Exclusive Video: Blake Lively Pledges Allegiance to America (Ferrera)

Categories: Ausiello TV

It was like a scene straight out of Gossip Girl: Tensions flare between two BFFs after one of them is caught rolling her eyes at the other during a live television interview. The situation escalates when the clip makes its way onto the Internet and quickly becomes a viral sensation, igniting talk that the divas are now dueling.

Unfortunately for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars Blake Lively and America Ferrera, this was no juicy soap plot; it was real life. And now, in this exclusive video interview conducted over the weekend at Gossip Girl’s season 2 premiere party, Lively for the first time reacts to the hullabaloo, and clears the air about what really transpired behind the scenes at the now-infamous satellite interview.

Well, don’t just sit there rolling your eyes — push play!

Hm.. I am not getting any sound. Odd, but thanks anyway. :)

  • Amelia

I don’t think there is a feud. I just think America was frustrated that they were talking about Gossip Girl and not Sisterhood.

  • Jennifer

Ha nice cover, but clearly America was annoyed with her inane comments about Gossip Girl.

  • Ashley

She probably rolled her eyes to the part with dating the parents, which is when she did it.

  • Alexandra

i’m sure it was just that the interviewer asked about something besides what they were there to promote, and not any ill will to lively. I mean really.

  • zinky27

she was probably rolling her eyes at the fact that blake lively is a self absorbed twat who couldn’t stop talking about her painfully horrible show

  • Katy

I think America was annoyed because no one talks about Ugly Betty, and everyone is talking about Gossip Girl, this proves that no matter how good your ratings can be, if no one talks about your show is just not that good, she seems kind of jelaous about this ..

  • J.

America was just jealous they weren’t asking her about Ugly Betty.

  • PT

One of these actresses is brilliant, witty, has an interesting and varied fim resume and an awesome sense of irony … and the other one is Blake Lively.

  • nunya

i like both blake and america and thought they had the 2 best plotlines in TSTP 2. but doesn’t ‘Ugly Betty’ get way higher ratings than GG?

  • duranmom

I believe America was rolling her eyes at the content of Gossip Girl (dating each others’ parents…?) not her actress/friend. I’m sure they also talked about Ugly Betty, but unless there was some eyerolling from Blake, we won’t see the footage on the net.

  • minderbinder

    Link to the original clip?

  • funkymono (aka Jeremy)

Duranmom and Ashley hit the nail on the head.

Are you kidding me?! Gossip Girl will NEVER compare to Ugly Betty. The only ones who are talking incessantly about Gossip Girl are teeny boppers, dramatic soap opera lovers, and horny folks who like to see teenagers bed-hopping. So, in Gossip Girl’s case, talk is cheap and the hype is meaningless.

  • Jules

Gee Michael, I would love to press play but that would be useless for me since I need captions!
But why am I bothering you with this petty issue? You didn’t listen when you were at TvGuide and you definitely won’t listen now!
Maybe there are kind readers out there who wouldn’t mind writing the script for us!? It would be deeply appreciative!

  • Steph F.

    lol.

America Ferrera is a great woman. She started with low budget movies and turned out to be a real talent. She loves her curvaceous figure and now she stated a new diet which turned out to be exactly what she needed to lose weight. I read about her diet and workout at http://www.projectweightloss.com. She is loved by everyone!

    Slow news day, eh?
Or would that be much ado about nothing? And yes, duranmom and Ashley nailed it on the head. I really wish people wouldn’t read into things. Then again, controversy creates ca$h. Wouldn’t it be funny if someone from Gossip Girl intentionally tried to start a “viral” controversy to get the show noticed?
    Nah. Never happened.

  • Elle

I rolled my eyes too when Blake said “dating each others parents”. I mean come on!

  • bradywrites

I’m afraid I didn’t get the memo where I had to choose either Ugly Betty or Gossip Girl. I love them both for admittedly different reasons.

    For Jules & et:
Ausiello: I’m sure you’ve seen or read about this whole thing about the video you and America Ferrera did, the local satellite interview. Apparently some people think she was rolling her eyes when you were talking about Gossip Girl.
    Cut to FoxLA video
Lively: And you know we kind of dates each other and so we have to date more people or each other parents and I don’t know.
    Cut Back
Ausiello: I think it’s much to ado about nothing. You haven’t even heard about this?
Lively: No I haven’t even heard about this. I don’t ever pay attention to that stuff.
    Ausiello: Good for you.
Lively: She’s one of my best friends in the whole wide world. And when you’re sitting in a room for three hours doing satellite interviews. We were staring at a post-it with a smiley face. So I think I probably rolled my eyes a hundred times, just sitting there like “oh gosh this is still going on!”
People make such a big deal out of nothing!

  • Mina

Personally, I hate this name, “The Ausiello Files”. Who the hell are you, Ausiello, and why should your name bring readers?

  • Mina

To clarify: I’m always drawn to the content of this column. I don’t need a photo of the writer. It seems like just another way to “celebritize” normal people. Sorry if the initial comment was too snarky.

  • GingerCat

If you’ve never watched “Gossip Girl,” you have no right to make assumptions about the show OR its audience. It’s much better than you think.

  • Jules

Thanks Nishka! You did an outstanding job! :)
