Exclusive: 'Lost' Resurrects Michelle Rodriguez!

Michelle Rodriguez, arguably one of the more polarizing personalities to have ever gotten Lost, is returning to the show this season, multiple sources confirm to me exclusively.

Details of her comeback are, not surprisingly, shrouded in secrecy, but here's what I can tell you:

•    Rodriguez is back for one episode, most likely this season's second. As a result, the risk to Hawaii's roadways is said to be minimal.

•    Given that Ana Lucia's bullet-riddled body is probably entering the final stage of decomposition, conventional Lost wisdom (if there is such a thing) points to her appearing in someone's flashback or via hallucination. The fact that Cheech Marin is also on the guest list for eppy 2 suggests that it's most likely a Hurley-centric outing. And after his encounter with Charlie's ghost last season, it's certainly feasible that Hurley would have an imaginary run-in with Ana Lucia. There's also this theory, put forth by EW's own Doc Jensen: "Maybe Ana Lucia busted L.A.-based Ghost Hustler Miles during her pre-crash LAPD days, and now the freighter folkster is seeing visions of the late Tailie on the Island!"

•    Rodriguez's return follows last season's "resurrection" of fellow doomed Tailie Cynthia Watros (Libby), who appeared in a vision to Michael. Could Mr. Eko be next, thus completing, as Jensen jests, the "Busted Tailie Story Line Redemption Tour"?

But let's not get ahead of ourselves -- first we've got to process this M.R. news, and that means posing the following question to Lost fans: Are you looking forward to seeing Ana Lucia again, even if for just a brief stint? Or would you have preferred that she remain dead and buried alongside Paolo and Nikki? Sound off below!

I loved her one the show, definitely one of my favorite TV characters of all time. I guess I can understand all the fan boys hating her conflict, but I loved her character since day 1.

I also have a theory about Ana's appearance, that involves a "Crash" like event with Hurley's dad at the scene of Nadia's fatal accident, to which - hold on here, I've been watching Primeval - Ana Lucia responds because she has not left the LAPD yet. We were warned to expect something totally different from the FB-FF arrangement. And consider this: Ben lands in Tunisia 8 mos. after turning the donkey wheel, yet somehow all the FFs of last season took place over six years? I don't think so. I have a hunch she's not handling her career very well though, which is a terrible shame because she is a one-note actress and needs to grab her chances now while she can. I, personally, liked Ana Lucia and her portrayal by M.R. AL's point of view was interesting to me because no one else had been portrayed that way... get them before they get us! I don't necessarily agree with the POV - but I appreciate that SOMEONE had it!

Leave her in the jungle. Season 2 was by far the least interesting season, and she was a large part of it. There is no mystery surrounding Ana Lucia, and nothing worth dredging her tired corpse up for.

I liked Michelle Rodriguez better in the pilot before she got her teeth capped. After that, I couldn't take her seriously--her teeth dominated her face.

Michelle Rodriguez may be one-note, but then so was John Wayne and a score of other extremely popular actors. Her one-note is exceedingly attractive, in my opinion - she does attitude every bit as well and way better than some of the best Lost characters. I have a hunch she's not handling her career very well though, which is a terrible shame because she is a one-note actress and needs to grab her chances now while she can. I predict she will not age well nor have the acting chops to get back in, when she will eventually want to - as do all actors who think they are too cool eventually do. Think Lohan, who will figure it out too late, and Downey who figured it out in the nick of time..

Love Michelle Rodriguez! She is an amazing actress. I was sad to see her go so soon. I thought her character added a lot to the storyline. I thought Kate was useless and should have been killed off.

I will be glad to see Ana Lucia again because there were a lot of unanswered questions (big surprise) - the big one for me would be that she was acting as a body guard for Jack's Dad while he was in Australia, right? And in that episode, didn't AL and Jack's dad visit the wierd psychic guy that told Claire not to have her baby? What is the connection there? Did he pay the psychic guy to give Claire the ticket to LA?

The question was about the return of the character Ana Lucia, not the actress who played her. I welcome any story line the writers care to deliver to us as they have done such a delicious job of keeping the story filled with surprises, but I did not enjoy the actresses portrayal of Ana and will suffer through her performance, no doubt. I'm glad it's just one episode. But I'm intrigued at what connection Ana Lucia will have to Hurley. I await the new season with great anticipation of once again being swept along in a tale of intrigue and mystery unlike any I've ever experienced.

Wow, this is unfortunate news, just when Lost was really rocking. Why bring back a useless character and the one-expression actress who played her. I guess the producers could get her cheap; since she single-handedly imploded her own career, her price has probably dropped like a rock. Ah well, at least it's only one episode.

I never felt she was a part of the narrative, and was killed too abruptly to be sympathetic. I'd rather these episodes concentrate on the hot and outrageous. I also like flashbacks, and how we are all interconnected by fewer degrees of separation. The butterfly wings causing the cyclone, and all that.

Well if it's true that Ana-Lucia will be on a Hurly episode. How about this for a twist. What if Hurley sees a picture of her off the island, say in some of his dads stuff. It would fit if Cheech is on this same episode. We know he left Hurly when Hurly was young. Why he left was never explained. I know it sounds like Jack/Claire, but think about it. Why not link one of the most hated characters(per posts) to one of the most liked.

I'm shocked that they are bringing Ana Lucia back. Surprisingly, though, it's a great, good shock, which even to me, surprises me. I liked Ana Lucia in season 2 although I wasn't tearing up her shockingly departure. I thought people really misunderstood her. And wrongfully so. But I'm delighted to see her back. She's a strong character.

I'm ambivalent when it comes to AL. On the one hand, I'm glad the writers are using people from the past. It's always fun on a show when they do this. With that said however, I'm glad it's only for one ep. Even though I think the writers would do an OK job bringing her back into the mix, because they are on a roll right now, I don't think they need anymore characters. They should be subtracting. Not adding.

Yes...I am clearly excited by the prospect of both Michelle and her character's return to the series; since, it was her original appearence on the show that lead me to watch "Lost" in the first place.

I can only hope that the appearence is both logical(Ha!) and respectful(Double Ha!) to the character she so desperately tried to bring dignity to during the nightmare that was Season 2.

I'm eagerly looking forward to her return...After all that Ms. Rodriguez has been through in the past year; I think that this is definitely coming full circle for her! Brava to one of my favourite actresses...

Oh, and I agree with BA...A bikini-clad Michelle would most assuredly be a plus!!! ;)

I'm OK with Ana Lucia coming back for an ep, but I was one of many who did not lament her demise. Much rather have Charlie or Mr. Eko back. Or Libby. Hurley really does deserve a break when it comes to women.

My theories are proving to be piffle, but my one theory from the beginning of the show is that Rose & Bernard are crucial to the end game. That is what will redeem the tailie storyline, Doc!
