If too many seasons go by and you haven't added characters then after a while you've kind of seen all the possible combinations of people getting together who could possibly get together. Adding new people is a good thing, especially these two, who have been so good on other shows.

I'm still waiting for a hot sexy black male or asian male to help give Grey's some real substance. This WASP theme/issues is so boring. My sister and I use to call one another during the commercial breaks of Grey's to discuss the previous segment.

I used to love the KH character Izzie. Her s/l with Denny was beyond heartwarming and tuched me somewhere deep. That said, she has become positively annoying and I for one would be so happy to see her go. You need someone with a heart? I think Mer's little sister fits the bill now, just with more spunk. Katherine Heigl is the heart of the show, like it or not, it's true. The Izzy/Denny storyline was one of the most powerful on TV. Plus, KH was absolutely correct in her statements about lack of quality material - does anyone disagree with her?? I'm really sick of people harping on one of the few female celebrities willing to have some balls and speak her mind. I personally think more women in Hollywood should take her lead.

Too crowded. They're running into ER syndrome - at one point, it seemed like the credits for that show lasted 10 minutes, what with all of the people they had to list. Shonda et al need to sit down and watch Season 2 of Heroes to see what can go wrong when you saturate the show with new blood. There's only so much screen time to go around, and you'll anger the audience if you short-change their favorite characters in order to shoe-horn in stories for new ones.

I'm always willing to give Shonda and co. the benefit of the doubt, so I won't totally bash the idea just yet. But I will say I'm pretty pessimistic... SGH already feels much too crowded. Addison was a great addition, but at the time she was only joining a regular cast of 9. At the end of season 4, we had 12 regulars and I hear McScotty will be the 13th. So yeah... 15 already seems like a bit much. I am prepared to say buh-bye to KH/Izzie though. Just my two cents.

I used to love love GA in season 1 and season 2, there were interesting medical cases, sharp, smart and realistic dialogues and thoughtful relationships which touched a chord and now what is it? A step more in the same direction and it will be prime time soap opera.Whatever that means! All this over crowding is just not right, how many parallel storylines can you push forward in 1 hour episode? Mcsteamy and Hahn should go along with Izzie (Heigl is fine, I just dislike the character she plays) and I sorely miss the good old cute bumbling George, the current one is so twisted and convoluted much like the other damaged types that abound the halls of Seattle Grace. I hope Shonda's people inform her of the audience's feedback and I hope they do something to bring about a drastic change or end the serial after 5th season.

I agree with the poster who said that if new characters are being added, Grey's is at the point where they need to approach it like ER (or Law & Order). When characters join, others should leave. It's not that I don't like having new faces (Addison was an addition that I loved, I also love Callie, and I am okay with Lexie and others); it's that there are so many characters that it is difficult to give them all proper storylines and/or screentime. As of right now, it seems like this cast has just gotten to be too massive.

Come on Shonda, you are a sister in power and the two African American roles are only sounding boards for your White characters. There have been no Black love scenes since Burke left. That is a shame for such a horny hospital.
Shonda, flex a little muscle and write a fleshed out, sexual, smart, quirky and interesting Black character. PLEASE! Then maybe I will tune in on the 25th. So far, Grey's is off my DVR. Heigl irks me and I hate that they made Callie gay instead of George. I knew he was gay before he was pushed out of the closet. He cannot act that well. Cary Grant, he ain't.

Sloane on the other hand, I'll never forget this one scene where he had to share some bad news with Meredith or one of the other characters and he just hung his head and it was such bad acting that instead of crying like I usually do, I started laughing! It was so awful and I think that's why he hasn't gotten bigger storylines because he only plays funny well. I think the cool thing about Addison was that she was brought on to play this bitchy ex-wife but because she was so good at playing other situations and emotions she got a bigger role. He can't get a bigger role and is just taking up space playing the same thing over and over. He's got to go! Okay I'm done.

The new additions are good, if they can act. They need to get rid of underperformers like McSteamy (he's cute but terrible) and maybe that obnoxious doctor dating Callie, I can't even remember her name and I've watched every episode of the show. I don't dislike Lexie and I don't love her, I wouldn't be upset if they got rid of her and I wouldn't be upset if they kept her. They really need to get rid of Sloane though, he adds nothing to the show and constricts the storylines they can tell. He can only do moderately funny, he can't do drama at all. It drives me nuts. He is no Addison, that's for sure!

Already disgusted in the show because of the George and Lexi situation. George is GAY! Sorry TR but you can't play straight. George is the whinniest character on the show - he should leave with Hiegl. Knocked up would have been just as big of a hit without her in it - can't wait to see her realize that her head is bigger than her movie career.

If any of the writers ever read these things can I just ask them to go back and re-watch season 1 - that's why the fans fell in love with the show. That's what made it the success that it became and that's why we don't need a whole host of new characters when the relationships between the originals are no longer explored in this manner. When you've fixed the problem and returned the show to what it was, THEN you can successfully incorporate new characters to back that up... you can't fix the problem with new characters when that's the problem in the first place.

Totally agree with almost everyone else that GA does not need any more cast members. He's been on the show for two years now, and I'm still waiting for Shonda to give Mark a storyline. Cristina is a great character, but she was also totally wasted in S4. I want to find out more about the characters already on GA. I don't need what little time they are currently getting each episode diluted further by new characters.

Why does this show keep making the wrong mistakes? Listen Grey's, the FANS WANT BACK STORIES OF THE INTERNS AND ORIGINALS! Bringing in new people isn't helping the ratings. Grey's lost 20 percent of its viewers last fall. Lexie, Ava, and Hahn didn't help, how in the world do you think more new characters will help?!?

GOD! NO NEW REGULAR CAST MEMBERS PLEASE!!! I am begging you Shonda, there are too many people already. We never get to see anything of the characters we actually care about.

You already have about 4 characters that could stand to get off the set. Don't add more, for the love of god! And everytime I seek that freaking disaster of a nurse, I swear I think about never tuning in again. EVERY TIME I SEE HER.

I didn't buy the S4 DVD because she is all over it. No new Merder and more plant scenes. Is someone at ABC on drugs? Just when I think you might be getting it, it turns out you are all hopeless.

But one thing that is in your control, Shonda...NO NEW CHARACTERS except to pop up when necessary.

This show does not need any more characters. I could see if they have them as recurring ones that pop up from time to time like some of the nurses do. There barely is any screen time for the main characters now. I could see maybe having 9 to 10 regular cast, but no 13 or 14. Pretty much all of the other shows on TV has 6 to 8 members. I don't want to see each character only have 5 minutes of screen time. I want to see the "magic" that had me enthralled at the beginning of this show and not turn it into a soap opera.

The show is already way too crowded. The original characters don't get enough airtime! I want to see more Mer/Der, mote of Mark, Cristina, and the original 5. Please, stop adding new characters! I don't mind McKidd because he's brought in as a love interest for Cristina, but 2 more people? It's unnecessary.

Too crowded.

The show doesn't need new interns. I only care about the original interns (Alex, Meredith, Izzie, Cristina and George) and it's just getting to be way to many characters on the show.
