kanakaredes

BBFAN12 Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 06:34 AM EST

I hope everyone who chose CSI Miami is right, but have you forgotten about CSI New York? Danny and Lindsey (Carmine and Anna) have not had any season together, together this year at all, and yet they are suppose to have a BABY later on. I hope it's Miami and not NY.

anonymous Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 05:25 AM EST

"Juicy"??? You mustn't be much fun in bed! True or not, with your previous pathetic portalphobia porky, your credibility when it comes to things David Caruso is zilch

Pete Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 02:46 AM EST

My take:
Hot show : CSI Miami
Actress who left/lost: Khandi Alexander or Kim Delaney
Actress with stones to rock the boat: Emily Procter
Actor with master thespian baggage: David Caruso

Birgit Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 02:35 AM EST

Ausellio did a great job on this one.
Just publish information you get from the set and let it run ist course. Perfect.
EVERYTHING ins Ausellios report points at Caruso.
As my grandmother used to say - It is what it is. Caruso's reputation has never been a good one. This incident just adds to his the oddity this man is.

Mia Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 02:23 AM EST

Oh please, the whole article screams David Caruso.
Understandable that some fans prefer the illusion that it might nit be true over the sad truth.
David Caruso is widdely known for his bad behavior.
David Caruso is widely known for his ridiculous Diva-antics.
And no blame shifiting - onto an alleged stalker is going to help/ or make it going away.

Like someone posted before - David Caruso is what he is...

Kim Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 02:17 AM EST

Funny, I thought the same while watching episode "Stand your ground" tonight.
It was a Calleigh centered-episode and Horatio - who has the annoying habit to heap his concern on helpless women and children never even comforted her nor offered her help? How much more obvious can it be?

Caruso - I never liked that guy. Now I know why. Proctor on the other hand is nice and good looking.

Matt Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 02:16 AM EST

Considering these "blind items" only serve to trash someone's reputation--and are never answered what's the point? I remember that whole "portalphobia" crap and the fact it was totally bulls--t. The "mole" then was some nitwit stalker without a life--who planted the story with Defamer and passed it on to Ausiello--if the information is from the same "reliable" mole--Ernie has a point, do the math.

Ines Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 01:50 AM EST

Don't attack the messenger (Ausellio)or "the mole" . Blame Caruso for his stupid behavior.

Great comment, Patrick! My educated guess is Caruso and Procter as well. It has been obvious for one year.
When CSI Miami first aired they had a lot of scenes together. Since season 6 began their screentime together is almost non-existent.

Wow, is your "mole" the same one that supplied your information on the "portalphobia" crap last year? Maybe it's time to get a better mole.....

i don't think it's 30 Rock because Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin seem very much to be friends on and off screen.

my first guess was Wiliam Peterson and Marg Helegenberger, and since Jorja Fox recently left the show i wondered if she was the "one female star" they were talking about.

But other people's guesses of Caruson and Procter seems to make a lot more sense to me.

Oh, and for everyone who has guessed "Damages" because of the Big Chill phrase in the title of this blind item ("Hot Show's Stars Feel a Big Chill"), you are focusing on the wrong part.

You should be looking at the "Hot Show" phrase.

"Hot" = "Miami"

On November 19, 2007, CSI: Miami aired an epsiode titled "Stand Your Ground."

On November 21, 2007, this question was posed to Ausiello in TV Guide: "Horatio and Calleigh, who used to work so well together, have had two scenes together, each less than a minute long, in the past 26 episodes of CSI: Miami. Can you please enlighten us exasperated fans as to what happened between David Caruso and Emily Procter..."

This morning Ausiello runs this blind item in EW, and appropriately enough, "Stand Your Ground" re-aired tonight.

It was not a coincidence. The episode is a perfect example of how Procter is standing her ground and refusing to work with Caruso, and the insane way the writers have worked around it.

In this episode, Calleigh is accused of misconduct and may have killed an innocent woman, but Horatio (her boss)never speaks to her. No questions about the incident, no assurances to find the truth, no comforting when she is cleared.

It's ridiculous!
