Question: Any new information on Lost? I know they start filming pretty soon, and you're good for the spoiler stuff, so hit us up, brother. -- Joseph Robertson
Ausiello: Soon? Try two days ago. Production on season 5 got under way on Monday, and among the many new characters we'll meet in the first ep will be an attractive Asian woman named Martha. She's a smart, capable scientist who's taking a break to raise her baby. Paging Doc Jensen….Doc Jensen to Ask Ausiello, stat…. "At Comic-Con, Cuselof screened a new Dharma video featuring Dr. Marvin Candle, in which he reveals his true name (Pierre Chang) and claims he's sending a message from 30 years in the past to our present moment. During the video, we hear a baby crying, and Chang stands up at one point to tell someone off screen to shush the baby up. Could Martha be Candle/Chang's wife? And if she is, that means her name is likely Martha Chang. Which means she shares a name with Martha Chang, producer of such kid movies as 3 Ninjas and Galgameth, the story of a boy and his dragon." Question: Do you know what prompts the Oceanic 6 to return to the island this season on Lost? -- Gary
Ausiello: I'm told there are a whole host of reasons, not the least of which involves * ****** ****** ******* ** ****** *****. Or so I hear.
Question: You've seen the first two Gossip Girl episodes?! Spill! -- Melissa
Ausiello: As I mentioned in my Gossip Girl premiere party wrap-up video, I got the distinct impression that the show is laying the groundwork for a possible Rufus-Vanessa pairing. The signs are subtle, but they're there. I'm curious to see what you guys think. Elsewhere, there's a scene between Leighton Meester and guest cougar Madchen Amick in the second episode that was so good I nearly wept. No surprise that exec producer Stephanie Savage -- who's second only to Patrick Mulcahey (Santa Barbara) when it comes to writing bitchtastic dialogue -- penned the outing. Oh, and many words have been used to describe Chace Crawford's Nate -- hot, sexy, tasty, yummy, etc. Well, by the end of the second ep, you'll be able to add male prostitute to that list.
Question: Any news on the search for Ryan on Brothers & Sisters? -- Tara, NY
Ausiello: Casting for the role of William Walker's long-lost son officially got under way last week, and that can only mean one thing: We finally have a character description! Ryan is described as follows: "Caucasian, early 20s. Good looking, charming John John Kennedy type. The All-American golden boy who commands a room by his mere presence and affability. He is a definite alpha male." There's still time to make a case for [insert name of your fave unemployed twentysomething actor].
Question: I just watched all three seasons of Veronica Mars and loved it! Any word on a VM movie? -- Sam
Ausiello: Yeah, I'd say there's been a minor development in the past 24 hours.
Question: Got anything on the season premiere of Sarah Connor Chronicles? -- Joey
Ausiello: Is there a word for someone who has an irrational fear of urinals? Urinalphobia? Whatever it is, I have a hunch lots more people will be suffering from it after the episode airs.
Question: Do you want to give me some Supernatural scoop? -- Hillary
Ausiello: As a matter of fact, I do! Prison Break's Dameon Clarke will be channeling his inner Jeff Goldblum when he guest stars this November as a middle-class father who begins to freak out when he realizes he's turning into a terrifying fly-like creature.
Question: Any One Tree Hill scoops? I hope that Lucas helps Brooke during her dark phase. -- Rachel
Ausiello: He may be too busy going Hollywood. Later this season, the show will be introducing an "edgy and confident" independent movie producer. Cue the inevitable speculation that Lucas is turning his first novel into a film.
Question: Please, please, please tell me that CBS is going to be airing the new season of Dexter! Please? -- Kim Hays
Ausiello: Nah, that little experiment was a spectacular failure. You're going to have to pony up the extra $40 a month and subscribe to Showtime. Hurry up though, 'cause the third season kicks off in a little more than a month, and, believe me, you're going to want to watch the first episode live. There's a jaw-dropping twist at the end of the premiere that will be all over the Internets the next morning.
Question: What happened to all the Dirty Sexy Money scoops? I haven't heard much since the strike other than Samaire Armstrong leaving. Where's the dirt? -- Tara
Ausiello: The show has completed its midsummer retooling, and I hear one of the big developments is that Patrick's wife, Ellen, is getting a brother (played by Scott Holroyd). And let's just say he's going to take the news that his brother-in-law is bedding a transsexual a lot harder than Ellen did. So Carmelita, if you're reading this, stay in hiding!
Question: I've been enjoying Ausiello TV, but I am wondering: Who is that horrible woman that keeps attacking you and trying to take away all your scoops? -- Matt
Ausiello: I'd rather not give out her name. The last thing she needs is more free publicity. Besides, I'm happy to report that her reign of terror is about to come to an end. Stay tuned….

Question: What are you hearing about the new CBS show The Eleventh Hour? -- Patrick
Ausiello: I'm hearing the network's pulling a Dollhouse and launching with a new first episode and moving the pilot to ep 2 or 3. According to showrunner Ethan Reiff (Sleeper Cell), the "pilot involves reproductive cloning, and I think the feeling was that maybe aspects were so controversial and dark that, even though it was [a good episode], maybe CBS wanted to hold on to it until the audience met our characters and our show through a slightly less controversial story."
Question: Got anything on my latest obsession, Army Wives? -- Jackie
Ausiello: Ex-wife of Prince and famed choreographer Mayte Garcia is doing a multi-episode arc as Jennifer, the wife of a lieutenant colonel and a recent addition to the post.
Question: Is there going to be any new romance among the main characters in the upcoming season of CSI that does not include Grissom and Sara? -- Liz
Ausiello: I have it on good authority that things are going to start heating up in the lab between Wendy and Hodges.
Question: What's the latest on the whole "Izzie gets a brain tumor" rumor? -- Jodie
Ausiello: It's been replaced by the completely new "Izzie falls for the deer whose life she saved last season" rumor. Think I'm nuts? Check out what Shonda Rhimes just told TV Guide: “Izzie’s got a love story -- and it's a big one, one that I’ve been kicking around in my head for a bit, one that required me to take a huge leap of faith in myself, one that is so secret that I have not told anyone. Not the writers, not anyone." What else could it be, right? The only other thing I can think of is that she hooks up with her estranged daughter's adoptive father. Nah, it's gotta be the deer.
Question: A couple of weeks ago you dropped a huge spoiler on us about Christine and Barb getting married on Old Christine. I'm dying for details! Do you have anything for us? -- Dave
Ausiello: Not about the marriage, but something equally exciting: The show is playing host to an Arrested Development reunion! Julia Louis Dreyfus' former AD costar Jeffrey Tambor has signed on to guest star as Neil (a.k.a. the Lizard Guy) in one episode. Interesting footnote: This episode was originally supposed to air last season, with Jason Alexander playing Reptile Man. But then the strike happened and Alexander got shoehorned into another ep as a gynecologist. Fascinating bit of trivia, yes?
Question: Any scoop on Cold Case? -- Nicki F
Ausiello: Danny Pino's getting a new squeeze this season -- a twentysomething lab tech that, like Detective Valens, grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in Philly.
Question: Remember Smallville? You haven't mentioned it in weeks. Give us something. -- Rob
Ausiello: Lex's possibly evil stand-in Tess has a connection to someone in Smallville. Hint: He's green and ripped and runs around with an arrow. Was that too easy?
Question: I would love to know more about the Chloe-Davis/Doomsday relationship on Smallville. -- Mab
Ausiello: Clark and Chloe find themselves on opposing sides when a serial killer starts wreaking havoc on Metroplis in this season's sixth episode. Clark suspects Davis/Doomsday is the culprit, but Chloe's having none of it. Strengthening Clark's resolve: D/D just so happens to black out whenever there's a new murder.
Question: I just received this email from Dunder Mifflin about their summer weight-loss initiative. Is this perhaps a taste of things to come on The Office? -- Andy G
