Just in time for the weekend, it's a special TGIF edition of Casting Scoops!

* If Dean thinks Hell is hell, wait till he sees what's waiting for him back on Earth this season: Supernatural has cast The Wire's Robert Wisdom in the recurring role of Uriel, a dangerous, intimidating, aloof, imperious, contemptuous, humorless killer.  Sounds like a real peach, huh?

* House has admitted Samantha Shelton (Monarch Cove) to play a fitness instructor who comes down with a (brace yourself!) stupefying illness in a November episode.

* Wallace Shawn (The Princess Bride, Clueless) is joining Gossip Girl for a multi-episode arc as Cyrus, father to Serena's new artsy-fartsy boyfriend Aaron (John Patrick Amedori). If Team Schwavage follows the Gossip Girl books, Cyrus will eventually marry Blair's mother, Eleanor. Here's hoping they follow the books, 'cause the thought of Wallace Shawn as Blair's stepdad is hilarious with a capital HIGH.

* Martin Mull will guest-star on the Oct. 28 episode of Law & Order: SVU as a doctor. An SVU insider calls it "a big Tamara Tunie episode," which is typically code for "Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay had the week off!"

That person here who said Supernatural was a dumb show? You're an idiot! Supernatural is the best show on TV and Robert Wisdom will just make it even better.

Thanks for the SPN casting scoop! The show has had a number of really talented guests/recurrings ... and this is just another example of that.

I thought it was code for "Tamara Tunie's estranged father comes back into her life in a dramatic way"...

Count me in as exicted to see Robert Wisdom on SN. I haven't seen The Wire but from all that I've heard, it was an excellent series with an excellent cast and I'm super pumped that SN managed to snag one of their alum as a recurring character!!!

I think Wallace Shawn will be going out with blair's mom because he fits the description in the book of Blair's mom's new boyfriend.

Supernatural: So not a dumb show. Robert Wisdom: The greatest. Made Prison Break last year. As for Wallace Shawn, yeah, he can go over the top, but when he's great, he's great and I love love love that Gossip Girl is picking up on New York actors. Let's get Cheyenne Jackson, Tamara Tunie, and all that crew on the show! Yay!

Wallace Shawn has been great in previous roles, but now he's just a caricature. I worry that his quirkiness will take away from the rest of the show...

LOVE Robert Wisdom.

Might even watch that dumb show just to see him.

I'm just reading the books now Mike, and I believe it's written as Cyrus. I was so confused with your spelling, did you get written info from someone else with this spelling?
